Our latest Monitor article for Members examines the progress of Antonio Valencia, a player who, over recent weeks, has emerged from the shadow of team-mate Nani to become a hugely popular Fantasy midfield option. With Wildcards in play and Nani struggling for returns, Valencia has been an established transfer target of late, attracting investment that triggered his first Fantasy Premier League (FPL) price rise this week.

We examine his progress over his recent spell of form, compare his raw statistics with those produced by Nani and place Valencia’s great strength – his ability to create chances – alongside the top performers over the last eight Gameweeks.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    WC defense..
    Krul Lindegaard
    Richards Kompany Evans Santon Caulker
Plan is to rotate keepers every week, play both city defenders.. the last spot will go to Santon if NEW at home or Caulker if Swans and MANU ar home as i'll have lindy in goal.. incase richards gets dropped i'll have more than capable back up on the bench.. makes my defense look leak proof.. sound?

Hi all, bit of forward planning here, thinking of taking out Rooney, Fletch, Walters, Enrique and putting in, Dzeko, Ba, Silva, Taiwo/a 4.6m Defender, to leave me with:

    Soren, Linde,
Huth, BAE, Richards, Kelly, Taiwo/4.6m def
    Silva, Valencia, Demps, Sess, Bale
    Dzeko, Ba, RVP

Thinking of doing Rooney to Ba this week (assuming he does not play) and then the other three for an 8 point hit next week.

    Mad or genius?! Any thoughts?

Yup. He's not going to play in the hole (his preferred position), and Obertan/Raylor on the right wing provide a lot more defensive cover.

He's definitely one of their more talented players, but Barfa himself said that he doesn't fit into Pardew's system, and Pardew's preferred style of play. Limited minutes till he end of the season, and then sold over summer.

I do like it Keith, but I worry about:

      a) Having two City slots take up in Defence
      b) Have two Utd slots taken up with GK + Def

If Man City or Man Utd have a DGW and / or if Aguero or Rooney, you could be wishing you a slot free for one or both of those two.

Just looking at those two options, the top one looks a lot better to me for this GW... it's a tricky one mate 😀 My WC for this week is:

        Mig / Krul
Richards / Evans / Santon / Caulker / Taiwo (or other cheapie)
        Silva / Dempsey / Valencia / Bale / McLean
        Ade / Ba / RVP

Enough to do Ade > Aguero next week. I do appreciate the doubling-up defender theory, and it has worked for some, but to me it's always only 1 goal away from losing 8pts. Aguero has 90mins to score, defenders have 1 split second to concede. Just how I play the game I guess :/

Should I sacrifice Sess or Valencia for McClean?

Neither ... but it depends what you are trying to do I suppose.

Need to raise some funds to get Kompany at the Back and Dzeko up front. If i lose one of Bale, Silva, Dempsey, Valencia or Sess I can strenghthen my forwards and defence. If i dont lose a midfield my forwards are Welbeck (to BA next week) Morrison and RVP

I have both at the mo. Once S'land's fixtures look less sexy (i.e. after Norwich this week) I may well ship out Sess. Releases a valuable £2.5m, and against Boro, I thought McClean looked more threatening anyway

Ya I might do that as well, Then revert back to a 3 4 3. Instead right now running a 3 5 2 and potentially wasting a forward. Im wondering should I go Lindegaard or Mignolet? Mignolet more short term.

Best route into the Chelsea defence now that Terry's injured?

Is Terry def injured? Surely Cahill *who I got 2 weeks ago* will be starting?

Is anything actually the matter with bale - see he is at 75% chance of playing. Is my cpt at the mo.

According to the article on the site's front page Terry's definitely out, so I'd think Cahill has to start at least against Swansea, and depending on how he does after that he might keep his start.

I have Bale too, have a feeling he'll be fine, Redknapp's probably taking precautions. Captained RVP though.

Thanks. Obviously I have RVP as well but I can see him being rested or at least subbed early with another game coming on Saturday. I hate captain choices. Leaving Raylor as my first on the bench which always ends in tears
