While some of us have already begun tinkering with the winter wildcards, there are five games taking place today as double gameweek 20 gets underway.

The big news is that Daniel Sturridge is not in the Chelsea squad- those overnight reports of a leg injury appear to have been true, then.

Here’s the line-ups of this afternoon’s four fixtures before Arsenal make their way to the Cottage this evening:

Blackburn: Bunn, Lowe, Samba, Hanley, Henley, Nzonzi, Formica, Dunn, Petrovic, Pedersen, Yakubu
Stoke: Sorensen; Woodgate, Shawcross, Huth, Wilson; Shotton, Whelan, Whitehead, Etherington; Walters, Crouch

Wolves: Hennessey, Stearman, Berra, Johnson, Ward, Hammill, Henry, Frimpong, Forde, Edwards, Doyle.
Chelsea: Cech; Bosingwa, Luiz, Terry, Cole; Meireles, Romeu, Lampard; Ramires, Torres, Mata.

QPR: Kenny, Hill, Derry, Gabbidon, Taarabt, Faurlin, Mackie, Barton, Young, Helguson, Ferdinand
Norwich: Ruddy, Martin, Drury, Johnson, Whitbread, Holt, Jackson, Pilkington, Bennett, Lappin, Ayala.

Aston Villa: Guzan, Cuellar, Dunne, Collins, Warnock; Petrov, Clark, N’Zogbia, Ireland, Agbonlahor, Bent
Swansea: Vorm, Rangel, Caulker, Williams, Taylor; Britton, Dyer, Routledge, Agustien, Orlandi; Graham

Nani or Valencia in the wildcard team? Taking into account the extra money made available by Valencia..

I don't necessarily agree with both of those points, but you are missing the fact that the extra 2.0m could make for significant upgrade elsewhere.

using Valencia in short term perhaps is good but if Nani runs riot sometime, you will want to buy him back and losing money

When you move on to real Lego from Duplo, do you call it moving on to 'big Lego' cos your kid is bigger, or 'small Lego' cos the Lego itself is smaller? Really vexing me.

I've just had an epiphany, why do people complain about the bp's not going to the best players when this game itself doesn't reward them? for example, modric etc, are so much better than [insert random undeserving footballer here] but that doesn't equate to ff points does it? so why should it in the bp's?

To reward player's for good performance. Adding more points on to the goalscorer isn't a great baps system. The Baines penalty the other week springs to mind as an example of the system failing.

sure, the system is horrible, but why complain when the game itself isn't fair? what are you gaining by complaining? I'd rather channelize my energies into something more productive, and I appreciate the irony of the argument 😉 .

People complain about it because, while it wasn't perfect, the old system worked a lot better. There have been countless bonus points awarded this season that have been ridiculous and many occasions where bonus points should have been awarded but were not.

because stats alone can't be relied upon to give a fair picture on performance. The bps are there (or perhaps should be there) to reward performances that would not otherwise be highly rated by pure statistics alone....
