The Dugout Discussion kicks into gear for five more fixtures of our penultimate gameweek. unfortunately today’s television broadcasts are aimed in the direction of the only two games with “nothing left to play for” (don’t blame them too much, they have to make these commitments months in advance).

Later today Arsenal will have their final home game of another barren season versus Aston Villa for our viewing pleasure. Elsewhere in the four o’clock kick-offs Liverpool and Spurs will jostle for fifth place and a spot in the Europa league, West Ham travel to Wigan needing a victory for any faint hope of survival this year. That may not even be enough, if Birmingham can get just a point at home to Fulham at the same time then The Hammers are Championship bound.

But first we’ve got Chelsea playing host to Newcastle in a dead rubber fixture. Ancelotti keeps his word and Torres starts (alongside Nicolas Anelka and Yossi Benayoun) with Josh McEachran, Alex and Ramires also coming in. Alan Pardew keeps to his word and rests Cheikh Tiote for the remainder of the season to avoid a record 15 yellow cards and 3 game ban. Line-ups in full are…

Chelsea XI: Cech; Ivanovic, Terry, Alex, Cole; Ramires, Lampard, McEachran; Benayoun, Torres, Anelka

Newcastle XI: Krul; Simpson, S Taylor, Coloccini, Enrique; Gutierrez, Barton, R Taylor, Ferguson; Ameobi, Lovenkrands

The Dugout Discussion will be open through all the days games until young Greghammer gets teary eyed as the Fantasy Premier League bonus points roll in. Whether that’s through seeing his side getting relegated or captaining Thomas Vermaelen (or both) is yet to be seen.

Good news. Nothing personal Dick, but I'm hoping my rivals at the top of the Metro League might have Luiz, Drogba and Malouda, although I'd rather have seen them given the afternoon off rather than warming the bench.

Have three Chelsea - all playing.

I also have Cech,Cole & Lamps in that format so 3 out of 4 is not too bad. Next week could be hilarious with rotation though.

I was leading this competition a month ago, but picking Zamora in Fulham's DGW has really stuffed my chances of the big prize.

i want to start by saying i in no way codone the behaviour of rangers fans towards neil lennon. However i am glad Rangers have won the title and not Lennon's celtic.

He has behaved like an idiot for a few seasons now and has to share some responsibility for insighting the fans. Walter Smith does his best to play down the old firm rivalry and lennon does the opposite. footballers and managers rarely see the effect of their actions from their little bubble. maybe lennon will act like an adult in future.

it's an issue with society in scotland, nothing more than that. he is doing a job as a football manager. those convicted on heinous crimes get treated with less contempt. he may rub people up the wrong way but for goodness sake he is the manager of a football club. scotland is being shown up by knuckle-draggers and justification of why he is being treated like this. and i am a scotsman.

I have to agree there Ledders although most of the religious issues do relate to the west coast teams you do get a small minorities elsewhere who act the same. Years ago you got it at Easter Road but not so much these days but the Hearts fans still seem to carry it on in Edinburgh. Its a shame that the rest of us are all tarred with that brush. Martin O'Neill didn't get the crap Lennon has, for some reason he seemed to be much more respected which makes you wonder why Lennon has been singled out. I cant get my head around it at all. Its a sad state of affairs.

I think a lot of it will be transfer dependant. A bit too difficult to say just now, this year the big guys lost more games/conceded more goals than usual. City are starting to look like a really decent team but then if they lose Tevez what will that do to them. KK has Liverpool plqaying some really good stuff.

They already brought in Dzeko, so far, he hasn't done a thing. Bringing in a top striker doesn't necessarily always work right away, they have to bond with and understand the others they play with. Look at Torres so far, Forlan at United etc. Even Berbatov has taken a while to gel with the United team whereas he clicked almost immediately at Spurs.

True, if they continue to play that way. They have beaten the best this season in 3-1 Man United, 1-0 Chelsea and 3-0 Man City. However they have to be mindful that they don't slip up against weaker teams. Their 2-5 game against unbeaten Fulham was probably their best performance to date.

I do think we have a realistic chance of winning it next season, but maybe one step at a time.

      1) Us/United
      3) City (depending on who they bring in this summer.)
      4) Chelsea ( Can't see them winning anything unless they can get Torres and Drogba to play well with each other)
      5) Spurs
      6) Arsenal (If fabregas leaves)

I expect Liverpool to fade badly because I don't see dalglish rotating to the extent they'll need if they're in Europa.

Also expect chelsea to buy a few players so hard to judge right now

i disagree, he'll see the competition for what it is and give it to the fringe players

man u have won the title because of the strength of their squad so kenny just has to deepen his pool of talent over the break

I know you disagree, as a lot of others do.

Just my opinion. Squad probably isn't even strong enough to compete in the prem over a full season. They've been over achieving lately.. it doesn't mean they'll do that well in the league over 38 games.

King Kenny is a proven master of winning most games and league titles. yes he still needs some more players but they should be coming, 2-3 players in the summer and his youth players are some of the best as seen this season.

What’s the thinking on who will be the most likely goalscorers next weekend?

Obviously have to start the game, and that’s going to be tricky to predict for many teams.

Also helpful if they are hungry and have something to play for.

    And home advantage.

But do I really want a front three of Fletcher, Ba and some other Herbert?

forget next seasons title race, what about this seasons relegation battle. As a wolves fan it is nerve wracking but think we should be ok.

my prediction for the three teams

    West Ham (obviously)
Blackpool - will lose 1-0 at old trafford
Blackburn - will lose 2-1 at wolves (no samba hamstring injury)

I thought Malouda would be benched. Anelka hasn't had a run out in a few games, and with it probably being his last game at The Bridge i thought he would play. Thought they would have gone with a front three of Drog Torres and Anelka.
