The Swiss FA have given Arsene Wenger and Fantasy Managers new hope after announcing that Johan Djourou could return from injury within two weeks. After previously being ruled out for the season with a dislocated shoulder, suffered in the FA Cup loss to Manchester United, the defender who has been key to Arsenal may make a shock return.

The Swiss FA are hopeful that the defender may be fit for their Euro 2012 qualifier against Bulgaria on March 26. Their statement reads:

“The shoulder injury to Johan Djourou is less serious than feared on Saturday and announced by the coach of his club. The Arsenal defender and member of the Switzerland national team was submitted to thorough medical examinations on Monday. At the end of a long exhausting day, Johan Djourou had new hope that…. his season is not over yet.â€

It is reported that Djourou has not suffered any fractures or bone injuries and the ligaments strained during the dislocation of the shoulder do not seem to be seriously damaged. The central defender will await the detailed assessments of a medical examination he underwent on Monday. If Djourou does return, he could be back for the Gameweek 31 fixture on 2 April against Blackburn.

Arsenal have kept 7 clean sheets in their last 9 Premier League fixtures that Djourou has played in. So far this season, in the games in which Djourou has featured, the Gunners have won 13 out of 16 and drawn the other 3. Valued at just 4.4 on the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, Djourou has been a bargain buy for many Fantasy Managers. With stats like these, a possible return will be a huge boost for Arsenal Football Club and his FPL owners.

In the meantime, Laurent Koscielny will be partnered by the Sébastien Squillaci who has been less than impressive in his time at the Emirates. The Gunners are also linked with a short-term move for veteran former goalkeeper Jens Lehmann, who will be back-up to Manuel Almunia with Lukasz Fabiański and Wojciech Szczęsny ruled out with long-term injuries.

It is expected that Arsenal will make an official comment on the players condition in the next few days and the player may reveal more through his Twitter account.

johnfinlay John swears he'll deliver unbiased Fantasy Premier League tips and news...until Leeds get promoted.

I'm half tempted with the Odemwingie > Hernanadez transfer but I have had a enough of sweating over starting line-ups. Coleman, Kolarov aand Etherington have not been helpful to me recently.

Fergie might well freshen it up and start Berba - that's what I thought he'd do having seen the line-up tonight; but Liitle Pea is on form and undroppable.

Fair dues to Deschamps for admitting that United were under strength, it's not often you hear a manager admit that as openly as he did, albeit that it is obvious they were under strength, humble guy.

Can I have any valued opinions on a front 8 of

    a) Nani, Lampard, Nasri, VDV, A Young, Rooney, RVP, Gyan or
    b) Nani, Lampard, Nasri, VDV, O'Hara, Rooney, RVP, Doyle

basically A Young+Gyan vs O'hara+Doyle but the first has a class midfield, the 2nd needs a couple more changes at the back.

    cheers guys 🙂

Sorry, I've made a mess if this can I start again? Which is best out of:

          a) Nani, Lampard, Nasri, VDV, A Young, Rooney, RVP, Doyle or
          b) Nani, Lampard, Nasri, VDV, O’Hara, Rooney, RVP, Gyan

          a) has the class MF but will need an extra hit if I spread this over the next 2-3 GWs.

Tending with a) myself and have an 18 point deficit on ML leader.

A - although Sunderland have a couple of tricky games to negotiate first and don't have goals in them (Gyan).

Having O'Hara and Doyle is a little overkill for B and there is no Villa influence. I've backed Downing over Young too.

For the first leg games, I put Inter the home favourites to win in my accum, they were the only team who let me down. This time, considering Bayern were the home favourites and had won at the san siro, I put them in my accum to win again assuming Chelsea and Real win tomorrow, they would be the only team to dissappoint.

Seriously unlucky, it was a completely insane game where Inter only had 3 efforts on goal which all went in.

Good first half from Carrick I thought and better than what I have become accustomed to recently - there was less of the sideways passing and he actually set up one or two attacks.

United's Summer shopping list should consist of: 1 centre-half (preferably durable); 1 ball-winning midfielder; one highly creative midfielder. Giggs to be used as an impact sub for the next 10 years 🙂

Control indeed. Good first half from him I thought and a lot better than what I have seen from him recently - less sideways passing; he actually started one or two attacks.

United's summer "must buy" list - one centre-half; one ball winning midfielder; one highly creative midfielder.

Happy with my midfield given fixtures, but haven't got Arsenal or Spurs coverage. RVP is the obvious solution up top, but how about Defoe as an alternative to VDV and Bale? Berbs and Tevez would make way.

Really annoys me when Chelsea fans (or any fans for that matter) slate Lampard. Not only has he consistently scored 20+ goals from midfield I would say he has also consistently been in Chelsea's top 5 performers for say the last 5 years.

Also how often do you see him front page of the news, unlike say Shrek, StevieGBH, or even Ronaldo? Not often. Just think he's a very good role model and doesn't get the credit he deserves on and off the field.

    * Lampard-loving over.* 😉

It's clear that SAF doesn't care the slightest about Berbatov though.

He was dropped for no reason whatsoever and with Hernandez scoring all the time I see no reason why he won't continue to play.

you've almost talked me into it. I've been pondering it and if he doesn't play the full 90 he still has the ability to come on and score in a 20 minute cameo the way he is playing at the moment.

What's SAF supposed to do write him a sorry note? If he thinks the team is improved with Hernandez than I'm fine with that, Berbs will still get plenty of time on the field.
I've always thought the biggest problem with having Berbatov in the side is tempo. He has class but he likes to dwell on the ball a little too much for my liking.
It's great for us that we have this other option in Hernandez now.

Maybe a Get Well Soon card would be more appropriate. Who knows what fergies take is on it. From a fantasy point of view at 3 million less Hernandez is what you would want out of the two and recently he seems to be the favoured option.

Bold but could be fruitful - Berbs to start ahead of Little Pea though this weekend? I must admit I am tempted with bringing in Little Pea, and Fergie might just continue playing him whilst he is form.

I've lost all conviction in Kolarov's starting capabilities; but might have to play him this weekend.

You don't need Bent as you have Young.

Kolarov to Walker and Barton to VdV this week will give you a very tasty team indeed, sir.

there is one guy in there

            a big guy

i saw him without his top on one day in the changing room

across his back, in block capital letters was a tattoo:

            FIGHTING SOLVES EVERYTHING

i made sure he didn't see me looking :-/
