Double gameweek 36 comes to an end tonight, with a potentially decisive game in the chase for that all-important fourth spot. Manchester City host Tottenham Hotspur knowing that a win will see them qualify for the Champion’s League for the first time. For Spurs only a win will do if they hope to mount a realistic challenge in the closing league fixtures.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open and the team news is in…

Man City XI: Hart, Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Zabaleta, Milner, De Jong, Toure Yaya, Adam Johnson, Silva, Dzeko

Spurs XI: Cudicini, Corluka, Dawson, Gallas, Rose, Lennon, Palacios, Sandro, Modric, Van der Vaart, Crouch

The home side drop Fantasy favourite Aleksandar Kolarov, who takes his place on the bench alongside Mario Balotelli and the returning Carlos Tevez. Filling that left-back slot is Pablo Zabaleta, meaning that there’s a place in the side for Micah Richards.

There’s also changes aplenty for the visitors, as recently calamitous ‘keeper Heurelho Gomes is left out, with a “back injury” being cited as the reason. Charlie Adam is the reason Gareth Bale misses out, opening a space for Wilson Palacios in a formation-altered Spurs side, which promotes the hugely popular Rafael van der Vaart up behind Peter Crouch.

Akers Richard or Akers, as he is known, has been regularly haunting this site since July 2008. He is young and foolish, take what he says with a pinch of salt. Follow them on Twitter

Bentley, hailed by all and sundry as the 'next Beckham' and nearly the future of English footy ... now, a no-show nobody. Found out.

Bale, hailed at the beginning of the season (after a few good performances) as the future of footy in England and of Wales. Meh. Found out, IMO.

Can't fill Giggs' water bottle ...

You can't write off Bale though, he's been injured and just come back. No one is comparing him to Giggs.

Not writing him off permanently, just saying this season Bale's not been much, for me. And: before his injury, too.

Giggs is just there for a Beckham/Welsh counterpart.

Thanks for the translation of Dozzell's post for me, though. 🙂

The figures are broken down as follows: Purchases = Money spent on Players, Sold = Money received from Players sold, Net Per Season = Purchased minus Sold. This gives an indication of new investment on players. The per season column gives an average of the money spend per season since 1992.

Seriously if City concede it will just be the most disappointing week.

Yaya goal would be a nice pick me up.

Not watched the game or checked previous pages, BBC says crouch own goal, correct? Would be perfect as main rival has him, and zabaleta who just got subbed off before 60!  now cmon VDV!!

    Spurs are just dire.

Going on from hot and cold he is and the fact that he's going to be so overpriced next season - doubt I'll look at VDV as an FPL prospect.
