With the gameweek deadline drawing in and the heat getting turned up on the comment boards, it’s time to open up our Saturday Surgery chatroom.

Those Fantasy Managers looking for validation, inspiration and a good helping of high-speed banter to see them through to the Fantasy Premier League gong, can check-in right here.

Our Dugout Discussion chatroom will open up at around 12.30 to cover the first of today’s kick-offs, as Nikola Zigic carries the hopes of thousands of Fantasy Managers on his lofty shoulders against the Baggies. Is it only me feeling rather uncomfortable about relying on the fortunes of the skyscraper Serb?

    Bench: Vela Clark Kelly

    Vela isn't a bad sub IMO to come on for either VDV or Barton if/when they don't make it, its just Clark. Bol (A), i see a 2/1 pointer for him. So do I get rid of Kelly for an 8 point hit to Jiranek? I am feeling fairly confident Barton will play though, seeing as how desperate he is.

      This is very similar to the situation that I am in. I have three doubtful midfielders, VDV, Meirelies and Barton and I need two of them to play, otherwise I'll be bringing on Walker (also Bolton away) as a sub.

      I have decided to sit tight, not spend my free transfer and hope that two of them make it into the starting line-ups. There's no point taking a hit for someone who will only be a good option for one week. Players like Jiranek are one-week punts, and you will probably want rid of them next week (you can't rely on any future doubles given the possible trauma of the cup replays.)

      Saha could realistically get a couple of goals in 1 game, without needing his 2nd. He's worth bringing in IMO, but there's others in with a shout too... it's down to good/bad luck.

      bearing in mind zigic isn't a certain starter (if he does nothing v west brom there's a chance it will be martins and jerome v everton) and he's unlikely to get an assist and wont get bps if he doesn't score then this looks a very all or nothing affair with zigic. big cojones

      I wouldn't say bringing him in is a risk, he is in great form and now with Bentley and Larrson playing, everything is going through Zigic, he's the target man, like Carroll was for Newcastle. But yes, captaining him over Tevez is mad.

            Likely 4 points for turning up then all he needs to do is be involved in 1 goal in 180 minutes (which the recent stats will tell you if Birmingham score at all he'll probably be in amongst it) and he's becomes a good buy. Of course there is also the chance he does really well and picks up a couple of goals and top BPs!
