Luis Suarez is given more time to answer his improper misconduct charge. Fergie talks festive rotation, while the injuries pile up for Steve Kean ahead of the weekend game against West Brom.

Sir Alex Ferguson has given Fantasy managers early warning of his Christmas plans, with rotation very much on his mind. The United boss admitted he plans to utilise his squad ahead of a busy run of games over the next few weeks. With the champions facing a favourable run of fixtures, careful, risk-free planning looks essential for those considering their Fantasy assets over the festive period, in order to avoid disappointment:

December is a particularly busy month when we often play eight or nine games. We’ve got a Boxing Day Game, a New Year’s Eve game..it’s going to be a hectic spell and that’s when the squad really kicks in.

The FA has afforded Luis Suarez extra time to answer the improper conduct charge leveled against the Uruguayan following an alleged gesture towards Fulham supporters in the 5/12 Craven Cottage fixture. Suarez had initially been given until 4pm yesterday to respond but the deadline has since been extended. Liverpool have also been granted more time to answer a charge of failing to keep their players in an orderly fashion following the sending off of Jay Spearing in the same fixture.

Anton Ferdinand is expected to be sidelined for a couple of weeks due to a hamstring problem. The centre-half was subbed off at Anfield on Saturday with the problem and Neil Warnock expects either Fitz Hall or Matthew Connolly to be given a chance in Ferdinand’s absence. Warnock also revealed Heidar Helguson was rested for the trip to Liverpool and will be available to lead the line against Man United. In further QPR injury news, Warnock admitted Paddy Kenny could be available for selection on Sunday, though with Radek Cerny is such strong form, Kenny faces a fight to return to the first XI.

Alan Pardew is optimistic that both Cheick Tiote and Fabricio Coloccini will be available for Newcastle’s home clash with Swansea this weekend. Good news for Pardew in the centre-half area- Mike Williamson will turn out for the reserves tonight as he picks up the pace in his recovery from an ankle injury, though is regarded as “a long shot†for Saturday’s game. Pardew had to play Danny Simpson and James Perch at centre-half in the 4-2 loss at Norwich due to limited options.

Andre Santos is out for three months after undergoing ankle ligament surgery. The Arsenal left-back picked up the problem in last week’s Champions League match in Olympiacos and his loss means Thomas Vermaelen is likely to fill i

Could be wrong but from watching past games, and all the other stuff we waste hundreds of hours doing for the time thief that is FPL, Silva could be in for a knocking off his throne these next 6, 8, 10 weeks.

Hmm, I wouldn't recommend an 8pt hit, because the only player likely to get you any points is Mata. You could possibly go with the cheaper option of Ramires? He plays a similar role to Yaya, runs from the deep into the opponents box.

Random thought about Walker.. When lennon was taken off he was playin very high up, just like a winger.. if tott continue with that for a while he's gonna be in my team for the double.. also read somewhere that Rodwell could be back at the weekend.. fill find it and post again.. makes him my perfect pilkington replacement

Droopy switched to a back three against Stoke which is why Walker was so high up. Droopy won't start like that, but it's a good thing, Walker is better when he has a player in front of him to overlap. I'm assuming Lennon will be fine for SUN, if not, Droopy may switch Moddy left and play Bale right.

So, Ba (SWA) Ade/Bale (SUN) or Mata (wig) ?

    Team for the week:
    Vorm
    Baines Jones Enrique Smalling
    Silva Nani Drenthe
    RVP Adebayor (c) Sturridge
    Subs: Cerny; Simpson, Rambo, Dyer

.1 in the bank, 0 FTs.
    Any changes to make?
Drenthe should probably go but if he's fit I think he'll start (been scouring the forums and they seem pretty high on him), there's nobody worth a 4 pointer to get in and Simpson isn't an awful fill in for this week.

I must say...I am shocked at the amount of people that are jumping the Silva ship! The guy has been involved in so many of City's goals this season.

He's scored/assisted in nearly every game this season. Only the last couple of GW's he's been a bit quiet. I for one will be looking to keep him for the rest of the season and will be reaping the rewards!

Yeah same here. Had him from the start and he is staying all season. People get carried away with a player having 1 good GW. Nani has been horrible for 2 months before last weekend and now he is a must have.

This season has been crazy for mass knee-jerks on players one way or the other. The problem is, it seems to have worked. The traditional policy of hanging on to players for weeks and weeks has gone out the window. The Silva or VDV to Nani switch could work out very well for people over Xmas.

    info re drenthe

    bilyaletdinov in an interview:

Q - "But you have begun to play more often at Everton recently. Maybe you should leave well enough alone?"

B - "If only things were as rosy as you say... It’s just that every club has some periods when a lot of its players are injured. Not that there is no one to play except me, but Anichebe is injured, and Distin, Phil Neville, Rodwell, Drenthe have been facing some health issues. Therefore, I don’t flatter myself."

It's not impossible, but he's got a full week to recover, and I don't see Torres or Drogs being asked to play that wide role, myself. That's one of Studge's additional selling points.

How will that affect Sturridge? Drogba would make way for Torres and Lampard can't play on the wing. They would need to change their whole formation for that to happen. The only slight threat is Anelka/Kalou.

Ba ... but I would say that.

I just think we aren't going to sit back with our defensive problems (even if Colo is back, we're under strength) and I think it'll be too much for Swansea defence who struggle away from home.

It's going to be a good atmosphere on Saturday with the G Speed tribute and I think that makes a big difference at St James'. 3-1 is what I'll be going for.

Good evening guys from over here in Australia. Just want a quick opinion on my team for this week before i head to bed.

    Hennessey (Vorm)
    Raylor, Jones, Enrique
    Mata, Silva, Bale, Sess
    RVP, Ade(c), Sturridge

    Richards, Dyer, Brown

Have 1 FT this week considering of going Brown to Jagielka and fielding 4 at the back at Sess' expense.
Tough not to captain RVP as well. Pretty sure I will be second guessing on that one for the rest of the week.

    Krul, (Westwood)
    Olsson, Vermaelen, JE, (Hibbert), (Rangel)
    Drenthe, Bale, Silva, Mata, (Gower)
    Sturridge, Ade, RVP

Not sure I can drop Verm for Hibbert, even though fixtures state I should.

If it's for the med-long term, double-up Swans for their home games, I do it with Vorm/Naylor and it's worked very well. If it's just for this week, I would have to steer you towards Kelly, given home game against Bolton.

They don't need a lot. Sub CB and an extra winger so Mata can play more centrally. Still not impressed with Drogba, he should give Torres 90 minutes vs Wigan with Romeu, Meireles and Ramires in midfield. Fernando will thrive!
