Alas, I cannot be there myself as I needed to esconce myself in my warm drawing room with its cosy fire and a glass of vodka to prepare this announcement. However, I digress.”
“Last week’s regrettable result against the team of Lille has been brought to the attention of the Kremlin, so we need to work extra hard to get a favourable result against this week’s opponents, Internationazionale”. CatMac continued with no expression on her face.
“My goalkeepers Krul and Vorm will be having additional training this afternoon with their coach in practising to save the penalties. I will see the result of this before I decide who to put between the posts. We also have a couple of doubts surrounding the availability of Kelly and Bale, I cannot say yet if they will start, they will need to have a medical assessment in the morning. However, I have very able replacements available.
“Can you name the rest of the team, will you bring in any new players?” asked one eager journalist from the Red Square Evening News, “and who will be captain?” asked a reporter from Moscow State TV.
“Alas no” CatMac replied, “I am not being purposely evasive here but my opponent’s manager, JMS, is very elusive and has his spies everywhere, so I cannot divulge such things at this time. We are up against the group favourites who have similar quality players, so I need to make strategic plans to win this battle.”
“However, all will be revealed tomorrow at 11:30am”
With that CatMac left the room leaving a perplexed audience behind. They had learnt nothing; indeed what was the point of such a press conference.

So I've noticed - just make sure you make a transfer this week, don't want you going into next week's match with 2 free transfers!
Undecided yet. It's going to be a difficult match this week as our teams are very similar, so it's a choice between using my transfer or hoping the home advantage pays off.
But next week will be even more difficult, so I need to weigh up the pros and cons. 😉
