              I was a Baines 'hater' over the start of the season when he had those horrible fixtures, but I've always liked owning him in my foxsports game in previous years, my first time owning him in FPL as it's my first year, 9 PPG 😛

      He had blocks and a shot on target - we predicted Kaboul bonus ao it looks fair enough but I agree that Bale should also have had a sniff. Turns out he was a few PPI points behind.

    I'd point out that Bale was clearly the best player on the pitch yesterday and, sure enough, has not even one bonus point, but what's the point of complaining that this bonus point system doesn't even reflect the obvious?

      I agree but it is arguable that the less impressive less flashy hard work means more to a team then the selfish take on 5 people runs that end in nothing.

    3 things:

    1) who do you think will win?

    me: valencia + evans
    him: 17 pts

    2) like everyone else I have to agree that it def shoulddda been a ba assist. adn its also frustrating/annoying that they took it away from hba then gave it back

    3) yes the bp system is screwed up. i especially think that shots hitting the bar or post counted as off target is the dumbest part. if it hits the post that means its a good shot! players shouldn't be penalized for that! and what if someone shoots from like 25-30 yards out and nearly beats the keepr but its like a foot wide. that shouldnt be counted negatively for a great effort! obviously if you miss from 3 yards out that should count negatively but most of the time you should be rewarded for even getting a shot off!

    I also have to add on a partially related side note that I think they should impliment this part of the MLS fantasy scoring system. think it makes things more fair (especially defensively) and rewards other types of players that don't score to well with the current system. just another thought

    Attacking Bonus

    Players will score extra points for positive play:

    1 point for every 3 crosses (A cross is defined where the ball is played to their own player in the penalty area)
    1 point for every 3 key passes (A key pass is one that leads to a shot at goal)
    1 point for every big chance created (A big chance is one where the analyst determines the player should score)
    -1 point for every big chance missed

    Defending Bonus

    Players will also score extra points for good defending:

    1 point for every 6 clearances, blocks or interceptions
    1 point for every 6 recovered balls
    -1 point for every error leading to a goal

      I think there's a bit too much judgement in your set of rules, but I agree it needs to change.

      I wouldn't like to see points for crosses - Jesper Gronkjaer would have been a BP feind in yesteryear if that was the case but it doesn't mean he played well or any of his crosses were successful.

      Bring back the old system I say.

        ok doesn'thave to be exactly like that but some combination of say that and the recovered balls feature in ucl. think that defenders and mids, especially DM's need to be rewarded more for their hard work.

        also the minus points for mistakes leading to a goal or messing up a good chance seem interesting. don't you think a player should be penalized if they have a 1 on 1 with the keeper and blast it over the bar for example?

        and those weren't for bp's those were general in game points just like in ucl you get 1pt for every 5 tackles/clearances you make

        its my first year here so i dont know what the old system is.... but i feel the current system could work if they fix it so it counts stats more evenly and doesn't count shots off target as negative. that or do a combination of stat and opinion for the bps

        dang! well i guess i'll have to wait and see and hope for the best

        just the mls game and their description word for word. doesn't have to be exactly the same but think poitns should be awarded for other things. maybe balls recovered like in ucl too. and i like mistake for a goal is -1 and messing up a clear chance -1....

    this flawed bp sustme can be judged by the fact that a 35 yard screamer just missing the target by an inch is going to get less points than hitting a penalty straight into the keeper's hands

      false! hitting a pk into the keepers hands will result in minus points for a penalty missed....

      but i understand your point completely. hitting a 1 on 1 right to the keeper is better than taking a crack from long range and barely missing or even hitting the bar/post. should def be the other way around!

      You could have 2 players tied on the points index for 3bps, then one of them cracks a 30 yard screamer against the bar in injury time... so he gets minus points, and gets beaten to the 3bps. It is a flawed system.

      It's a joke, this is easily the worst decision they have ever made.

      This one isn't even debatable, HBA wasn't near the ball when you see the angle from behind the goal. They may aswell give the assist to Pardew.

    People who have Ba shouldn't be giving out about his assist/non-assist just for the sake of 3 points..........................................they just be giving out about it just for the sake of 4 points as going by my calculations he'd have edged Perch for the 1 BP.     Once again this boinus point system kicks us in the balls.

    The old system was a bit off but this is shit.

    At least the old system was 3, 2 or 1 point (6 in total) but this new sytem could hand out 8 or 9 points to players who (according to anyone who watches and knows football) dont deserve them.

    I hate how when it's close in your mini-league you pick your captain based on what you know your rival will pick. Last season i finished 4,700th in my first ever time playing fantasy football, and i did this by picking my own captains based on gut instinct every single GW (things like captaining Bale against Blackburn for a 34 point haul 'cause he was up against Salgado). I felt Adebayor was gonna get a couple of goals today because of Caulker not being able to play, Swanseas short backline, Adebayors height and the fact there was gonna be a lot of congestion in the middle of the park which'd leave chances mostly being made via crosses.

    But alas, i captained van Persie because i knew my rival would. Damage limitation ftl. Meh.

      Are you me???
      For me though, I thought it was 50:50 between them but when it's 50:50 I normally go with the player at home. I didn't really think about the height thing, but I did think Spurs players esp. Bale was more likely to be fouled for a penalty with Monk in defense.
