A pivotal Premier League game kicks off Gameweek 30, with Champions League qualification on the line. The Dugout Discussion opens as 5th placed Chelsea host 4th placed Tottenham. A rare win for the visitors today (no win at Stamford Bridge since 1990) would not only stop the rot, but also go a long way to sealing their berth in Europe’s elite competition. The team sheets from Stamford Bridge are in, and are as follows…

Chelsea XI: Cech, Bosingwa, Cahill, Terry, Cole, Essien, Lampard, Ramires, Mata, Sturridge, Drogba.

Spurs XI: Friedel, Walker, Kaboul, Gallas, Assou-Ekotto, Modric, Parker, Sandro, Bale, Van der Vaart, Adebayor.

A host of changes for Chelsea sees Branislav Ivanovic, David Luiz, Raul Meireles and Fernando Torres all dropped to the bench. In come Jose Bosingwa, captain John Terry, Daniel Sturridge and Didier Drogba.

Harry Redknapp is boosted by the return of Emmanuel Adebayor, who starts with Rafael Van der Vaart at the expense of Louis Saha. Elsewhere, William Gallas and Sandro replace Ledley King (not in squad) and Niko Kranjcar.

Following that we’ve got another seven games to pour over, finishing at the Britannia Stadium where Manchester City will be looking to go back to the summit of the league, if only for one night.

      Should be naffed off with the whole lot of them.

      Poor and unacceptable defending, stupid and unnecessary bookings and another abject defeat. Paying them a lot of good money to perform like a pub team for 90 mins every weekend.

    Stoke could of won that today, best they have played for a while as far as i'm concerned. I think the Europa League may of been a major distraction during the early part of the season, if it hadn't they'd be higher than Liverpool IMO.

      Much harder. You need a win during the debry, and you need to keep the goal difference up. All with a harder schedule than United. This is assuming there aren't more points dropped, of course.

      Yes, if City win all their games. they'll win the league.

      Again, what will halt them isn't the home games like vs. Chelsea, it's the away games like Sunderland, WBA and now Stoke. Norwich, Arsenal and Newcastle away games will be the real test.

    Oof, disastrous gameweek so far. 16 points with Rooney, Valencia, Evans and Ba to play. RVP captain didn't work out too well, did it.

    On a positive note, The Gunners were brilliant today, so quite pleased despite the low FPL score.

    Looking at the 16-point gap between Arsenal and Liverpool, it's hard to believe that 7 gameweeks ago Liverpool was 1 point ahead of Arsenal. Now there is just 12 points between City and Arsenal and 8 gameweeks left. Possible?
