While we wait for further information on the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) situation, I thought I’d draw your attention to a recent rule tweak concerning the Bonus Point awards which some of you may have missed.

The FPL rules now state…

“Bonus points will be awarded on the Monday morning after the weekend matches are played. Any matches played on a weekday night will be awarded on the following morning.”

So, just to prevent even more frustration later this evening, we thought we’d make this clear to all in advance. The Bonus Points will be awarded after all the Gameweek action has been reviewed and any scoring issues addressed – which, given that they are now based on a system driven by a statistical index – the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index – is perhaps not surprising.

Fantasy Football Scout will of course be publishing a review of the Gameweek on Monday, discussing the Bonus Points and the EA SPORTS PPI in full.

Later today we also hope to have our first set ICT Scout Index scores available to Members which should offer some guidance on where the Bonus Points are likely to go.

As mentioned in my recent comments in the site earlier this morning, if we can get an update on the FPL situation, we will pass what we can.

Relieved to read the comments here about getting on the site. I've just woken up, came in from nights this morning and went on with no problems at 06.30 for a last minute think.

  I would say that with the new site design they have not tested it with 1 million people trying to access it at the same time.
  
  After this week they will be able to see what caused it and implement a fix. I wouldn't expect it to be sorted this weekend or maybe even next weekend though.

I logged in this morning and have remained logged in ever. I would have gone berserk if I hadn't been able to do some final changes as well. I assume they have restricted the number of people who can login to reduce the server load since the site is really good once you are logged on. Doesn't feel quite right tbh... Not democratic at all.

  I agree. I was fortunate enough to sort out my team, though I only made two changes this morning. Whilst I think that anyone who hasn't got a reasonably complete starting side by now isn't going to be a contender anyway, I still, like you, think this is very disappointing and not great for the game.

I wonder is there anybody actually working for FPL today, surely it's an automatic system, and the staff could hardly be that large for a free game, so all this anger, mine included, is being vented in vain, would be really good to have some kind of explanation from FPL, the site crashing on deadline day, fair enough, over 12 hours before, and where in the weeks leading up to the deadline I was sometimes getting the same error message logging in, they knew it was unstable, and should have acted.

  Maximum number of users exceeded. If you're in, you're fine. If you log out to help a friend, as I did, you can't get back in.

  I am no IT fundi ...but it seems like it will allow a limited no of users on at a time. Once you're in you have no problems at all. I was on this morning, sorted my team out and got off to allow others on. I am now not able to log back on. It seems that they need to disconnect people logged on if there has been no activity for more than 15 min or something like that

I work in high end web development and it's inexcusable for a modern web project to go so badly wrong. This is probably because some half wit web developer failed to properly load test the application. The project was probably developed in an 'agile environment' where no-one takes ownership of the project or gives a damn about users.

      let's be honest here. Say I say that I don't like it. what will that achieve? Nothing I point out makes any difference now, and in a few hours you'll have proof or not of EXACTLY how good your team was (for GW1 at least).
      
      We've had about a billion RMTs anyway, and they all look like that one. If you're desperate just find similar teams on previous posts.

  Mostly good, I think. I have the same strike force and captain, and my only difference in midfield is having N'Zogbia instead of Taraabt (who I replaced this morning with Malouda).
  
  Didn't clock the Given/Kenny fixtures - went with a more simple Given/Schwarzer.
  
  Do you think Enrique will play the full match, rather than just make an appearance as a late sub?
