Roberto Mancini has tonight stated that he wants Carlos Tevez “out of the club” after the Argentinian striker refused to play a part from the bench in City’s Champions League tie in Munich.

In a story that will likely run and run over the coming days, the Italian has tonight made a damning statement that appears to break Tevez’ ties with the club once and for all.

“If I have my way he will be out of the club. He’s finished with me…For me it’s a bad situation. In a game like this it’s important for a player to help the team. This is impossible.”

Tevez appeared to be openly objecting to Mancini on the bench in the second-half; the City boss later revealing that he had intended on introducing the striker in an attempt to recover tonight’s 2-0 defeat to an impressive Bayern outfit.

“He refused to come on the pitch. What I said to Carlos is between me, him and the team…I am really disappointed because it is Carlos…We will speak about this with the chairman in the next few days.”

Developments will undoubtedly unfold over the rest of the week, but tonight’s events and particularly Mancini’s comments, will now surely bring the Tevez situation to a head following a turbulent spell at the club.

“If we want to improve as team Carlos can’t play with us. With me, he is finished.”

For Fantasy managers, should Tevez be frozen out at City, it will certainly reduce the uncertainty surrounding the rotation of Mancini’s strikers – presumably cementing Sergio Aguero’s starting role further.

Certainly Aguero’s start for Saturday’s trip to Blackburn looks assured after Mancini also moved to punish Edin Dzeko’s petulance following his substitution in tonight’s game. Dzeko was replaced on 55 minutes by Nigel De Jong, reacting angrily to the decision from his manager. Mancini has stated post-match that the Bosnian striker will now be benched on Saturday as a result.

“Next time he will stay on the bench with me.”

This will come as another blow for Dzeko’s Fantasy owners who have suffered nothing but uncertainty since his four goal spree at White Hart Lane. Mancini will presumably now turn to Mario Balotelli for the Ewood Park trip – a player who has himself courted controversy during his City career.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Tevez has just said (in Spanish of course) that the only manager he is prepared to play for this year is Attila the Bum. Tevez claims Attila was the only manager who stuck by Tevez through the bad times and was prepared to hand him the captaincy for Wigan at home.

Since you didn't ask me, which I quite upset about btw, I'll tell you anyway.

On 41 thanks mainly to CR7 (c), Hazard and Pereira. Had Cardozo and Pereira from Benfica, so seeing Pereira whip in a perfect cross only for Cardozo to head it straight at the keeper from five yards out hurt a bit.

Still got Rybka, Abate, Ruiz, Fucile, Gotze, Jadson and Messi to play. Will be on 34 after subs.

      Great story jamsiep.

Like I said on the last page, and annoyingly got no bites, if I'd known the Ballon d'Or Jones + David Oh Dear comedy act would playing, I'd have probably kept Frei. 😉

Annoyingly strongly considered Giggs for tonight. Narrowed it down to Dzagoev (goal), Sir Ryan (2 assists) and Alonso (5 recovered balls ;)).

          Obviously chose Alonso.

why do you feel sorry for him?? he is constantly seeking a scapegoat if they fail or underachieve. he has been given the funds to buy any player he dreams of yet he still moans about injuries and 'a lack of midfielders'.
he plays 2 up front against one of the top sides in europe in their own backyard and when they go 2 down decides to bring on a defensive midfielder for a striker.
he plays a defender who has been outy for months against a rather prolific striker....

2 free transfers this week - any better moves than just Dzeko -> Agbonlahor? News of Dzeko starting on the bench on Saturday coupled with Agbonlahor's form and fixtures makes it seem the right move. Also, if I save the other transfer I can bring Walcott or Mata for Sessegnon next week...

True, they still have good fixtures to come and he appears good value. I thought about transferring him in this evening before his price rise but worry about how many chances Villa will create for him with McLeish as their manager.

In the end, went for Balotelli. Much more exciting 🙂

Yeah that's the big concern. Hopefully N'Zogbia will remember how to play football soon. Balotelli - haha, good luck with that! He'll probably get sent off. Would you go with Adebayor instead of Agbonlahor if it meant you couldn't get Walcott/Mata/VDV in for Sessegnon the following week?

Yep, he's the other player I'm looking at. Downside being Spurs don't have great fixtures and it doesn't free up enough cash to do Sessegnon to a midfilder in the 9-10m range. Which route you think is best?

I thinkbthis season so far has proven that fixtures don't mean a great deal.

I guess you have to ask yourself (ignoring price rises) - who is gonna score more points realistically? Gabby in a defensively set up Villa team or Adebayor in a Spurs team that play some good stuff....
