A strong run of upcoming fixtures for Arsenal sees Theo Walcott ranked highly on our updated Watchlist.

Having suffered an ankle injury during pre-season, the winger made a tentative beginning to the campaign as Arsene Wenger eased him back into first-team action with a thirty minute sub appearance in the opener at Newcastle. Since returning to full fitness, however, Walcott has been a key figure as the Gunners look to rebuild following a summer of key departures.

His contribution to Arsenal’s Champions League qualifying campaign proved crucial, scoring home and away against Udinese as Wenger’s side secured a place in the group stages at the Italian club’s expense. Walcott also scored in the recent 8-2 humiliation at Old Trafford, meaning he has netted three times in four starts for Arsenal this season. Clearly, he’s a man in form and a look at the next six Gameweeks highlights he also has the fixtures- the ideal Fantasy combination, then.

As highlighted in our recent Watchlist article, Arsenal have the kindest run of upcoming games of any top-flight side, with four of the next six games at the Emirates. With (SWA, bla, BOL, tot, SUN, STK) up next, it’s fair to say there’s a substantial chance of the Gunners scoring in every one of those fixtures and although Robin Van Persie will no doubt be the preferred option by many, Walcott is finally showing the consistency that has previously failed him and made him such a frustrating Fantasy choice.

Priced at 9.0 and owned by just 76K Fantasy managers, he looks like flying under the radar in the meantime, though with Brendan Rodgers’ Swansea arriving at the Emirates this Saturday, Walcott looks in the mood to change all that.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I fully endorse a strong attack but not a €36m strong one!

Tone it down at least a little bit.

yeah, I know that 36M for 3 players is "quite" much.

But on the other hand, when I think about this trio, especially when I look at the opponents of Milan, Barca and Real, I believe in enormous amount of points from them in every GW.

in the first place, Obraniak is really cheap - only 4.5 mil.

what is more, I still believe in him and believe that he will get chances to show himself. Even from the bench he may be danger.

Since I didn't have Young, Dzeko or Rooney last gameweek I activated my WIldcard pretty early to catch the price rises.
At the moment this is my idea for a team this weekend:

    Schwarzer - (Vorm)
Warnock - Woodgate - Brown - (DeLaet -Simpson)
    Brunt - Silva - Taarabt - Young - (Dyer)
    VanPersie - Dzeko - Rooney

However, I'm not sure having both RvP, Dzeko and Rooney will justify my weak defence. Would it be wiser to switch RvP into a cheaper forward (Holt, Ruiz or Adebayor), get Arteta on the mid for Arsenal-cover and then beef up my defence?

I'm also questioning my choice of goalkeepers. Fulham and Swansea rotate pretty well for the next few months, but could Krul be cheaper alternative?

Took similar route myself with early WC, wiseman.
Ruiz v tempting but am also not 100% sure. Have RVP n Rooney too, and concerned about week MF if take Suarez (Dzeko rotation risk, so would avoid). In end will probably plump for Ruiz and hope for the best. Arteta too early IMO.
Go Krul. Not sure about Taarabt - I'd take a punt on Barton.

I don't think it would be worth 4 points to take out Yaya and Sess. I expect Yaya to get at least an assist, and Sunderland always threatens Chelsea, so Sess might work some magic as well...

    Too outside the box?

    Given (Vorm)

Enrique, Simpson, Da Laet, (Brown, Woodgate)

    Silva, Ramsey, Walcott, Arteta (Dyer)

    Rooney, Dzeko, Aguero

0.4 in the bank. If I get the extra 0.1, Woodgate to Hughes.

It's a tad different to the masses.

Rotation between the Man City forwards will be a pain, but I can see them all scoring big when they play.

Too many Arsenal midfielders and Given and Vorm don't rotate well. I also really wouldn't have both Dzeko and Aguero. Aguero can go to RvP without too much sacrifice.

Apart from this GW they rotate quite well. It's not just about home games, but opposition and think one of them has a good fixture for a while after GW4.

It's fine (very good in fact as long as you scrap the 3 Arse mids - 2 at most). I'd definitely downgrade Ramsey to Moses/Petrov/Brunt and use the left over cash to sort the defence.

Notably Woodgate to Shawcross. Woodgate looked a bargain, but his comments this week suggest a Ledley King MKII as he doesn't train with the team everyday. Plus Shawcross is a decent goal threat. Possibly Warnock/Hutton as they rotate with De Laet as I presume you'll play Enrique pretty much every week.

Cheers for the replies lads (ManofKent,JustBetter,King Cabbage, hillbillypete and Odem your name is far too long!) 🙂

Ala Ramsey, I see him playing in an attacking role until Wilshere gets back. Tripling up on Ars midfield is certainly risky, but I can see allot of goals coming soon for the Gunners. RVP would be ideal, but damn Rooney destroying the well thought out plan! Will deffo take the advice on board though.

Feel comfortable with Given/Vorm, it was the plan all along anyways, with Given being the main man. Vorms form is a nice perk.

Man City forwards will be rotated, but I see them scoring big when they play or coming on at some point and maybe grabbing a goal. Hopefully Dyer is not often called into use..^^

Defense could use some work, cheers again for the advice.

    A) Bosingwa, N’Zogbia, Rooney

    or
    B) Terry, Downing, Dzeko

The rest of my team is likely to be Givan, Riise, M. Richards, Lampard, Jarvis, SWP, RVP, Suarez

Zog is playing very deep behind Heskey, Bent and Agbon. Villa don't look like they've got enough goals in them for him to collect some points. If you you get rid, I don't feel he'll go and grab 2 goals like Sess might (though nobody is immune from Sod's Law).

Sess (probably not v Chel) is going to come good I feel and a deeper position may well suit him better. Additionally, he is obviously cheaper.

Is it worth trading out people for a hit in order not to have a price drop? I read someone last season who said it was worth it at this stage of the season.

Points > value, in my book.

Sure, keeping an eye on value can help in the long run - but it shouldn't be the decisive factor, imo.

No, only if you can't put a team out,or have really found someone you'd rather have otherwise you could be taking 12pt hits every other week just in case.

My view is that as the season progress points become more important than value.

For now you have a lot of time to make up lost points, and moving your squad is more difficult as you have less excess cash, once you've made value you tend to have cash in the bank, and trying to save value is less critical.

Its a balancing act, and while its debatable whether its ever worth it, its definitely more worth taking points hits now than later.

I know that someone here will know. I've just been looking through the fixtures for Sunday and Monday games. When fixtures get to December there are no Sunday fixtures. Are these arranged nearer the time? If so when and why? Many thanks.

I'm pretty sure the TV games are agreed by Sky in batches through the season. Presumably the first batch only reaches so far...

    Wildcard team is currently

    Krul Vorm
    Ward TaylorS Bosingwa DaLeat (Shawcross)
    Arteta Silva Young (PetrovM, Dyer)
    Dzeko Suarez Rooney

    Debating whether to do
    Suarez + Arteta -> RvP + 5.8 midfielder
Maybe leaves my midfield too weak?

    Other suggestions welcome

Does Nasri being yellow flagged mean his price can't rise or fall?? Or does the protection period only kick in once his flag is removed??

Hiya lads, just a very curious question i have:

Not saying you would have either of these two in your team, but IF you had to choose out of MIKEL or LUCAS, who would you have?

Also, anyone know if Given is set to play even though he's been yellow flagged?

Cheers, any comments much appreciated 🙂

I'd go Lucas, largely because Ramires or Meireles might be used to rotate (I could have that bungled a bit, I just feel Lucas is more likely 'nailed on').

      I'd guess Given plays.

Given played the full 90 mintues (very well) for Ireland on Tuesday, I think he'll be fine.

If I HAD to choose, probably Lucas, but I'd rather have Dyer for 4.5.

cheers for the reply lads, i shall have a think about lucas, as like you say he is a sure nailed on starter and plays the usual 90 full minutes in a good side, whereas mikel does seem to get subbed surprisingly an aweful lot.

Like i say i shall havea think, but i think mikel has hit some form recently, even with the unfortunate events that have surrounded his dad etc, plus chelsea will shock a few people i feel over the next coming gameweeks. Just wait until the 'Mata magic' kicks in haha, who of which i have in my team also and have a lot of faith in.

Cheers again, the thinking continues 🙂

The problem with defensive mids in general is that they're only likely to get bonus in 0-0 draws (with goals and assits being so important for bonus,) and you don't expect Chelsea to get too many of them.

since the last time i looked (leaving work at 5.30) the dzeko has shot up way beyond 100% (i'd say a 25% rise in 3 hours)

does anyone else prefer suarez to him? This is wayyy to scary NOT to have him if he performs???

imo Suarez > Dzeko ... although I'm thinking of swapping him out for RVP.

He's central to 'Pool and less likely to be rotated, I reckon.

yeah but all this chat recently about KK adamant on resting him. Agreed, he only needs to come on for 10 mins and score but i dont think he's played a 90 mins yet? so as far as i'm concerned he's as big a rotation threat as dzeko at mo???

ok. dzeko it is. I'll leave money in the bank for the copa genius if it all goes pear shaped

How come there is no love for Andre Santos?

Very impressive record at Fenerbahce (even for a midfielder) and very favourable fixtures. I know their form is garbage but with the new signings surely a few clean sheets will be coming.

    Any thoughts?

He will probably be very good, but I for one don't want to be the lemon with all these new signings bench warming or making ten minute cameos for their first three games. I think most would rather wait and see if they are regular first team league players or in for cup games.
