While a recent run of results has seen Bolton plummet to the bottom of the Premier League table, an upturn in their forthcoming fixtures offers hope. Though six straight defeats have left their opening day win at QPR a distant memory, the form of Martin Petrov has been the one shining light for Owen Coyle’s side.

The Bulgarian has been an ever-present in the Trotters side to date and, playing every minute of their campaign, has already notched up 4 assists- just one less than David Silva and more than the likes of Nani. Given that we’re just approaching Gameweek eight, this is a significant step up from the form of last season, where the Bulgarian managed a total of five and is indicative of his flourishing role in Bolton’s attacking play.

A total of 32 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) points to date has seen Petrov cement his position as a viable mid-price option this term and is all the more impressive considering he’s faced five of last season’s top six from Gameweek two onwards. He’s also found the net, scoring a penalty in the absence of regular taker Kevin Davies in the 2-1 defeat by Norwich.

With a run of games that reads (wig, SUN, swa, STO, wba, EVE) kicking off as of this weekend, Petrov firmly establishes himself in our updated Watchlist rankings. His delivery from out wide- he’s third top for successful crosses this term- and set-piece duties only add to the appeal and it’s obvious that if Owen Coyle is to orchestrate a climb out of the drop zone, his left winger will be crucial to the Trotters’ fortunes.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Meanwhile a zillion miles away in south America Suarez came through his qualifier unscathed and assisted Forlan's goal last night. Should be on a plane today, with a ticket straight into my team should Aguero still be injured.

I've spent nearly two weeks now trying to figure out what to do with my two free transfers, but I'm too heavy up front to be able to get in a decent midfielder....! Any thoughts would be appreciated!

    Vorm-Given
    Simpson-Enrique-Kompany-Bosingwa-Brown
    Sessegnon-Moses-Ramsey-Silva-Dyer
    Suarez-v.Persie-Rooney

Was thinking Sessegnon and Brown out, for a 4.0 def and a decent mid, but I can't afford the likes of Bale, Modric, VDV, Nani, Mata etc....

I've had Given and Vorm since the start and they rotate horribly. Maybe downgrade Given to someone who rotates better with Vorm (lots on here have gone Ruddy) to find an extra 0.5. Personally i'm gonna stick with the Given-Vorm combo and just bring in Vorm when Shay is injured but it's an option for you.

If you don't want to lose one of your big hitters up front, the only other place you can downgrade is your defence obviously. Losing Bosingwa for Taylor will allow you to then do Sessegnon to Modric or Bale (who were on your list of potential midfield upgrades).

Yeah they fielded a kids team, but it was the Czech results that hurt us the hardest. In the second half we played well and had chances to pull it to 3-2. I think we gave account for ourselves against Spain scoring 3 times in two games against the Spanish is no easy feat. Onwards and upwards now to focus on Brazil 2014

How would you rate the chances of my cheapies for points this GW? Just one of them will play, the other three are my bench.
    At the moment it is:
    1. NDyer (nor) - at least 2 pts, an odd assist/goal may happen
    2. Buzsaky (BLA) - unlikely to play BUT if plays (e.g. instead of Taraabt), may score nicely with his spot kicks
    3. Ward (wba) - cleanie not likely, most probably 1 or 2 pts
    4. Simpson (TOT) - cleanie not likely, most probably 1 or 2 pts

Tempted to push Buzsaky up to 1 - the risk is of course a 1-pointer for a late sub display.
    How would you rate them?

    Ramsey Nani VdV Dyer Silva

Don't really want to sacrifice any of those (Dyer is the obviousd one, but he is my bargain basement midfielder)

gorrd i seen this post a few times yesterday. have you got your both w/c's left? if 2 i'd consider dropping one now, all the players you've listed to buy are on the rise, the ones your getting rid of are going down, the longer you wait the less chance you'll have of affording the team you want. also you've no rooney and a huge lack of citeh coverage.

I threw my WC last week. From previous seasons I have found the international breaks to be a good time to play the wc. It basically gives you an extra week to tinker with your team and if you are canny you can play the market at the same time and gain a few squid in player values along the way. Works for me.....

I know what is going to happen, it will be:
            A. VdV plays behind Adebayor, scores a goal and assist and I get him in, for him to be replaced by Defoe the week after
            B. VdV plays on the wing or is even dropped, Kuyt plays...I take a punt on him and Henderson comes in.

From GW 9-11 I need a defender for 6.3 max. looking at the ticker the two best teams are

    Liverpool - NOR wba SWA
    Villa - WBA sun NOR

    My Backline is -

    Given Kenny
    Simpson Hutton Enrique Bramble Naylor

So I would either be tripling in Villa or doubling on Liverpool, both risky but could be lucrative. Next on the list are Bolton & Wigan and i dont fancy either of them keeping cleanies whoever they play. Any suggestions?

Both teams conceding more than you'd expect this season. Tripling on a single team's defence is is a huge gamble so maybe go Kelly as a differential (assuming Johnson is still injured).

As an alternative Stoke have 4 very handy home fixtures in the next 6. I'd be leaning more towards Shawcross or Woodgate than Villa/L'Pool players to get better balance.

Not the most exciting of options, but which do you guys think is best? Reasoning would be great too! Thanks

    Bank 0.2m, 1 Free transfer

    Given, Ruddy
    Bosingwa, Dunne, Brown, Simpson, Senderos
    Nani, Silva, Ramsey, Sinclair, Moses
    RVP, Suarez, Adebayor

    a) Save the transfer and play Dunne(mcy) or Brown(ars)
    b) Senderos -> Woodgate and bench those in a)
    c) Senderos -> N Taylor and bench those in a)
    d) Something else

Perhaps, but I like Villa's fixtures from GW9-11, after which i'll wildcard and he'll be out. Not ideal, but don't mind benching him this week. Senderos not even playing so he is first on the list...

Senderos is a waste of time. He's injured now but wasnt even playing when he was fit so get rid IMO

Well Ramsey is playing much further while Song, Arteta sitting and they have two home games coming up. Petrov takes a lot of set pieces and good fixtures to come. I have two frees so maybe I may use something elsewhere and do these two next week as Taarabt/Brunt fixtures get tougher from then on

Taarabt is on some free kicks and on penalties, Brunt is also on free kicks and penalties and both play forward.
So those points dont really work, Ramsey hasnt been playing good and has been lucky of sorts, and could possibly be rotated once Diaby returns (Along with Djourou and Koscielny)

I have Silva, Nani, Young at the moment... would like to swap out young for someone....

My concern with VDV is this
        1) I already have Adebayor
        2) He may share time with Defoe after the recent spat he had about playing on the wing...

I had Nasri and sold him... (DOH!)
