League leaders Manchester City travel to the DW Stadium tonight, looking to put breathing space between themselves and their city rivals. The Dugout Discussion chatroom opens in anticipation of the conclusion of Gameweek 21.

Both team sheets have been handed in, and here is how they line-up on this horribly cold Monday night…

Wigan XI: Al Habsi, Stam, Alcaraz, Caldwell, Figueroa, McArthur, McCarthy, Gomez, Crusat, Rodallega, Moses.

Man City XI: Hart, Zabaleta, Savic, Lescott, Clichy, Milner, Barry, Nasri, Silva, Aguero, Dzeko.

Roberto Martinez continues with Albert Crusat, who manages to shake off a slight back injury to start tonight. James McArthur begins for only the third time in the league this season, replacing Mohamed Diame who is unavailable thanks to the African Cup of Nations.

Manchester City are forced to partner Jolean Lescott and Stefan Savic at centre-back once more, despite a very ropey performance in their defeat to United last weekend. Elsewhere, David Silva is restored to the starting line-up, Sergio Aguero partners Edin Dzeko up front, and Pablo Zabaleta replaces Micah Richards.

Follow all the action in our Dugout Discussion chatroom, which can be accessed right here.

Trying to think a bit outside the box for my WCT. Would appreciate all your thoughts....

    Vorm, Krul
    Caulker, Kelly, JEvans, Raylor, Cahill
    Valencia, Sess, Dyer, Silva, Cabaye
    Aguero, Rooney, RVP

    Madness?

Mate, I don´t understand anything and currently sitting on 400k because I like to take punts - but I think people will say it´s a good move...

I dont think that's a bad team at all. Little bit light at the back and although I have Vorm and Krul I wouldnt have both a Swansea and Newcastle defender as well, I'm just going for a Newc one, but yours may pay off. No Bale in midfield, but all in all offset by your front 3.

      I like it a lot. 🙂

Two things I was repeating to everyone:

      • Don't sell Silva, he'll miss one game maximum and news reports suggest he'll be fine anyway.
      • Don't buy Gerrard because he's too expensive for a player who doesn't deliver enough points and is severely injury prone.

You can predict defenders returns more easily since their returns depend heavily on the team's performance and fixture, especially if you have something like this:

            Player A: Wolves (away)
            Player B: Wigan (home)

An attacking player on the other hand could easily score in either fixture. Good luck choosing a player to bench!

Helguson could be at risk with Hughes likely to buy a new forward! Nani > Valencia, Helguson > Sturridge/Fletcher?

Hope so. I bought him on this assumption. 5.2M is a good price for a starting Chelsea defender with an eye for a goal.

I will keep Nani for the big matches. I remember (or like to think) he does well in these kind of matches...

I can't stand him anymore, has done nothing and is going to cost me. That my thought anyway.

    Ok, quick team question.

I have Kaboul and HBA that I want to get rid of.

One option is Kaboul for Skrtel and HBA for McLean for -4

Another option is just get rid of Kaboul or just get rid of HBA for not hit. But then I cannot bring in a Liverpool defender. Kaboul will have bolton at home the following week. HBA is quite hopeless and is always complaining.

So I guess HBA for McLean is a good idea, isnt´t it? Or should I go for DYEEEER? mmmm
