The midweek action in the Fantasy Football Scout Cup III, sponsored by Paddy Power, saw 32 Fantasy Managers battle it out in the hope of reaching the last 16. You can see exactly who has achieved that feat right here, reading on for the round highlights…

As always, we start with the award for the top-scorer of the Gameweek; and this time it’s Roger‘s arm who is raised at the end of the round, and will be the recipient of a free £25 bet courtesy of Paddy Power. With a score of 61, Hapless Hat-tricks (36) had no chance, on the wrong end of the biggest points margin win of the round.

Roger’s closest challenger for the prize was DollyDaisy, who powered through to the last 16 with a 56 – 32 victory over rrmc.

The lowest scorer of the round was placidcasual, who could only muster 29 points, much to the relief of RJBroughton with his 37.

Outside the top two scorers and the lowest scorer, the other 29 fantasy managers were all within the range of 32 – 48 points, which resulting many close ties.

None more so than billbadger‘s match with Ann_der_roo. Both managers scored 35 points, and it was Ann_der_roo’s hugely impressive overall rank that puts an end to billbadger’s cup run. That was the lowest score good enough to go through.

Elsewhere, last week’s top-scorer, Gazzamania, has his cup run ended after a single point defeat to DRP (42 – 41).

Probably still smarting from his round one win over Mark, tippman looks to be going all the way. He came out on top 41 – 37 in his fifth round fixture with Unwillingplayer.

Manif once again upset the odds to reach the next round, beating atx1303 45 – 38, and putting himself a dizzying 319,956th in the world.

The fixtures for the last 16 will be published later today, but for now, congratulations to those awaiting news of their sixth round opponent, and commiserations to those whose interest in the tournament has dwindled considerably since Wednesday.

Interesting news from the Carlo show then.

I can see Carlo shifting Malouda into central midfield and playing Kalou up top with Drogs/Anelka.

          Sorry, haha.

The reason i replied to him was because i knew the answer for sure. Im not convinced on who's the better option between Boateng and Kolarov. Kolorav has only come bac from injury where as Boateng has started the last 5 games or something.

I think Boateng is a better choice at the moment.

For those who have had Drogba since the start who is thinking of keeping him for yet another week?

I realise the consensus is that hes a season keeper but at the end of the day he hasnt scored for 6 games.

Granted he has been ill but how long do you wait. I'm currently in the camp that I may as well wait 1 more week because

    A) Surely he cant keep going without scoring?
    B) Hes on pens and free kicks so surely we will see returns?
C)They are playing Sunderland at home!

But at the end of the day theres only so long you can wait. I really fancy jumping on the small TOrres bandwagon. At least hes producing better scores than Drogba. Most of Drogbas points were from the first few games so his total points tally is a little misleading imo

You have to give Drogba this week to bring home the bacon. After that the next time I'll be looking at Chelsea for a captain is GW20 so I am seriously considering replacing Drogba with Torres until then.

I'm saving it til next week. Strong chance Drogba will pick up some points this weekend for all of the reasons you stated. After that point I don't really fancy chelsea's fixtures, and torres has a nice run coming up, with liverpool seemingly starting to hit some form. Can't see it being a high scoring game in either fixture for the two this weekend so Drogs is still the safer bet. Stick with but don't captain imo.

I've had him virtually since the start and I though people were crazy to get rid of Drogba in recent weeks but I think I'm gonna join the Torres bandwagon if he doesnt do something amazing this wk. Yes he's a great player and yes he will clearly have some immense weeks but nothings for certain in this game. Maybe he won't have the greatest season. Or at least not one to justify his price tag. Esp with so many good and cheaper alternatives.
