The next instalment in our “Talent” series for Members turns the spotlight on Chris Eagles. These articles focus on players whose recent fixtures have seen an upturn in Fantasy fortunes and, with 35 points since gameweek eight, the Trotters winger is ripe for analysis.

Using our own ICT Index and the Opta stats available, we sift through the data to determine just how much of an extra impact Eagles has made in recent games. With 3 goals and 1 assist over those four matches, he’s been the driving force behind a couple of wins that have lifted the Trotters off the foot of the table and sees them sit just three points off eleventh place.

Breaking down the campaign into two distinct parts, here’s a look at his performances compared to Martin Petrov on the flank for Owen Coyle’s side…

Seen earlier someone said Bosingwa will drop tonight, he won't will he? I'm still working out whether to get Brown or McAuley in.

The thing with McAuley is it allows me an extra 0.5 to allow me to get Rooney back in when i need him. I'm 0.3 short otherwise.

I have this team after using one of my two free transfers (Hennessey OUT Krul IN)

    Krul//Vorm
    Shawcross//Enrique//Warnock//Simpson//N.Taylor
    Silva//Eagles//Ramsey//VDV//Dyer
    Rooney//RVP//Adebayor

    0.0 in the bank.

    I can do:

    (A) Warnock OUT Brown IN
    (B) Ramsey OUT Drenthe IN (leaning towards this, Ramsey is assisting the assister week in, week out)

    (A) or (B)?

Would go with A just because Ramsey has a good chance of some good points within the next 3 weeks due to the fact he is playing quite high up with RVP so should get some assists or even goals. Give him another week especially against norwich and make the change in defence.

It's not bad, but not very good either. Your top priorities should be getting rid of Bogdan and Augustien.

Not much point in having a keeper who never plays, put Ruddy or Kenny in and you at least have somewhat of a rotation option, although Vorm has proven to be capable of collecting points in even the hardest fixtures.

When it comes to Augustien, he's been injured and is getting back to fitness, but hard to say when he will regain his place as Gower has done a good job filling in. His price is also hard to replace, do you have anything in the bank? If not, then downgrade one of the two toon defenders as they have horrible fixtures ahead. (Saylor>Wilkinson/McAuley, Augustien>Pilkington?)

I wouldn't keep Robinson either, but given Boltons fixtures I guess he could be kept for the time being..the rest of your squad is good, maybe not worth doubling up on Spurs midfield. Maybe downgrade Bale to Walters/Sess/Drenthe/O'Hara/Ramsey/Brunt, and upgrade Augustien to one of these aswell?

yes you're right I have to address these 2 non playing players, I've been hoping that none of my starting XI get injured but that's a real possibility. I must sort out Agustien and Bogdan before looking at the rest, he says relunctantly.

Can't argue with wikipedia I guess. Shawcross, Upson, Huth, Woodgate, Higginbotham all CB on wiki. Doesn't leave much room for LBs & RBs. Shotton won't play, Collins on loan. There could be a shuffle now Higginbotham's back and it could effect Wilkinson's starting place. Maybe.

Hello! If you were me, would you take a hit to change anything? I have no free transfers left this week.

    Vorm (Ruddy)
Kompany, JoseEnrique, Rangel (Taylor R, Taylor S)
    VDV, Silva, Walters, MPetrov (Dyer)
    RVP, Aguero, Agbon

My biggest concern is Petrov at the moment. And Agbon but only because he's injured. I'm also thinking it might be time to ship out Taylor S who has been a good till now but not so confident Newcastle will keep up their incredible run. I have a future question mark over Aguero - not sure if he is earning his premium over Dzeko, but not sure how reliable the latter is though.

The big question is should I take some pain, or am I looking solid enough to muddle through to GW20 WC? (Free WC already used)

We have the same midfield and Petrov is certainly the weak link.

I'm thinking Drenthe for a punt.

If it doesn't work, there's always someone like Eagles in 3 GWs.

I hear a lot of Drenthe talk and feel like I must be missing something, as his record isn't mightily impressive. Is it the DGW prospects, or is it just that he's got a lot of untapped potential?

Mostly untapped potential. He had great promise but rotted on the madrid bench. Anybody who watched him in la liga would know he is very inconsistent. But with everton good fixtures and his very advanced attacking position, he looks a goodin.

Unrecognised potential, imho. Also, Everton's mid are crap and have been reduced to playing 17 year old (?) Barkley when Drenthe was banned. Everton's fixtures a prime. He's very well worth a punt, and I have done it.

Too much Chelsea going on, there's quite a bit you could do to improve that team. Is it a WC? if not then yeah, ship out Ramires first maybe for Drenthe?

Bosingwa/Enrique could also do with being shipped out for maybe Brown/McAuely? Given/Sturridge are fine for a couple more GWs or so.

Good question, I recently moved to America and my European Xbox is on the fritz, I want Unchartered/Infamous and I heard BF3 looks waaay better on the PS3, so those games alone are making me re-think whether I want to go across to the dark side.

I have a Blu Ray player, but if I didn't, the PS3 would be even easier to choose for me. Xbox Live is a better system than PSN, from what I gather from yearly installments of Madden and Fifa, frame rate is always better on Xbox 360, but it should only be a matter of time before PS3 is utilizing it's full potential.

Sorry I can't help more, I am in the same place.

Gabby has tricky fixtures and an injury doubt. I've had him a long time and always had this week down as the time to get rid.

I'd like Man City offensive coverage, but i don't really trust any of them to start every game.

I really think Drenthe will score points over the next 6 weeks, but Moses perhaps deserves one last chance home to Blackburn?

If silva plays vs costa rica then good chance nasri will play this GW depending on his injury. I would ditch parker for drenthe, take a hit if you feel like a gamble. I've only had one hit pay off this season and that was with walters.

    WC advice?

Westwood, BAE, N Taylor, Drenthe vs Howard, Brown, McAuley, Eagles

    Rest of team:

    Vorm
    Enrique, Simpson, Wilkinson
    Silva, VDV, Lamps, Pilkington
    RVP, Dzeko, Ba/Bendy

Ba sells for the same price Bends would be to bring in, but i can't make myself do it even if Ba's next couple of fixtures are crap, after that they're alright.
I've seen a lot of love for Howard/Vorm, but this seems to be the choice i'd have to make to spend an extra mil on my keepers..

This is mad - you have no MU coverage. You should defo be looking at Hernandez, Nani, Jones, Rooney IMO

None of the United options stand out

Jones - Going for a budget defence, he's not quite worth it.
        Hernandez/Wellbeck - rotation risk
Nani - Off form, if it comes to it I can swap any of my 3 big midfielders for him.
Rooney - Oop, and not on top form, if he starts firing I can just swap him in for anyone else

        Form > Fixtures right now

Who are the idiots that keep on claiming Higginbotham is a threat to Wilkinson's spot?

Higginbotham has never, and will never be considered as a right back. The only threat to Wilkinson is Rob Huth. Where the hell has the rubbish originated from anyway? Own up.

Would you still class wilkinson as a rotation risk? I heard Huth was awful at RB

Its hard to say. Wilkinson is certainly TP's preferred choice and he will be played in all important games. The only worry is TP's tendancy to rest players frequently with the European campaign viewed as massively important for us this season, but he Shawx is equally at risk from this.

Still worth owning FF wise IMO.

In fairness to the idiots, Wilko was subbed off last game, for Higgo. Wilko started at LB, with Huth at RB. Pulis has gone a bit funny with his defenders this year- why isn't Huth getting a look-in at CB? Surely Wilko-Shawcross-Huth-Higgo is the best line-up....

Yeah i'm aware of that. Wilko covered at LB for Wilson who was rested. This doesn't mean he will lose his position as first choice RB.

I don't know why Huth has fallen out of favour at CB, I can only guess that TP see's the Shawx and Woodgate league partnership as the one he see's as the strongest long term. Hard to argue with that - there isn't many better in the league than a fully fit Woodgate.

Huth started last season at RB, with Faye and Shawx at CB.

With Fayes injuries and loss of form, he then decided to play Huth at CB and Wilkinson then played the majority of games as first choice RB. Wilson also played the odd game at RB.

    Team for wk12

    Vorm, Krul

I see Wilkinson as the priority to be honest, he wont keep his place (never does) and Newcastle and City have some sticky fixtures on the horizon. Relying on Wilkinson and a Norwich is a recipe for zero points. Ferguson needs to be swapped too but your other mids and fwds are likely to start (barring injury)

Tough question tho, I have Brunt and want to bring in Drenthe - Everton have 4 home fixtures in nxt 6 so maybe Drenthe shades it for that

As for my defence, I honestly counldn't care less about defenders this year. They've all done f-all besides newcastle boys and Richards. I'll take my 2 points and change it when I have no other pending transfer

Moses? No way - defo Eagles or anyone else.
I'd go Brunt over Sinclair and Walters. All 3 are on pens but Brunt has better fixtures and more likely to score or create in open play.
Ruddy is a waste, you'll never want to play him and he'll get you nothing if Begs ever gets dropped or injured, pay the extra .5 for Vorm, Krul, Al Habsi or Henn (Vorm and Henn rotate well until Jan)
I like the rest of it

In the same boat, just gonna wait till nearer the time, dont think hes gonna rise from 3.9 anytime soon so not much rush, unless you are freeing up cash for someone else. I know they are solid at home, but i'm not too bothered about rushing him in to play manu anyway, prob just wait and see if he gets a game. big test for his first game back if he plays.
