Arsenal have this afternoon confirmed they are closely monitoring the proposed industrial strike action due to take place on the London Underground this Boxing Day.

With the Gunners set to face Wolves at 3pm that day, the club have made supporters aware via their official website that, in the event of a strike, any decision as to whether the match goes ahead will be made with the public’s safety in mind. Both Arsenal and Wolves are already liaising with the relevant authorities ahead of any announcement.

Chelsea also have a home game that day, with Fulham due to travel to Stamford Bridge and although the club have yet to comment, reports over the weekend have suggested both these matches could conceivably be at risk if the strike goes ahead.

At the moment, this is just a heads-up. We must stress that nothing has been finalised either way but Fantasy managers should at least be aware over a possible postponement on the horizon.

With Man United and Liverpool hosting Wigan and Blackburn that Gameweek and with Spurs taking a trip to Norwich, there would be plenty other strong options available if the games are called off. Owners of Chelsea and Arsenal assets face a real quandary, though- with both clubs at home to Aston Villa and QPR respectively on New Year’s Eve, would getting rid for one gameweek be the sensible option?

Plenty to mull over, then, and, added to this is the possibility of a double gameweek for both London clubs if the matches are indeed cancelled, it’s fair to say we’ll be keeping a keen eye open for any update.

At the expense of RVP? Its hardly worth it, as a buyer at 11.9 it would cost me 0.7 to bring him back in.

Any advice please? Should i concentrate on getting rid of Schwarzer and Wododgate (Soirensen / Evans?) But really strugging to get a decent transfer this week or even 2 transfers that I actually want for the weeks after?!

    Vorm
    Schwarzer

    Jose Enrique
    Taylor R
    Baines
    Walker
    Woodgate

    Bale
    Brunt
    Silva
    Ramsey
    Walters

    Sturridge
    Van Persie
    Yakubu

also want to get shot of Ramey but he must be due something after holding on for so long?
Brunt paid off this week for me so will keep him for the mean time.

I've got both those players even though I'm benching them this week. I can't remember ever having done this before, but I'll have a decent enough XI without them - and I won't be able to afford Evans otherwise. Plus I can't work out any other moves I want to make.

I went to the game on Saturday. Until Drenthe came on Everton were woeful. When he did, he completely turned the team around, lightening fast, eye for goal, ran at defenders every time he had the ball - Moyes doesn't have much choice but to put him in. For 5.9, bargain.

What to do, guys, stick or twist? The team is :

    Krul (Vorm)

    Enrique, Vermaelen, Simpson (Wilkinson, Warnock)

    Silva, Mata, Mata, Drenthe (Dyer)

    Ba, RVP (C), Adebayor.

    (1) Should I try to bring in an Everton or Spurs player this week?
    (2) Should I give Ba another chance as captain, or is RVP’s safety blanket a better option?
    (3) Should I just offload the deadweights Warnock and Wilko?

    Thanks a million 😀

Dyer is out injured now, which leaves you with him and Wilko not playing on your bench. I'd look at bringing someone in for Dyer, and I'm going with RVP (C) no reason to suggest he can't put a big score in against Villa

I've been waiting for about 10 weeks for Santon to get his chance! I think he'll get a run in the team now.

Team this week.. Dyer confirmed out and big question mark on Bale.

    Krul [Vorm]
    Simpson - Jones - Enrique
    Nani - Mata - Silva - Bale?
    Ade - Ba - RvP
    Sub: Naylor, Brown, Dyer

If Bale not fit and, just in case, one of other player get rested, I will have just Naylor and Brown to play.

    A. Brown -> Evans ... probably not getting CS this week, but he will rise and I need him for short-term

Holding on to 2 transfers this week (if possible) seems like an even better idea given the uncertainity around these fixtures.

Ward to Evans - YES. Keep Walker dgw coming up and fixtures are not too shabby either.

Chelsea then 2 aways for Walker. Norwich usually score.

        Jones is playing MF.

Jones for me - looked great at the weekend. Sensing some assists coming his way

They earn enough don't they? If you can't stand the thought of working boxing day don't become a tube driver. Oh well, will just have to play Eagles instead of RVP.

It is not a strike about working on boxing day, they just think striking then will have a large impact, which it will.

It is a strike about working on Boxing Day, in one sense anyway. They're demanding triple time and a day off in lieu to do it I think!

    Team so far:

    Krul (Vorm)
    Jones, Evans, BAE (Brown/Shorey)
    Silva, Adam, Bale, Walters (NDyer)
    RVP, Rooney, Ba

Thinking of taking out NDyer for JonJo/other cheap midfielder
    Any suggestions?

Sonic - how do you know this?

As far as i can tell he should make the game on Thursday. Without Lennon he will be vital for width.

playing him unless I hear definitively that he's not playing from 'arry. Got Eagles on bench so no disaster if he doesn't.

He is too expensive to be injured and on the bench. I am swapping him with VDV

"Put back" = opposite of "bring forward" which would mean 25th.

Xmas Day would be bringing it forward 24 hours. It means the 27th.

They used to play footy on Christmas Day back in the 50s and before.
