After last night’s double dose of Premier League action, Wednesday brings us no fewer than seven games to enjoy. The Dugout Discussion is open for business and is the perfect place to follow all the action as it unfolds…

The race for Christmas number one will be decided tonight, with league leaders Manchester City just needing a point at home to Stoke City to maintain their position at the top over the festive period. Any slip-up and city rivals Manchester United will be looking to pounce, as they visit the capital to face Fulham.

Setting their sights slightly lower are Champions League spot contenders Arsenal and Liverpool, who are both on the road tonight. The Gunners visit Villa Park and The Reds travel to the DW Stadium.

Elsewhere, the other team in Merseyside host Swansea at Goodison Park, Newcastle United welcome the visit of Roy Hodgson’s West Brom, and Sunderland make the long trip down to Loftus Road to play QPR.

    Is Nani essential now with Young injured? Or would Valencia do as United cover?

      Valencia is a good option, but I would expect extra Nani points for the extra cost. I have Nani and may bring in Valencia too.

        I agree Nani is far more of a goal threat than Valencia. My option is basically Rooney and Valencia or Nani and Adebayor...

    Well, the last two gameweeks have gone so-so with a week bench and many injuries of key players (R.Taylor, Bale). For gameweek 18 and 19, however, I’m more optimistic with my team. How does it look?

      No need to get rid of ba before gameweek 18 is finished. Walters and Valencia sounds great to me. Young injured (no) means Valencia will keep giving you those scores for 3.3 million to be used elsewhere. That said, I'd perhaps do Valencia / Drenthe if I was changing it now, depending on how strong my back line was in terms of clean sheet probability.

      Ashley Cole's assist threat has shot up this season compared to recent years, and we'll be sticking to the deep back four for the time being as AVB understands he needs new players to implement a different philosophy. Or Terry as he's in the goals. Ivanovic is a good shout too. Kompany and Richards as well as a Swansea defender and Verm are also good. Two or three from Man City, Arsenal, Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool are vital. Liverpool's CS ability is very good. Skrtel or Enrique would be the best bets, Johnson would be good for the off assist and goal if he wasn't as injury prone as he is.

    It's really not clear whether it was a Kompany assist or a Y. Toure one. They should give it to Y. Toure. Stoke should also be fined for fielding a pathetic team.

    Where are the bonus points for yesterday's matches? Should we expect bonus points tomorrow or only on the morning after the last game?
