Arsenal have this afternoon confirmed they are closely monitoring the proposed industrial strike action due to take place on the London Underground this Boxing Day.

With the Gunners set to face Wolves at 3pm that day, the club have made supporters aware via their official website that, in the event of a strike, any decision as to whether the match goes ahead will be made with the public’s safety in mind. Both Arsenal and Wolves are already liaising with the relevant authorities ahead of any announcement.

Chelsea also have a home game that day, with Fulham due to travel to Stamford Bridge and although the club have yet to comment, reports over the weekend have suggested both these matches could conceivably be at risk if the strike goes ahead.

At the moment, this is just a heads-up. We must stress that nothing has been finalised either way but Fantasy managers should at least be aware over a possible postponement on the horizon.

With Man United and Liverpool hosting Wigan and Blackburn that Gameweek and with Spurs taking a trip to Norwich, there would be plenty other strong options available if the games are called off. Owners of Chelsea and Arsenal assets face a real quandary, though- with both clubs at home to Aston Villa and QPR respectively on New Year’s Eve, would getting rid for one gameweek be the sensible option?

Plenty to mull over, then, and, added to this is the possibility of a double gameweek for both London clubs if the matches are indeed cancelled, it’s fair to say we’ll be keeping a keen eye open for any update.

Soooo, could you give me your view on this?

I already have Jones + Nani and plan is/was to do brown => evans for gw18.
Evans's price is rising tonight so maybe I don't save my tranny and do it now and bench him for this gw. He comes in if Bale don't play.

However then I have 3 mu players and my hands are tight, I can't get Rooney in for Rvp if that arsenal game gets cancelled more than few days.
What do you think, make transfer now or wait (and let price go up maybe another 0.1)?

I'm in the same position. Think I'm going to do it and take a hit to get Rooney if the Arsenal game is cancelled. But I have no room to move with prices (taking out Wilko). If you can afford to wait then it's prob worth missing out on the 0.1.

    ATTENTION ALL MANAGERS!

I know I posted this on the previous page and got plenty RVP support but I wanted to add something.

I need to confirm my Sky captain by 7:45 2moro night for the upcoming double GW. RVP sounds ideal for the next 2 games but with the doubt over the possible boxing day tube strikes do I risk captaining RVP or go with Roonpig?

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    PREVIOUS POST

Need some advice on this weeks double GW on the Sky Fantasy Football. Opens 2moro and closes Boxing Day.

I have narrowed my captain choices to the following

    Rooney @ Fulham & (H) to Wigan
    RVP @ Villa & (H) to Wolves
Silva (H) to Stoke & @ West Brom

Am I right to go with Rooney seeing as he is the least likely to be rested and the second fixture is the best of the 6 games.

I predict: Rooney will score 2 and assist one
      RVP will score 3
Silva will score 1 and assist 3.

Which ever one gets the most points out of that on Sky Sports FF then captain them.

I agree about RVP's scoring potential. What i'm asking is if I should take the risk of captaining him given that the London Underground strike on Boxing Day could mean the game is postponed...

Why not? Chances are that, even if the game is postponed, it'll be rescheduled 24 hrs later. And even if it's not, that's what the VC is for.

    Krul (Vorm)
Jones - Kompany - Simpson (Wilkinson - NTaylor)
Silva - Nani - Bale - Walters (Dyer)
    RVP - Ba - Sturridge

    1 FT, 1.2 in bank

Hi chaps - with Bale, Wilkinson and Dyer both potentially out this week, I feel I should use my transfer to make sure I've got someone healthy on my bench besides NTaylor.

    What transfer would you recommend?

    Thanks!

Are you on the wind up? He's averaged 7 per game since he arrived, he's had double figure scores twice in the last 5 weeks, scored the game before last, has one of the best midfields in the league behind him, might be on penalties and has norwich then swansea before west brom and Everton in one gameweek followed by they another home game the week after, and he's absolutely nailed on starter.

ok I’ve been given the impression that my post was too long, so here it in bullet point form

*Don’t want to do any transfers this week to give myself 2 next week

*Need to take Yak out after Bolton, but would only have 6.4 million to spend right now and don’t see many great options.

*Am considering doing Bale > a 5.3 or less mid to get Hernandez in for Yak (for no hit) or BAE > Caulker this week, then Bale > Gower and Yak > Rooney next week for 4 point hit (but lose 2 Spurs players before DGW)

*I'm doing Ba > Studge in GW19 so he's not in the picture

    *Am looking for alternatives.

Depending on both Bale's and Hernandez's injury news, the first option looks good, always the option to go for Ade for the DGW too.

Caulker has bad fixtures, not sure why Swansea defenders are being transferred in like crazy.

No point losing any Spurs players before the DGW, Bale shouldn't be out for more than the Chelsea match and you may not afford him back. But if you must lose a Spur then I'd only lose Bale, not BAE too.

MF for 5.4 or less + Hernandez doesn't seem a good option to me, I'd consider a cheaper striker and bulk that middle man up a bit.

That said, I'd not lose Bale or get Hernandez personally!

Thanks guys. My only quandary is Dyer and Bale. I've already got 2 free's but am exposed in midfield if Bale doesn't play. Was going to do Naylor > Caulker to free up funds but thinking Dyer > Toite is the better option.

Similar team, I'm getting Drenthe for Ramsey & Moses for Dyer with my 2 frees, not sure if that helps. Keeping Bale on ice, couldn't afford him back. No point losing him unless he's out for 3 weeks or more.

    This is my team:

    Vorm
    Enrique | Evans | Vermaelen
    Silva | Bale | Nani | Mata
    Ba | Adebayor | RVP

I kind of want to get Jones & Richards in for Enrique & Evans. But that would mean downgrading Mata to a 6.7 midfeilder.

    Are these good moves?

Personally, i wouldnt be getting rid of enrique, and evans will probably get similarish points to jones, but is about 2.0 cheaper. But theres no denying jones & richards are good prospects

Then you would also have noticed evans playing the "vidic"role at set pieces 🙂 he got on the end of a couple & was unlucky not to score. Keep that on the down low though, hopefully it pays off in next few games!

Just be aware of a big caveat... Sometimes you will get advice to change your plans on here, with what seems like well thought out justificaion... At the end of the day you need to make your own decision based on what you think yourself, e.g if jones gets a goal assist & cs against fulham you'll kick yourself for not getting him in, so go with what you think yourself!
