The midweek action in the Fantasy Football Scout Cup III, sponsored by Paddy Power, saw 32 Fantasy Managers battle it out in the hope of reaching the last 16. You can see exactly who has achieved that feat right here, reading on for the round highlights…

As always, we start with the award for the top-scorer of the Gameweek; and this time it’s Roger‘s arm who is raised at the end of the round, and will be the recipient of a free £25 bet courtesy of Paddy Power. With a score of 61, Hapless Hat-tricks (36) had no chance, on the wrong end of the biggest points margin win of the round.

Roger’s closest challenger for the prize was DollyDaisy, who powered through to the last 16 with a 56 – 32 victory over rrmc.

The lowest scorer of the round was placidcasual, who could only muster 29 points, much to the relief of RJBroughton with his 37.

Outside the top two scorers and the lowest scorer, the other 29 fantasy managers were all within the range of 32 – 48 points, which resulting many close ties.

None more so than billbadger‘s match with Ann_der_roo. Both managers scored 35 points, and it was Ann_der_roo’s hugely impressive overall rank that puts an end to billbadger’s cup run. That was the lowest score good enough to go through.

Elsewhere, last week’s top-scorer, Gazzamania, has his cup run ended after a single point defeat to DRP (42 – 41).

Probably still smarting from his round one win over Mark, tippman looks to be going all the way. He came out on top 41 – 37 in his fifth round fixture with Unwillingplayer.

Manif once again upset the odds to reach the next round, beating atx1303 45 – 38, and putting himself a dizzying 319,956th in the world.

The fixtures for the last 16 will be published later today, but for now, congratulations to those awaiting news of their sixth round opponent, and commiserations to those whose interest in the tournament has dwindled considerably since Wednesday.

Could you really see Valencia back in the first 11 though?

The problem is Nani. On the right he is clearly world class but at left average, or at best inconsistent.

If I was Ferguson I would seriously consider a new left winger soon.

Valencia is too good a player to be frozen out. When he's back they should both play.

Who would they buy to improve the left apart from Bale, which isn't going to happen.

Valencia and Rooney carried Utd last season, he'll be back for sure. Nani is better on the right, but Nani left Valencia right is better than X player left Nani right.

Haven't seen enough of Coentrao or Marin but i'd still prefer Nani to those two.

Officially worried. Drogba could be benched. Karlo said that if he is able to play that means 4 upfront and he will make decision. Ups I need a new captain. Why I didn't realized this midweek and didn't go with Fabregas. On the plus side we miss Lamps badly. With him we scored 7 against Sun. Now I am not certain. Also he said that he want to defend so I presume quiet game and 1 or 2 : 0.

4 good mfs and 1 bargain, that seems to work well for me year in year out,so best of luck!,i think parker is hot at the moment so give him a run id say.

I have a mini issue this week, i missed nani's .1 rise last night and now im .1 short...

Ive 2 free transfers and i would have transfered, Jara > Simpson and Cahill > Nani

    http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j235/alsfotos/fcksake.jpg

would have givin me that yesterday and i'd be quite happy, but cant do it now...

SO! givin that team above (keeping in mind jara is where simpson is and cahill is where Nani is) would you...

Swap jara for simpson and make my 2 free changes next week which would entail Foster > Robinson and Cahill > Nani

Swap Cahill for VDV this week, see how malouda performs and maybe swap malouda for Nani? (reluctant to sel mal)

Swap Foster > Robinson, Cahill > Nani > Jara > Simpson

the .1 really f'd me up 🙁 .... i like nani's fixtures than VDV's but may cost 4 points to do it... any takers?

Elmander doubtful makes my decision to bench him easier, how's this looking:

    Jaas
    A.Cole Coleman Simpson
    Fabregas Nani Malouda VDV Nzogbia
    Drogba (c) Carroll

    Foster Elmander Tamas Gohouri

I'm not sure on captaining Drogs anymore tho.

I think I'm going to take another points hit and go

    Alex to Zhirkov

Drogba to Torres, I guess Torres could wait another week but I got a feeling Drogba is yet again not going to score and Torres will get a couple even though its away from home and my lead will be cut even more!

Plus Im not happy having 3 Chelsea players at the moment (Alex Malouda Drogba)

in pathetic attempt to get a couple of extra points - complained about Rafael BPs vs Vidic on wednesday night - got this reply
    Hi there

The Press Association provide all the data for our games, and we will pass your comments on to them.

However as it states in the rules:

"Neither we nor the Press Association will enter into any correspondence relating to the allocation of points to players."

The best three players, according to our independent match expert (an ex-professional footballer) at PA, receive 1-3 points accordingly. They are awarded on the basis of involvement and influence in match, competency of role filled, quality of performance to the overall contribution to the result, length of time on the pitch and conduct.
Because these are subjective ratings it's unlikely they will always tally with the view of other commentators/reporters/fans.

If players have kept clean sheets, been responsible for assists and scored goals they will be rewarded accordingly by the scoring system in place within Fantasy Premier League. The bonus points reflect on their overall performance and contribution to the game, not specific instances.

However, we do appreciate the feedback and will continue to review the bonus points each week.

    Thank you

    FPL

Alex to Bos (no point hit) - too short-term? I need to do do something, my def is:

    Alex, Coleman, Elmo, Faye, Jara

Alex and Jara both out, Coleman and Elmo rotation risks, Faye home to Liverpool.

The worry is that I'll have the same rotation problems with Bos as I've had injury problems with Alex.

Boateng's flexibility will serve him well IMO. I think he's their first choice right back and second at left back, maybe fourth at centre half, so he should find a way to play most weeks. Especially initially I would think Mancini will now want to settle with four for a while.
