A run of three home matches in the next four gameweeks elevates Scott Sinclair in our recently updated Watchlist rankings. The winger, priced at 6.2, has been one of the main beneficiaries of Swansea’s outstanding record at the Liberty Stadium and with 50 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) points to date, is second only to Michel Vorm (55) amongst the options in Brendan Rodgers’ squad.

With the Swans conceding just once in front of their own fans, Sinclair’s classification as a FPL midfielder has helped boost his points, with clean sheets bumping up his returns four times out of five in the first eleven gameweeks.

His penalty duties have also been essential to Sinclair’s Fantasy prospects- despite having failed to find the net from open play this season, he has scored in the last three home games in succession from the spot. As a result, he has returned 36 points from five Liberty Stadium games- an average of 7.2 per game.

Compare this to his 14 points from six away visits- an average of just over 2.3 per game; the difference of almost 5 points in home/away Fantasy returns is indicative of Swansea’s contrasting fortunes and highlights just why their home performances will be so critical to their top-flight survival.

Up next, then, is (MUN, AVL, bla, FUL). While the visit of Man United will provide the stiffest test of their home form to date, Rodgers’ side will stick to the passing principles that saw them pick up a draw and clapped off the field for their display at Anfield last time round.

Home showdowns with Aston Villa and Fulham will certainly hold no fear either; the former have yet to win on the road, while Fulham’s only away victory came at off-form Wigan. If anything, Swansea will go into both clashes as favourites. Sandwiched in between is the trip to Blackburn- it’s fair to say that with the Venky’s owners still firmly behind Steve Kean, Rovers are a possible source of points for any team right now and Sinclair -fully recovered from the hamstring problem that restricted his role to that of a sub at Liverpool last time out- will fancy his chances of breaking that barren run on the road come gameweek fourteen at Ewood Park.

Come on then, Captain Leighton, do me proud. I realise it's a bold gamble considering he could easily only score a me single point but I like a high-risk strategy! Now watch him go and miss a penalty, crack a free-kick against the bar, and concede a goal in the final minute with Everton leading 3-0...

For something a bit different, Begovic and Hennessey rotate really well. Stoke are strong at home and only De Gea and Friedel (49) have made more saves than Hennessey (47).

Any thoughts on who to bench for this week out of the following?:

    Given Vorm

    Kompany NTaylor Simpson Evans Shawcross

    Silva VDV Ramsey Walters Dyer

    RVP Hernandez Dzeko

Would also appreciate any opinions on how to improve the team. I have 1.3m in the bank and no free transfers.

    Thanks.

Bags of confidence after scoring for Ireland and now with a great chance to make it to Euro 2012, I think Walters finishes with 9-10 league goals and at 6.3M you can't do too much better. Crouch knock downs / penalties and he's brimming w/ confidence at the moment.

Yep it certainly will if Hernandez and Welbeck start. He was very deep against Sunderland and will have to rely on penalties I reckon. It's almost as if he was the quarter-back in recent games.

Can anyone remember if VDV played a whole Christmas schedule last season? I'm worried about his fitness / hamstrings holding out... Spurs play on 18th Dec / 22nd / 27th / 31st / 3rd Jan. I can definitely see VDV not playing all of those, reckon Bale could be a much safer bet.

The only GWs that VDV missed last season were GWs1-3, 11, 16-18, 27-29 (27 was a DGW!) and 38. So he missed 3 successive GWs in December (might have been injured or suspended).

Heres my tactical preview on everton v wolves - Drenthe for Everton and Hunt for Wolves probably the most likely points scorers from either side based on our dodgy right side and the directness of Drenthe.

Will Drenthe start? According to Guardian line-ups he will be on bench.

I am getting Drenthe in place of M Petrov anyway. Surely he will do better than Petrov 😀

Do it, Metrov is most likely to be on the bench than Drenthe.

    Given, (Vorm)
Kompany, Shawcross, Jones (S Taylor, Enrique)
    Silva, VDV, Nani, Ramsey, Moses
    RVP, Sturrudge (Graham)
    Bank = 0.0!

    Team is

    Vorm ( Given )
Enrique Walker ShawX ( Simpson Shorey )
Mata Silva VDV Rodwell ( Dyer )
    Suarez Sturridge RVP (C)

1 FT – no cash in the bank

    Undecided as to whether to

A Given to Westwood – bench Vorm – need to get rid of Given anyhow
B Shorey to Turner – bench Enrique
C Shorey to McCauley – Bench Enrique
D Suarez to Adebayour – play defence as they are
E Suarez to Bendy – again play defence as they are
F One of Suarez changes as they are but use surplus to go Shorey to Jags for a 4 point hit

Need to make a decision so any help would be great?!

A but not Westwood as there is no rotation. Krul gives you a better rote as does Kenny. Otherwise, save a million by bringing in Ruddy and let him sit on the bench.

      + billions.

Why get Ramsay, Sinclair, et al when the Milkman does the same job for a team that sets out to attack each week?
