Luis Suarez is given more time to answer his improper misconduct charge. Fergie talks festive rotation, while the injuries pile up for Steve Kean ahead of the weekend game against West Brom.

Sir Alex Ferguson has given Fantasy managers early warning of his Christmas plans, with rotation very much on his mind. The United boss admitted he plans to utilise his squad ahead of a busy run of games over the next few weeks. With the champions facing a favourable run of fixtures, careful, risk-free planning looks essential for those considering their Fantasy assets over the festive period, in order to avoid disappointment:

December is a particularly busy month when we often play eight or nine games. We’ve got a Boxing Day Game, a New Year’s Eve game..it’s going to be a hectic spell and that’s when the squad really kicks in.

The FA has afforded Luis Suarez extra time to answer the improper conduct charge leveled against the Uruguayan following an alleged gesture towards Fulham supporters in the 5/12 Craven Cottage fixture. Suarez had initially been given until 4pm yesterday to respond but the deadline has since been extended. Liverpool have also been granted more time to answer a charge of failing to keep their players in an orderly fashion following the sending off of Jay Spearing in the same fixture.

Anton Ferdinand is expected to be sidelined for a couple of weeks due to a hamstring problem. The centre-half was subbed off at Anfield on Saturday with the problem and Neil Warnock expects either Fitz Hall or Matthew Connolly to be given a chance in Ferdinand’s absence. Warnock also revealed Heidar Helguson was rested for the trip to Liverpool and will be available to lead the line against Man United. In further QPR injury news, Warnock admitted Paddy Kenny could be available for selection on Sunday, though with Radek Cerny is such strong form, Kenny faces a fight to return to the first XI.

Alan Pardew is optimistic that both Cheick Tiote and Fabricio Coloccini will be available for Newcastle’s home clash with Swansea this weekend. Good news for Pardew in the centre-half area- Mike Williamson will turn out for the reserves tonight as he picks up the pace in his recovery from an ankle injury, though is regarded as “a long shot†for Saturday’s game. Pardew had to play Danny Simpson and James Perch at centre-half in the 4-2 loss at Norwich due to limited options.

Andre Santos is out for three months after undergoing ankle ligament surgery. The Arsenal left-back picked up the problem in last week’s Champions League match in Olympiacos and his loss means Thomas Vermaelen is likely to fill i

I thought he had a relatively quiet game-he had two assists but also had two shots that missed the target. I did think last night he may not get any and as we have seen more starkly with other games it's not the 'game changer' who necessarily gets the bp's under this system.

Would've loved a Mata penalty, Saw in AVB's interview he said Drog and Mata wanted to take it, but Mata was the actual taker now.

Lamps had 1 less ppi than Sturridge I think, I don't understand this system at all.

Suarez is a nightmare... I was hoping he would be banned so I could get rid but now he's been given 'longer' to respond. I just know he is about to explode, or could, but watching him smash shots all over the place is so frustrating. Any other Suarez holders sticking? I think I am until/if a ban kicks in.

Nice rank so far and 2 seasons ago - what on earth happened last season?!!?

If I was still a Suarez owner I'd ditch him - I think there's too many other good options up top - Adebayor, Rooney, Ba, Sturridge and obviously RVP.

I know, I gave it a miss last season and just left the team to rot. Ba or Ade are my options but still reluctant to sell Suarez, at least until Friday's team news. Watching him when he is in your team is painful.

    Here's my team for GW16:

    Vorm
    JE JE Simpson
    Nani Silva Bale Sinclair
    RVP (C) Studge Ba
    Subs – Moses Brown Wilko
0 FT 4.0 Bank WC available

    Which would you recommend?

    B. Wilko > Terry (playing a 4-3-3)

Perhaps now is the time to start working on your squad rather than shifting good/expensive players around then. I got a few doubts in my team that I should perhaps take care off instead of doing VDV->Nani

VDV is really annoying me. I can easily see him being benched this weekend but yet i'd rather have him against Sunderland then Nani away in an early kick off. Too late now anyway, Nani is 10 and VDV is down to 9.9. Lost soo much on hm! A simple Dyer -> Rodwell move for me this week.

I probably should have done Dyer > Gower as bench fodder, but thought i'd wait a week to see if Dyer has actually lost his place.
Okay, who am I kidding, it was just too boring for me!

and that's another reason for my madness this week. tired of the "slow and steady wins the race" approach.

i'm sure you have little niggles like we all do but surely the biggest headache that keeps you awake at night is VDV > Nani?

i made that move and feel 10x better for it.

Rotation makes Rooney more desirable than Nani over xmas for me. He seems to play most games when fit, and Hernandez is possibly out until the new year.

Valid point. Could be a crucial decision. It would certainly be a lot easier to captain Rooney over Nani for the easy home games in GW 18-19 though.

    Kompany->Taylor (SWA)
    VdV->Nani
    (both free)
[ and maybe Ramsey->up to 8.4m mid (for 4 pt hit)]

    or

    B:
Kompany->Jagielka (i.e. double up on Everton defence 'til after DGW)
    VdV->Nani

I'd go for A or wait one GW more to see how VDV plays against Sunderland, but then again you'll miss the price rise on Nani...

I'm personally considering transferring Kompany out after his next two home games or right before GW20 if he performs for a TOT defender and the wildcard after DGW.

    Random Sturridge BP thoughts.

If you look at the soccernet livescore player performance data, for example, you'll see only one assist awarded to Sturridge because the other "assist" was a shot leading to handball. These PPI scores are calculated based on some stats (I don't know where they come from). Eventhough in the FPL game Sturridge has 2 assists, he may have only 1 assist in the data from which PPI scores are calculated.

Earlier in the season Suarez had 2 assists against WBA and didn't get any bonus points. One of his assists was also an earned penalty.

Seems really silly if that is the case. IMO it's just the shots off target. Suarez also had a few off target in that particular game, and as always it was the goalscorers who ended up with the bonus points.

I agree, the shots off target are a major influence. It would still be nice to know if earned penalty counts as an assist in the data they use for PPI scores.

The system has loads of scandalous outcomes. I genuinely think Sturridge deserved something, but I thought he wouldn't. Suarez in the game mentioned was on my mind, clearly the best player on the pitch robbed because of his shots off target.

    Ruddy
    Simpson/Enrique/Agger/Jones
    Bale/VDV/Silva
    RVP/Ade/Ba

    Subs - Vorm/Sess/Dyer/Wilkinson

    0.3 in the bank.

Got Ba in already this week, so anything else would be for a hit - which I'm quite happy to do. Any other thoughts as to what I should do?

    Cheers.

Team looks solid, and there aren't any obvious transfers as far as I can tell.

Wouldn't be too confident about doubling up on the Liverpool defence for an away game though.

I thought that, but then I've paid the money for the pair of them because I think they'll return some decent points over the few few weeks, plus Gabby is out for the game as well which improves their chances as well.

Plus I'm never gonna get out of this blasted 200k if I don't make some moves - the casuals are destroying me this season....

    Begovic to Krul
Sess to Cabaye/similar priced midfielder for a 4 point hit worth it?
I could just play Vorm for the next two weeks instead or play Sess/Pilkington and buy Krul? Any advice on this sunny Tuesday afternoon?

Nope...don't bother taking the hit for that, seems pointless to me.

I'd wait to see how the new Toon defence settles before moving to Krul.

Mind you, Begovic can't be trusted and it would be nice to have the Vorm rotation for those away matches, and those at home where a spanking looks a possibility
