[sbu_large_image] Injuries

On the back of today’s draw at Stoke, reports suggest Wayne Rooney may be sidelined “for a few weeks“ according to quotes attributed to Sir Alex Ferguson.

“Rooney’s is not a serious injury, but it was enough to keep him out today, and I think maybe for a few weeks.”

While we await further confirmation on the prognosis, the news will come as a bitter blow to the 50.1% of Fantasy managers that currently own the Man United striker. Rooney has been subject to nearly 350K transfers-in over the last four Gameweeks as he racks up the points with ridiculous ease and has rocketed in price to 12.5 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL).

With Norwich rolling up to Old Trafford, Rooney would be a nailed-on cert for captaincy in the showdown with Paul Lambert’s side and with Javier Hernandez also limping out of today’s Britannia clash, the likes of Danny Welbeck, Dimitar Berbatov and Michael Owen will be vying for starting positions as Fergie’s side looking to get back to winning ways.

If the news is confirmed, many may turn to the likes of Robin Van Persie- the Arsenal skipper finally began to offer Fantasy returns this afternoon with a brace against Bolton and the 3 bonus points surely set to follow. With just 5.4% of owners, the Dutchman would be a viable “differential” and has a favourable run of fixtures ahead. As does 11.3 Sergio Aguero, though the Man City forward is already owned by 39.7% of Fantasy managers in comparison.

We will follow up on this as soon as we hear any more; hopefully the next twenty-four hours will offer further clarification.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Anyone, who's been studying the bonus points allocation from the past weeks, care to have a guess at the potential beneficiaries of the system this week?

Why is everyone so sure Kompany will get them. If they give them out for a cleanie, Clichy has just as good a chance.

I watched the game today and think Silva 3 Aguero 2 Kompany 1, Kompany brought the ball out of defence a few times, didn't give it away and made some interceptions.
          Didn't see any other games

If that's the logic, I would think that Richards would have a much better shot at bonus than Kompany.

Goals = bp's then count down to involevement in goals then defensive performances.

Keeper could save 10 penalties and still would'nt get a sniff.

Do you not have another midfielder that you'd rather get rid of than Jarvis? If you can afford the same transfers that is... I'd sooner keep Jarvis than Brunt or Moses (although unlikely you could afford Nani from selling him).

Make one transfer for this week and keep the two for after the international break when you can look at the injury situation etc.

Or make the first two if you have the money.

I'd say they've been pretty accurate so far. I've been watching pretty frequently, but basically as soon as the player reaches >90% they can rise. Got burned on Aguero earlier in the week when he was at 90% and the price went up, so that's my new ceiling to play it safe

Have just had a closer look at the qualification rules, to stay in, your weekly rank has to always be in the top 1000000? One average week and you're out? No wonder there are only a handful of qualifiers! 😉

Alot easier in the 2nd half of the season (Millionaire Club) with the 2nd wildcard. Was always going to be easier to run than the MC. Yep, one average week & you're out, anyone can win. Consistent player wins.

      Dunno
He looked really good last season....
Cant see a better striker for 6.1 (except Klasnic when hes back)
After that only Aggy gets close but hes 6.8 now

Good as long as Rooney doesn't get well for the game vs. Norwich at OT.

cheers man, lol yeh i know, i really doubt he will play it though anyway mate, i mean its norwich, even if he was fit he may of only played 50 odd mins if that, or not at all even, and he's too much to have sitting on my bench wasting away.
Anyway cheers dude, it shall pay off i'm reckoning 🙂

F*ck. If Rooney is out for the next weekend, that means I got no United coverage. Don't think I want 12.5 sitting on the bench, so might just straight swap Rooney for Aguero. Better to go with no United cover in the next week? If I want someone form United in midfield, that means I have to transfer out Mata or Silva.

I'm in EXACTLY the same position Lrf. I have Rooney but no Aguero, and no other Utd cover. Mata and Silva are my only options to get Nani in.

My advice? Sit tight for a few days and contemplate. Don't rush into anything and then re-evaluate.

      That's what I'm doing

The thing that realy annoys me about this Rooney injury was that it was kept so quiet. Having to follow twitter feeds from his missus and himself just to fit all the clues together. Just tell us on Friday wayne is injured!!!!!!!!!

    A. Keep Suarez
    B. Get Adebayor in order to do Dzeko to Aguero

So what is everyone doing with Rooney? Its an easy transfer if he's confirmed out for Norwich, when he has Liverpool and City after that. I'm going to wait until later in the week and if it looks like he's out for Norwich I can transfer him out for Hernandez/Aguero/Drogba, then transfer Walcott > Nani for a 4 point hit.
The only annoying thing is that it's going to be difficult to get him back in when I have a selling price of 12.2.
    Thought's?

Yeah Rooney's price should be protected now that he's red flagged.
I'm tempted by Drogba next week actually. Can see him carving up Bolton.
