Four games kicking off. Three Derby’s taking place up and down the country. Two of them at the nice early hour of Noon GMT. While one so far invincible side finish the gameweek off with one of their new pretenders to the throne looking to make a statement of intent.

We’ve got it all today; and we’re starting with Birmingham vs. Aston Villa and Sunderland vs. Newcastle with the Dugout Discussion already opening its doors for one and all looking for their Sunday fix…

Sunderland XI: Gordon; Onuoha, Bramble, Ferdinand, Bardsley; Elmohamady, Henderson, Richardson, Malbranque; Gyan, Bent.

Newcastle XI: Harper; Simpson, Coloccini, Williamson, Jose Enrique; Barton, Nolan, Smith, Gutierrez; Best, Ameobi.

Sunderland welcome Nedum Onuoha back into the fray but must still see captain Lee Cattermole and Danny Welbeck on the injury list and unable to make their appearances. Newcastle may have to make do without star striker Andy Carroll this weekend but Shola Ameobi is fit enough to return to the fore and pushing Peter Lovenkrands back to the bench, Jose Enrique also recovers from the flu which previously had him on the sidelines.

Birmingham XI: Foster; Carr, Johnson, Ridgewell, Murphy; Bentley, Ferguson, Gardner, Fahey; Hleb: Derbyshire.

Aston Villa: Friedel, Clark, Dunne, Collins, Walker, Albrighton, Petrov, Reo-Coker, Downing, Carew, Agbonlahor.

Birmingham make a handful of changes as Daryl Murphy comes in for the injured Scott Dann, David Bentley makes his Blues debut with Seb Larsson, rumoured to be joining Newcastle imminently, nowhere to be seen. Matt Derbyshire is rewarded with a role leading the line in place of Cameron Jerome following his FA Cup exploits. Aston Villa meanwhile give a league debut to [potential Fantasy Premier League £4.0m bargain] Kyle Walker as well as calling Marc Albrighton and John Carew into the side once more while Ashley Young sits out suspended.

Only thing left is to wipe the sleep away from our eyes and take in six straight hours of Premier League action.

      Given Vidic's apparent inability to get BPs, I reckon BAE (who was absolute class today btw) and Vidic will be the other way round.

        I thought BAE played very well. Players like Clichy, Rafael and BAE get good stats because they are perceived weak points in their defences, so they see a lot of the action. What do you think?

          Not sure about that.... The majority of Spurs' play goes down their left (which is understandable with BAE and Bale there and Hutton/Lennon on the right) so BAE sees a lot of the ball. He's also extremely competent in possession, more so than every other full back in the league IMO..

          Clichy, and Sagna, get good stats because they get no support from their wingers, so have to do so much defending!!

        lol tough titties. if i had the choice i would have taken your team and mine over my brothers and he got 97, so it shows it's extremely hard to predict this year which to be honest is a good thing i guess. keeps us on out toes so we don't ever get complacent and think transfers are sure things. brunt and g.johnson for example i thought were almost bankers and in 5 weeks each they've never got over 2 points!

    Sorry - this was in the previous thread.

    I asked:
    Which are the two games that one of which could be postponed depending on who is playing in the Carling Cup final?

    Reply - donners says:
    Ars v Tot GW 28

    Reply Perthite says:
    Thanks. I thought there was something like one of the Birmingham GW27 games (v Everton?) or a West Ham game around that time.
    (depending on who makes final)

      GW28
      Arsenal v Spurs (likely to be rescheduled for midweek);
      Chelsea v Birmingham (Almost definitely won't be rescheduled that week);
      West Ham v Liverpool (Could be rescheduled for midweek)

      Everton v Birmingham in GW27 will also move to GW29.

      [Bold team has to make final to affect the schedule]

        +1

        Rooney just back from injury, so not guaranteed to play both games in the double, they're only 3 days apart. Obviously Berba's not guaranteed to play both either.

      Defo wait on the Utd/Tot game to finish up, ruling out injury/bans.

      I think Fabs is a better choice than Nasri, But Rooney is more likely to play both games. My .02
