With yesterday’s results overshadowed by the now infamous non-handshake at Old Trafford, the Dugout Discussion opens today for what will hopefully be a controversy-free day of football. Having been displaced at the summit of the Premier League, Manchester City travel to Aston Villa where a draw will see them climb back to the top. Before that we have a Black Country derby to enjoy, as Wolves aim to drag their rivals West Brom in to the relegation scrap, and the Baggies try to increase their breathing space from it. The team news is in…

Wolves XI: Hennessey, Foley, Johnson, Bassong, Ward, Doyle, Edwards, O’Hara, Jarvis, Ebanks-Blake, Fletcher.

West Brom XI: Foster, Reid, McAuley, Olsson, Ridgewell, Odemwingie, Morrison, Scharner, Mulumbu, Thomas, Fortune.

Mick McCarthy names an attacking side which features a trio of strikers in Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Kevin Doyle and Steven Fletcher. For the visitor’s, Liam Ridgewell makes his debut for West Brom at the expense of Nicky Shorey, and Paul Scharner starts ahead of Graeme Dorrans.

You can follow all the action as it happens in our Dugout Discussion chatroom, which can be accessed right here.

Keep these goals coming Albion, goal difference is going to be vital down the bottom.

This is worth an extra point to us and Blackburn.

Makes a refreshing change to see a player celebrate scoring against his old club, i hate that ridiculous modern trend of not celebrating.

Correct, we have a 4 goal difference over Wolves and 2 over Blackburn. Considering that it may come down to GD in the end this is like an extra point to our total.

Dzeko and Richards in my lineup but on the bench mind, but staying in 16th is far more important to me now.

    Repost

    Good day gents!

I would like your opinion on this.

Setting the price value of a player aside who will get more points for Sunderland by the end of the season starting from GW 26 – McClean or Sessegnon?

Tough, but I have to go with Sess, he's looked very dangerous. That said I think it will be close and I own McClean, he is always getting involved down the wings in most of Sunderland's play.

The only real way to choose is ask yourself what you could do to your team with an extra 1.5 mil, if the answer is not much get Sess, if it makes a big enough difference (Aguero over Dzeko) pick McClean

          My team:

          Krul Vorm

          Kompany Simpson Caulker Evans Huth

          Sess Siggy Bale Dempsey Silva

          RVP Ba Aguero

          Bank 3.3 mil.

I am really dissapointed with my defenders (apart from Kompany and Evans) and Krul.

Therefore, I would like to invest and revamp my defence - Caulker, Simpson and Huth getting the boot and also bring Mignolet for Krul.

          Is my thinking correct?

Mignolet for Krul would be a mighty knee jerk

On the contrary, I doubt anyone needs two Swansea defenders anymore.

            Rooney?

Mignolet has been much better and Newcastle are bad, although Tiote and Cabaye are coming back - should not rush the transfer and just see how they will play now with them back.

Yes, Rooney will come in for Aguero possibly from GW 28 or 29 as Man City have an easy fixture in GW 28 as well.

Which defenders are good punts in your opinion for CS, goals, assists, BPs in the coming weeks? Cheers for having this discussion by the way šŸ˜‰

He is flagged, and drops are bit more imprecise than rises, so in theory it's -100 that's needed to fall, but that changes with flagged players by unknown amounts.
