Mark The Beta Test on the new site that opened to Members last night is now closed after the first phase of testing.
We got a fantastic amount of feedback following the first phase and have a good list to work through before we go live again for another pass. We will also be optimising the servers and tweaking various aspects of the site before we open it up to Members once again.

Fast and skillful - the test will be whether or not he can cope with the physical side of the EPL - not quite in the same mould as Tevez from that point of view.
I'm going to be backing him though - probably from the start if he moves soon.
Apparently Higuain is also out of favour with Real...I wouldn't be surpised if Man C go for a double Argentine injection here...With Tevez off - they are looking weak upfront with only Dzeko and Balo?
tim vickery thinks the world of him, in particular his link-up play with midfield.
problem is that citeh's mids aren't particularly inspiring in terms of key passes/assists. pretty shocking, actually. mainly silva and milner producing the goods.
on another note, fabregas was 1st in key passes, having made more than double the number of ashley young in 2nd place. also 2nd in assists. all in less than 1900 minutes.
think fabs staying is more important than a lot of folks might think. even "unmotivated" as he was last season, his OPTA stats are pretty ridiculous.
sorry, that big gap was for through balls. still fabs was in the top 15 in key passes, as well.
rumours are that Liverpool are also bidding for him. City can no doubt offer better wages, but Aguero is a self confessed Liverpool fan. FACT!!

FPL site has encountered problems salmiano ,so it has been heavily delayed ,hopefully it will be updated today *fingers crossed*
It came straight from the horse's mouth that there were minor issues with the site. I wouldn't say it was heavily delayed since it's only a week later than usual and they don't exactly have to release it when we feel like they should it's up to them when it's ready.
I thought I would share the dream I had last night and will try and describe it as well as possible:
What I remember was that I was in a ceramics factory at night and the building was falling apart a little and definitely felt a little eerie. In the centre of the building was a large table and sat on one side was a selection of people from Liverpool and the other a group of people from the south. The meeting was being held to organise the designing and build of the Fantasy Football Scout website for the very first time. There was a little tension in the room but ultimately both parties wanted to make a website to help fantasy football fans.
As per many dreams, suddenly the meeting was being held around the same table but was now in the middle of a large lawn outside a manor house in Kent. There was still an eerie feeling about the place but I think an agreement was made and the website was going ahead!
This was my first ever dream about fantasy football and I think is a result of spending most of the weekend checking this site, the FPL site and playing Half Life 2.
Please open soon FPL. My brain is clearly having problems.

Wasn't that the line last week? "a few days". If it's gonna be a week or two, why not just say? that's my feeling. Keep saying 'a few days' too many times and you give the impression that FPL don't really know what they are doing...
as many others have said on here, and I agree, it's no suprise a revamp is causing technical probs, but why no communication about it? It makes such a difference to be kept informed.

I don't get what the big deal is. It's not late the seasons a month away. Premier league would want it up now even more than you do but they don't develop the software and the people that do are focused on doing just that.

but a simple statement from FPL, maybe as a banner on the old 2010/11 page many are visiting and refreshing, would keep the punters happy. Doesn't take long, wouldn't cost much (if anything) and is just good PR.

Come on man, it's not like FFS are running the FPL game - they may have a bit more influence now (which has to be good for us - I'm sure they're communicating the frustration), but they can't exactly tell the Premier League - get the game live now or the deal's off!

Moderating this place could be a pretty tricky task, lots of spats will fall within a wide grey area that could be interpreted as violating the TaCs or not. It'll take a very level headed sort of character and I can't think of many of them on here 🙂

Speaking (if I may) on behalf of the Scout team I can only reassure you that we DO care VERY much, both about the launch date and giving the community the best information and the editorial deal we've struck should allow us to do that even more in the season ahead.
At present the truth is that the game is close to launch but we don't have a definite date/time that we can give out that we could confidently stick to. When a date is fixed in stone, we will be the first to know (outside the Premier League) and our community will be a close second!
Fully appreciate it's frustrating and believe you me the feeling is shared within Scout towers as we're ready and raring to delve into the player list and unleash the full wrath of our anaytical powers (well not mine I stress, I started last season with Anelka instead of Drogba!)

That's fine, but what happens if either FPL are doing final tweaks/tests and don't know the specific date? OR FPL set a date and then miss it?
Presumably it means that the scouts get loads of stick for giving the wrong date, which is completely beyond their control...?
It would be very poor if they did not have a target go-live date with a project plan working towards it! If it was a true two-way relationship and users of FFS really were getting the "inside track" then yes, they could say that they are "aiming towards a date / time or X but are doing final testing so it is subject to this". They could even explain what new features are being implemented / tested.
As it currently stands we are probably going to get the information the same time as everyone else, i.e. when it "goes live" - what is the benefit to FFS users in that?
What can they really do? If FPL told FFS 'we plan for it to open tomorrow at 12' and FFS tell us, then there's some sort of bug that's discovered so more work is needed people would go mental (and Daniel may have a complete breakdown).
Actually Bubles no, not at all. For me the DELAY is ok, the lack of communication is not. If they say we are targeting around Wednesday but that is not fixed date, I would be very very happy. This is frustrating. When u can not get to the thing and there is no communication at all that is the toughest, I am only complaining for them messing with us.
But I believe non of them is playing this game and they don't know the "I" of how important is for some of us.

If FFS are taking on the pundit role and also taking on having to explain assist and BP awards then FPL would be forced to justify those decisions to Mark and the crew, and that could provide a clear benefit to FFS users. Last year FPL could have ultimately have sent FFS the same standard fob-offs they send to everyone else when they question an award, the formalising of arrangements between them should mean they can't do that.

You're right, I have to keep myself occupied. But everything seems a bit trivial.
I was a bit of a wreck when my relationship of 4ish years ended a couple of years ago - I found it was the completely mundane stuff that I missed the most. Like having someone to watch some crappy telly with or to wake you up with hilarious unfeminine snoring. It's tough to readjust after so much routine goes out of the window, but you will.
Try not to think about the good times, just try to remeber all the bad stuff, and the amount of times you thought about how life would be better/more fun if you were single. It takes time , but youll feel good soon.
p.s. stay away from alcohol, its fun when your drunk, but the hangovers ar awfully depressing!
If you have family or close friend nearby spend a bit of time with them. Any sort of close mate will understand. Getting back to work may be the best thing to do, just really tough the first day. Good luck, I'm sure all our best wishes and thoughts are with you.

Hey Soop mate. I really understand u and I know how u r feeling at the moment. I broke up with my girlfriend recently and I thought she was the one. Maybe I still do but I don't feel that bad anymore. From personal experience what is best to do. Maybe its silly but go on shopping and buy some boxers, good looking underwear and build your self confidence again. Buy 5, 10 pieces if needed and fully believe that u r gonna need them for the next time and u r looking so good in them.
Believe me the first and the most important step is to bring back your confidence. As we speak I am considering dedicating my this year team name to her. We never learn u know 🙂 😉 ha ha.

I know it's not any consolation mate but same here, just 2 nights ago. Not quite the 6and a half just 3 nd a half but I know what your feeling. I've come to accept that I'm considered a "bad guy" in some quarters for actually trying to get something back and, heaven forbid, make a success of this site to ensure I can keep it going, but when I'm accused of deceiving people it's beginning to step out of line. Particularly when, quite frankly, I've spent the summer flogging myself to push this site forward for everyone involved.
Most don't see you as the bad guy mark. There will always be a few. Kudos on a massive step fwd for ffs. It's been well earned.
Hear, hear. I play my leagues for glory and dont begrudge £12.50 for a season's worth of extra info and cant understand those who are unhappy with paying to support the site when they stand to win loads of dosh.

We understand u Mark, its the FPL Towers making the Community going mad.
I for one (am sure I'm not alone) have free-loaded off this site for a few years. Signed up for memebership last year and while in truth I didn't use the additional data much I still believe £12-£20 is a small price to pay for the enjoyment not to mention advice this site provides as a whole. The season ticker itself is worth the member fee.
Think folk need to act a little more graciously towards the contributors who in my opinion have benefited us all in some way over the years.
The alternatives to this site are pretty lame IMO (FantasyFootballAssistanace anyone??) so I for one am thankful the site exists at all.
