Carlos Tevez is rated as 50:50 for a return to action in the FA Cup Final according to reports surfacing this morning.

The striker’s hamstring tear is currently being assessed by Argentina’s team Doctor in Milan and is due to return to Eastlands to start his rehabilitation although, as yet, no date has been set for Tevez’s arrival back in Manchester. Today’s articles suggest that Roberto Mancini is due to consult his medical staff to receive an update on the situation and to make a decision on whether Tevez should make his return from Italy this week.

The latest reports appear to confirm the initial prognosis that had estimated a four-week absence for Tevez; despite the player’s own desire to play in the final, it’s clear that he is set to struggle to make the Wembley date. Realistically then, with speculation also surrounding his future at the club, Tevez may have made his last appearance for City.

For Fantasy Managers the absence of Tevez could prove significant – particularly when you begin to assess City’s end of season run-in and the prospect presented by Mario Balotelli.

City face a tricky trip to Ewood this weekend, but follow that with a run of three home matches in four with West Ham, Tottenham and Stoke all visiting Eastlands. The absence of Tevez would seem likely to cement a starting role for Balotelli – a realistic consideration up front for a Fantasy Premier League fee of 7.9. The young Italian is a far from a reliable prospect given his tendency to attract controversy and bookings but, with Edin Dzeko struggling to settle in the Premier League, Mancini’s faith in Balotelli to lead his attack looks solid.

Balotelli has scored 6 goals in 10 Premier League starts with a single assist and 6 FPL Bonus Points to his name. With 5 appearances from the bench, the striker has picked up 5 yellow cards and a red in his first season in the league. Always keen to be involved from set-plays, Balotelli would also seem likely to be granted penalty-taking duties with Tevez out of the side having already converted from the spot this season.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Afternoon, I drift in an out of this site, just out of interest could people tell me where in the world they are coming? I am 1264, is that relatively good or bad compared to you lot?

cheers, so with just hughes as your only doubler for the next game week who do you plan to get in and who do you plan to transfer out.

I ask this as my urge to ditch Adam or VDV for Dempsey and Etherington gets stronger with each hour and i noticed that you have a similarly strong mid.

havnt decided yet, the doubles dont look particularly attractive but i may get in etherington for either of those 2, waiting to see how adams fitness is. Im getting bored of having VDV now!

Agree, VDV is becoming an expensive blot on my midfield. I'm going to assess his performance tonight before considering ditching him. I know he has a double coming up but as my primary school maths teacher once said 2+2=4.

Walters is the purchase of a man with massive balls, a way with the ladies and is capable of drinking eight pints without even flinching.

Etherington is the purchase of a man who drives a Ford Focus, invests in Cash ISAs not the stock exchange and likes the reliability of a Dell over the showyness of a Mac.

....er Ethers is on my watchlist btw.

Only on FPL, everywhere else it's just the one. Two of them - Fulham and Birmingham - were scandalously later added by FPL, despite the Press Association, as well as the likes of OPTA, not awarding it.

Just a few gripes with the watchlist and the captain's poll, wonder if anyone agrees/ disagrees...

Whats with Dempsey topping the captains poll? I thought he was playing in a deeper role with Zamora back in the team plus he isn't exactly on form.
And how is Odemwingie so far down the striker's watchlist?! The man is on fire with a good run of fixtures coming up.
To compound it Kolorov is SECOND in the defenders chart when he's been awful all season.

Dempsey isnt what he was in the previous dgw

Odem is the hottest striker in the league n at that price WOW

Kolarov has been pants. hes in my team but hasn't warranted a place due to lack of cleanies and his attacking play has provided little. Would take him out if he didnt have a double coming

Dempsey's topping the poll because he has the most votes I suppose? 🙂

Nah I think it's because he's a greedy prick that shoots on sight and it brings back memories of past DGW's when he delivered the goods. Personally I'd have Zamora over him (even though I'll probably get Dempsey). There are other good options though that don't have a double, like Drogba/Lampard/RVP/Rooney.

PAH! Everyone is rambling on about DGW's. They are hardly bankers this week. In fact the only player in my starting 11 i'm thinking of dropping is NANI!!! LOL

    Begovic (foster)
    Terry Luiz Walker
    Lampard Nani Adam VDV (Barton)
    Carroll RVP Rooney

£0.6mill left over. Only Walters tempted me. Fulhan have a good dgw then rubbish fixtures.

Not sure what everyone is going on about with these doubles. Clutching at straws

etherington and dempsey joint first. I don't buy this Dempsey plays deep business. He still shoots at every opportunity. He's also got that steely determined look that only US sportsman have. Sampras had it as well. He looks kinda vacant but behind the misty eyes are the words WINNER! printed on his retina. Dempsey's US competitiveness makes him a joint no. 1 for me.

Gerogie Thompson seems to think she's still on A League of their Own, she's joking around, eating cupcakes on air, Simon didn't quite know what to do lol, he was trying to remain professional.

Tosey – replied earlier saying 'just seen your comment, I’m pretty busy at the mo so hardly on. Yeah it would have been good to back the rangers, but if celtic win tonight and on sunday you’d be in trouble. I’ve never looked forward to a game of football more in my life thqan sunday, i’m actually buzzing about it. If you can get the market, and a reasonable price, put money on a sending off. I dont know the ‘super sunday’ but its well worth a watch!'

Of this midfield, which 1 would you bench this week? (I'm playing 3-4-3 this week and all mids look decent shouts.)

I'd say zamora for the dgw but sturridge is better long term so might be better off getting him.
For the mid I fancy duff (if fit), dempsey or etherington.

Spurs have lost only 1 game at home this season to wigan in august, but I think they'll lose tonight 3-2. Arsenal need to win and spurs are sometimes quite inconsistent. Plus they generally have a bad record v the arse in recent years even tohugh I know they have won the last 2 (2-1 last season and 3-2 this year).
