Carlos Tevez continues to build up his fitness amid reports he is set to feature against Chelsea. Anderson may be out for the season after reportedly sustaining a hamstring injury in training. Alex McLeish hails the recent displays of Stephen Ireland, Glen Johnson is a concern for Kenny Dalglish ahead of tonight’s Merseyside derby, while David Moyes is wary of pushing some of his comeback stars too quickly:

Carlos Tevez has stepped up his conditioning training ahead of Man City’s game with Chelsea next Wednesday. The Argentine has featured for the reserves twice recently but has been withdrawn from the second string’s squad this week and, with the City frontline struggling to find the net, Roberto Mancini is keen to build up his former captain’s fitness in time for the crucial showdown. If United win at Wolves this weekend, City will enter the Chelsea game four points behind their title rivals; Tevez could well feature as Mancini looks to keep in touch with his neighbours as the pressure at the top ramps up. In other news, the City boss is sweating on the fitness of Joleon Lescott- the centre-half missed Sunday’s defeat at Swansea with a groin injury, with results of a scan expected at some point today.

Andre Santos is expected to turn out for Arsenal reserves on Wednesday evening as he nears a first-team comeback. The Brazilian – who has been missing since Gameweek 14 with an ankle injury – was an unused sub in last night’s win over Newcastle but “needs 90 minutes” to build up his fitness, according to Arsene Wenger, with an appearance against the Baggies second string now pencilled in. The Gunners boss also revealed Abou Diaby could return against Everton next week- the midfielder lasted just 27 minutes of his latest comeback before limping off at Liverpool.

Fulham’s Zdenek Grygera has confirmed he will not feature again this season, with his recovery from knee surgery taking longer than anticipated. The right-back suffered anterior ligament damage in the Gameweek 11 match with Spurs and his absence has afforded Stephen Kelly a chance to establish himself in Martin Jol’s back-four. The Cottagers have picked up defensively of late, with just a single goal conceded in their last three and, priced at 4.0, Kelly’s place as a cut-price Fantasy option continues to look secure over the remainder of the campaign.

Alex McLeish has heaped praise on the recent displays of Stephen Ireland, suggesting the midfielder will be an integral part of the Villa first XI over the remainder of the season. Ireland has now played 90 minutes in back-to-back matches over the last two gameweeks – the first time this term he has done so. Playing in the hole and priced at just 5.3, Ireland has the potential to be a bargain, though with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool in the next four, Villa’s fixtures are hardly appetising. Mcleish went on to say:

Ireland has been a revelation in the last few weeks. From what I’ve seen the last couple of weeks, I’m thinking Stevie is starting to look like the player he was at Man City. There is a player in there alright. You see the slide tackles, dispossessing people. I thought he was really good on one to ones when he didn’t have the ball in terms of dispossession. He is at a very good moment – and long may that continue.

Reports suggest Anderson may be set to miss the remainder of the season after badly damaging a hamstring in training last week. Though United have yet to comment, the Mail reckon the club are awaiting results of a scan on the problem, with a lengthy lay-off more than likely. The Brazilian started eight of the first nine matches for the champions but, in an injury-hit season, has featured just twice from the bench since then and, with Paul Scholes coming out of retirement, it’s arguable as to whether Anderson’s midfield contribution has been missed by Sir Alex Ferguson’s side in their climb back to the summit.

Darron Gibson is the only definite absentee for Everton ahead of this evening’s Merseyside derby, David Moyes confirmed yesterday. The Toffees boss did admit, however, that, with an FA Cup clash against Sunderland to follow this weekend before squaring up to Arsenal next midweek, he is wary of pushing some of his fit-again players too soon over the next couple of games, with several of his squad only just returning from injury:

Some players I don’t think are as match fit as I’d like and that is a little bit of a concern for me. On Saturday I was a bit concerned about Seamus Coleman and whether he was going to be match fit. Even Nikica Jelavic, he hadn’t been injured like some of the others but he’d missed a couple of weeks and we’ve had quite a few players like that. I thought it showed near the end of the [Tottenham] game. We didn’t quite have the energy I would’ve liked.

Kenny Dalglish’s only concern centres around Glen Johnson. The right-back has missed the last couple of matches after picking up a hamstring problem in England training and is once again a doubt for this evening’s match, with his manager revealing:

He’s got a niggle, so we’ll have to wait and see. Sometimes they take longer to clear up than others – you keep thinking you’re going to get there, but it doesn’t quite happen. We’ll have to wait and see where he is.

Anyone else with an I Phone on here?

The official fpl site sometimes displayed the player on safari and sometimes it doesn't. Anyone know why this is and if there is a fix? I'm not sure if it's my browser or the site itself?

Get the app FFM, much better than using Safari. Even recently added push notifications for when your player scores/assists etc.

Think he will start ok, but may struggle against Colocinni so could be hauled ashore at some stage again.

Another, and a bigger worry is Nani. If Valencia plays any gametime on Thursday night Nani could be benched even if recovers from his own injury. One to keep an eye on.

im 70pts behind in my minileague but just got into 2nd place for the first time in a while, thatd see me make around £400 profit for the season so staying top 2 in my ML is the target altho would obviously love to win it but unlikely now

Should I take a 4 point hit to get Rooney in for Suarez/Ba this week?

To do it I'll have to downgrade one of my mids, Silva, Bale, Dempsey, Valencia.

I'm only 0.5 short of the straight swap, so could get anyone in for Silva, but looking to go cheap I think.
I couldn't decide before Rooney's price rise last night 😛

Is it worth it, I think it is?

    Hi Guys.

Pretty poor game week for me this week, so far. Although it is a fairly low scoring week on the whole I believe. Still got Suarez ans Skrtel to play so definitely supporting Liverpool tonight. I've got a stage where I don't feel too happy with several members of my squad and not sure who should be priority to leave. Can you put these guys in order of who should be leaving. a) priority. f) least urgent.

Can I get away without Utd cover for the Wolves game?

I'm thinking that it's going to be relatively hard to predict the team anyway (ie Rooney, Young, Nani play on Thurs, they may not start against Wolves).

Thinking if I save my transfer can wait on making my decision on who to ship as have a few options, with mainly one of Young, Nani and Rooney intended to come in.

Mata, Silva, Ba, I'm not sure of long term (Dempsey will go after the Norwich game, with potentially Mata/Silva to come back).

    Team for next week.

    Krul
    Richards, G Johnson, J Evans

Totally wrong to suggest Rooney will be rested in a must win PL game. The Europa is secondary every time. Fergie won't lose any sleep if Bilbao go through. But in a title race that looks like it's going to the wire against your bitter rivals is far too important.

He's done it before though in previous seasons.

You'd know by Thursday anyway, just think if Rooney starts against Bilbao on Thurs, he could be rested on Sunday. Rooney is one of the few that generally does avoid rotation, but has been rested in the run in, in recent years.

With Berbatov, Hernandez, Wellbeck fit, there's plenty of options.

Ah yeah, sorry, meant without Utd attacking cover.

Lindegaard just wastes a Utd spot now. Assuming we go out against Bilbao think that's the slim hope of him getting league games gone.

    Hi all,

I have had a very good week and thought I would share it with you guys.

I have just been on Holiday so thats a good start,

Also this past week my FPL team has taken me into the dizzy hight's of the top 4k.
Which I would like to thank eveyone for all their help.
And.....United are back on top of the League!

In my other distraction (UCL) I have managed to cut a 30 point gap to just 9 points with a bunch of players still to play.

All in all I am one very happy fella!

Have any of you had it where on the Transfer page, the drop down boxes are all blank?

View, By and Max have nothing in the drop down boxes.

Pretty sure it's down to one of the add-ons I've installed into Firefox, but removing them hasn't fixed the problem - ooops!

The players on the list have also been removed.

Inside top 7k, a good showing from Skrtel tonight will do me wonders in my MLs.

Anyway onto CL matters. Does anyone know if Valbuena is fit tonight, do know whether to sub in him or Badstuber for Nocerino., will likely leave Cisshoko's 4 in. My other defenders are Maci Perreira and Ramos.

I'm not a member yet but I'm considering it. But only because I enjoy reading the articles and also think it would be good to contribute. I'm not particularly bothered about getting any extra 'help' for my FPL team.

    Folks,

how many points are needed to break a magic border 100k (rank)? Is anyone ranked in that area? Approximately?

I have 1486 and am 120k, so would like to know if there is a chance to achieve it (have 8pts from bench).

          It's crazy close 30K up.

I realized it. Since I broke 200k, I am moving very slow. One hit can make a difference.

I wish you to reach 20k very soon (this GW?), and after GW37 we can both meet in top 1k. Deal?
