Gameweek 17 concludes tonight at White Hart Lane, as third in the league Tottenham Hotspurs play host to fourth placed Chelsea. For the last time before Christmas and for the third night running, the Dugout Discussion is here. The team news for the game is in, and is as follows…

Spurs XI: Friedel, Walker, Gallas, King, Assou-Ekotto, Modric, Parker, Sandro, Bale, Van der Vaart, Adebayor.

Chelsea XI: Cech, Bosingwa, Ivanovic, Terry, Cole, Ramires, Mikel, Meireles, Sturridge, Drogba, Mata.

The home side have the fortune of being able to call upon the services of the injury-plagued Ledley King and Gareth Bale, who was rated as “very doubtful” by manager Harry Redknapp earlier this week. Emmanuel Adebayor also shakes off a slight foot injury to start upfront with Rafael Van der Vaart.

As the visitors, Andre Villas-Boas makes the bold (according to some media outlets) decision to name Frank Lampard and Fernando Torres amongst the Chelsea substitutes. Elsewhere, he’s boosted by the availability of the Brazilian Ramires, who returns to the side after missing the weekend’s game at Wigan.

      Probably not given how well forwards are doing at the moment. Worth a transfer or two to replace him. There was a good article a while back about it.

      I reckon value drops won't be worth it. Sell him and buy back for a profit. He'll likely be out for at least 4 gameweeks. Even if it's only 3, I wouldn't expect him to hit the ground running - same with all of them.
