Rafael Van der Vaart looks set to return to the Spurs starting lineup, after Harry Redknapp confirmed that he has trained all week ahead of the derby showdown with Arsenal.

Emmanuel Adebayor and Benoît Assou-Ekotto should also shake off respective problems, whilst Luka Modric looks likely to recover from the flu. Their counterparts could well have a reinforced backline with Laurent Koscielny and Kieran Gibbs potentially recovering; a decision will be made on the pair tomorrow.

Ryan Taylor has recovered from an ankle injury for Newcastle as they take on Wolves – whose leading scorer Steven Fletcher is a doubt with a virus. Elsewhere, Junior Hoilett is fit for Blackburn, whilst reports suggest that Tom Cleverely may have suffered an ankle injury during Manchester United’s game with Ajax.

Is it worth getting Huth out for a hit (probably to Santon), or keep him this week and play BAE (I will then only have three defenders playing with two non-playing defenders on the bench)? I would probably play Huth next weekend then move him out the weekend after, that is why I am thinking of sticking, but I can't decide. Any help appreciate, thanks

My biggest problem with VDV is his record of never finishing games.

[cue someone showing stats from October where he plays 90 ... ]

For that money, I like a player who's likely to play all 90.

He is usually splendid against Arsenal, and if he plays he will most likely score too. But then again, it's too risky as we are unsure about the game time he will get. Btw if he does well in both the games, I'm pretty sure you would not want to transfer him out of your team.
I am contemplating Dempsey->VDV after gw29 assuming he looks like a regular again.

Maybe I should give myself a chance and not pick the two hardest fixtures in the calendar. I could leave VDV for later for Dempsey like you. Bring Mata in now? It'll only be for 2 weeks as a punt.

If you reckon Chelsea will bang in a few goals, Mata could turn out to a splendid 2 week punt. I personally don't have faith in Chelsea and am contemplating removing Cahill at the very moment. But if I were you, I had take the chance.

Ok folks if I brought in Dave for the Gerbil my front 8 would be

    Bale, Siggy, Dempsey, Silva, McLean

    RvP, Aguero, Dave

    Who would you bench.

Also looking for someone at 6.4 or less to swap in for Siggy, but they must rotate well with McLean. Thoughts on Cabaye, Myachi, Moses, Pilko or Surman?

Ba is out as I would have no spare cash to get Skrtel in for Taiwo or to upgrade Siggy. Other option is do nothing this week and get Yak next week.

    What do people think?

I think he will start but I'm not as certain with Silva or Aguero, especially after Pizarro's great debut against Porto.

I hope Mancini doesn't take Blackburn too lightly.

You reckon Silva and Aguero are less likely to start this match than Richards? Ouch. I always saw Pizarro as cover, quite possibly with Europa in mind.

I doubt Mancini will take them lightly, remember he apologized after a recent match... Everton I think it was... for exactly that.

Going to guess Balotelli starts, and maybe K. Toure too. With De Jong, Nasri and Lescott making way. Different full backs too. The core of Kompany, Yaya Toure, Hart, Aguero & Silva should hopefully all start.

That sounds reasonable. Those five sound pretty nailed on to me.

Remains to be seen if he changes the fullbacks for me, I think City struggled to break down Villa with their fullbacks including Zab playing - Blackburn will surely come out on the defensive and Mancini should be tempted to play rampaging Richards at home

Don't think Blackburn are much of a defensive side this season. Been a common theme, them giving it a go against the big teams. Hence them conceding in every game

Yeah they do have a horrible CS record.

Very conflicted on who's most likely to start out of Zab and Richards. Maybe Zab might be preferred to deal with the Blackburn attacking threat. But Richards has started most matches at home and in all honesty hasn't really missed that many matches.

IMO Santon is nailed on at LB leaving Raylor no defensive spot. Raylor can thus only play in midfield and Tiote and Cabaye are back. I really can't think of him as a regular starter in that context.

Just spotted this. 4/1 on Aguero to score any time tomorrow! Only got until 5pm though to put it on though.

You absolute legend. Just bet the max (a tenner). Win £50 if it happens.

Shame its only a max of a tenner but can't complain. Great bet!

Yep you placed yours? I was going to say it's almost like free money but obviously that's tempting fate... it just seems so hard to contemplate him not scoring.

Any sites/places to look where they have notice of these specials? It's often hard to find value.

I can only see the odds as 1/2 ?!?!?!

It's Paddy Power right - what am i doing wrong?

Ignore that - i went through to Paddy seperately from the link (which i didn't see at first).

              I've stuck a tenner on - nice!
