Our latest Monitor article for Members examines the progress of Antonio Valencia, a player who, over recent weeks, has emerged from the shadow of team-mate Nani to become a hugely popular Fantasy midfield option. With Wildcards in play and Nani struggling for returns, Valencia has been an established transfer target of late, attracting investment that triggered his first Fantasy Premier League (FPL) price rise this week.

We examine his progress over his recent spell of form, compare his raw statistics with those produced by Nani and place Valencia’s great strength – his ability to create chances – alongside the top performers over the last eight Gameweeks.

    With the Cabaye ban, Tiote in ACON and the defensive problems Newcastle are facing I all of a sudden don't feel that comfortable having one of their defenders.

    I know I'm obviously a bit biased, but I cant see how they have enough evidence to charge him. From the match it looked like a tangle and it was pretty unclear to me. As I said before the only person who can possibly state that there was any intent was Cabaye, it seems to me as if the FA have guessed intent and have taken into account some ugly challenges by Cabaye earlier in the season.

          Watching it in super slo-mo does show a thrust of the legs, but he wasnt even looking at the defender so I dont think he meant to catch him, certainly not in the face anyway, think he's just trying a rugby-league esque wriggle to get from under a fat bald fella* - as I say, tough to prove intent to cause harm.
