Adam Earns Two-Match Ban

Charlie Adam has this evening earned his tenth booking of the season, a pointless yellow card for a late challenge on Tottenham’s Michael Dawson in a 3-1 win – he will now face an immediate two-match ban. Adam will miss Blackpool’s next two league matches at Wolves and at home to Chelsea.

This comes as a major blow for Fantasy Managers who already face the tough task of getting a full starting XI out for gameweek 28 given the blank fixtures for Arsenal, Spurs and Birmingham. With an ownership of 37% in the Fantasy Premier League game, Adam could now be forced out of many a Fantasy squad through pure necessity.

It’s worth considering that, on Adam’s return from suspension, Blackpool face two straight away games – a pair of tough encounters at Fulham and Blackburn. Following that however, Adam and Blackpool have an incredible run of four consecutive home matches with Arsenal, Newcastle, Wigan and Stoke all due at Bloomfield Road. It could well be feast and famine when it comes to Adam’s prospects then.

Adam opened the scoring from the spot in tonight’s 3-1 for Blackpool and is expected to in amongst the FPL Bonus points once again.

    Bad timing by Adam. Better that he waited one game, to miss Chelsea and Blackburn instead of Wolves (important match) and Chelsea.

      I have a feeling he knew what he was doing. Now he has a month off until his next game on 19th March and will come back fresh. He was always going to get that ban.

    Wolves away and Chelsea at home are two of the toughest consecutive games Blackpool have left, so perhaps Adam took the hit now to make sure he was available for Blackpool's more favourable fixtures.

    Blackpool still have Wigan, Newcastle, Stoke and Bolton at home. They're staying up.

      Yeah, but that Wolves tie could have a major impact in who stays up. If Adam's hammy was messed up, though, it makes some sense to get the rest now.

    oh well charlie you got us all an obscene amount of points over the last few gameweeks. if i'm honest i bought him to get about 4ppg and to beenfit form the 2 double gameweeks, thinking he might get a penalty and a set piece assist. instead he has got a massive amount of points. whilst everyone has him on here a few in my leagues don't and some have only just got him this week.
