We’ve had the ball in for an examination – we’ve screened it for fibres from Hatem Ben Arfa’s boots and we can now reveal that the results were inconclusive. The forensics proved nothing – Quincy has let us down.

As you may have guessed, last weekend’s events at the Sports Direct Arena and the Fantasy Premier League’s assist ruling provides the topic of discussion for this week’s ScoutCast. Wrapped around that, Mark and I throw in the usual regulars and I try my best to keep my chin up throughout, despite the widening mini-league gap.

Bring this week’s episode in for an examination via this link. Or stream the evidence from the handy player below.

        Won't find out before the team sheets are out though. Think I'm gonna take a gamble on Shotton though as I can see Newcastle scoring.

      b) Bench McClean, but it's tight

      Not much in it, but personally I'd start Siggy, mainly because I see Sunderland vs Tottenham being fairly tight/low scoring. Reckon the Swansea match has goals in it.

    My main rival in my second league, did only have 5 players playing in GW34. Guess what transfer he has made this week? Rooney - Torres!!!! So now he only has 4 players. This was after I warned him about the blank week as well! Oh well. I can only help so much, I'm just gutted i only stand to win 30 quid on that league. My rival in my main league will definitely be set up for GW34 as he comes on here. He is 7 points ahead of me, but still has his wildcard. Mrs China Mag is 12 points clear of him at the top. He has got to be clear favourite.

    WARNING: Long post asking for help on my team. It will come off as very selfish, so skip this is you don't care.

    So everyone seems to completely hate the idea of me holding onto Ba for the double. In all honest,y I'm not crazy about it either:I just don't see a whole lot of other options. here are my three possible transfer plans.

    Plan A: Kill Ba

    33: Dempsey>Sess
    34: Ba>Odem (If there is a better striker for 34, I don't see it)

    GW 34 Team
    Vorm
    Caulker Verm Evans
    Sess Siggy Val
    Odem Roo RVP (10 Players)

    35: Odem>Ade
    36: Verm>Baines, Caulker>Kaboul

    GW 36 Team
    BOGDAN (vorm)
    BAINES SIMPSON SKRTEL KABOUL
    RYO BALE Sess Siggy (Val)
    ADE van persie (Rooney) (7 doubles)

    Forces me to play 4 at the back on a double gameweek....which sucks. I guess I could just do this plan and get Cisse for Rooney with zero Spurs defense, but that seems foolish, too.

    Plan B: Kill Simpson (aka the one where I keep Ba)
    33: Demps>Sess
    34: Simpson>Tuner

    GW 34 team
    Vorm
    Turner Verm Evans Caulker
    Val Siggy Sess
    RVP Rooney

    35: Rooney> Ade
    36: Verm>Baines, Caulker>BAE (4 point hit)

    GW 36 team
    BOGDAN
    BAINES BAE SKRTEL (Turner, Evans)
    BALE RYO Siggy Sess (Val)
    BA ADE van persie (7 doubles)

    This is why I want to keep Ba: I could get a Spurs defender and still play 7 full attackers. Sure, he sucks, but it just isn't worth it to transfer him out.

    Final Plan: Kill Ryo (also involves being stuck with Ba)

    GW 33: Dempsey >Sess
    GW 34:Ryo > Arteta (I know, crazy, right? Can't afford Walcott)

    GW 34 team:
    vorm
    Verm Caulker Evans
    Arteta Siggy Sess Val
    Rooney RVP

    35: Rooney>Ade
    36: Verm>Baines, Caulker> BAE (for a hit)

    GW 36
    BOGDAN
    BAINES BAE SKRTEL SIMPSON (Evans)
    BALE Siggy Sess (Tony, Arteta)
    BA ADE van persie (7 doublers)

    Kinda gels the two plans again, but I just HATE having to play 4 in the back on a double gameweek.

    You are WAY too kind if you read all of this and still want to help.

      I'm gonna say go with Plan B - Kill Simpson. Don't see a clean sheet in either of their games in the DGW, whereas I can see Ba scoring in both. Also enables you to play 3-4-3 with 4 DGW attacking players.

      Can you do option A, but go straight to Ade, or Dave, ignoring the fact they miss GW34? I think that dave will score more BOL, (N/A), STK, than Odem will score mci, QPR, liv

      That will also give you an extra transfer down the line to get in another DGW in you want

          It depends whether you think that Dave (or Ade) will score more over the 2 games than Odem will over 3. I think they will to be honest.

          And the extra transfer, means that you have an extra game in GW36.

      To be perfectly honest, I still prefer the first one...

      Don't like Turner at all... I fancy Sunderland upfront but not in defense over GW34-36...

      Waste of time getting Arteta in, I'd rather have Song... but seriously, in midfield Walcott or no one IMO...

      I think your biggest problem is choosing to retain Skrtel... why don't you consider ditching him in GW33/34 for Sagna/Gibbs, and double up on the Arsenal defense if you can't afford Walcott...

      I can see 2 Arsenal CS in wol, WIG games... then just bench them in GW36.

        Really? Two Arsenal cleanies? I guess their defense seems to stop/start for me that its hard to have faith in them.

        That is certainly an option. So that is basically the same as 'kill simpson' except getting rid of Skrtel instead for Arsenal defense, correct?

          Pretty much... with Sess in for Dempsey in GW34...

          With that you have a good team for GW35, so I'd hold that transfer in GW35 and hold on doing Rooney to Adebayor until GW36...

          With the other free you could do a straight swap, Sagna > BAE... then decide if you want to take a hit to boost your midfield...

                Ah, that makes a lot of sense.

                If I did that, I would indeed go Sagna>BAE, like you said.

                Surely it makes more sense to hold Skrtel over simpson, though? WAY better double GW, better offensive threat, and the defense should improve greatly once they arent forced to start the horror that is Jamie anymore.

      Your first plan is the best one.

      Get shot of Ba as he is a waste of a good striker spot in your team now. You also will have 8 DGW36 players not 7.

      I am going to do Rooney to Ade in GW 36 too. Has to be done!

          If it helps, here is my plan, and I have Ba too.

          GW32:
          No transfer

          GW33:
          Senderos -> Caulker/Turner

          GW34:
          Ba -> Bendtner (or Odem or other)
          to play:
          Vorm
          Evans Komp Caulker/Turner
          Siggy Walcott Valencia
          RVP Rooney Bendtner (or whoever)

          GW35: (still on two frees)
          Bendtner/whoever -> Cisse

          GW36:
          Rooney -> Ade
          Komp -> Baines
          to play:
          KRUL
          BAINES SKRTEL SIMPSON
          BALE DEMPSEY + 2 of valencia/siggy/walcott
          ADE CISSE rvp

          Considering a 4 pt hit to swap one of Simpson/Krul for a better dgwer.

          Maybe that helps you, maybe it doesn't...

      What about either:

      a)
      GW33: Save the transfer and just bench Ryo
      GW34: Skrtel & Simpson -> Kompany & a WBA defender
      GW35: save the transfer and bench, hmm, Siggy/Valencia
      GW36: Rooney, Caulker & Valencia -> Adebayor, BAE/Baines & Mata

      or b)
      GW33: Dempsey -> Walcott
      GW34: Skrtel -> Kompany
      GW35: save the transfer and bench, hmm, Siggy/Valencia
      GW36: Rooney, Caulker & Valencia -> Adebayor, BAE/Baines & Mata

        Surely Turner is a better sick than a WBA defender for 34? Both plans ignore Sess, which I consider a huge loss. Mata is also an insane prospect for me. I would take VDV over him all day. I think Baines is also someone I want really bad, which means both of your plans would leave me without Spurs defenders, which would also be nice.

        Don't get me wrong, thank you big time for putting hard work into this......

        But even these plans all stick me with Ba, anyway.

          Ah yes, Turner over WBA defence - forgot you didn't have Migs. I'm gonna brave it without Sess I think, but I am getting McClean instead. You considered losing Ryo -> McClean in GW34? Perhaps Skrtel -> Kaboul/BAE in GW33 and Ryo -> McClean in GW34? I'm not a huge fan of keeping Ba, but I think you have more pressing priorities elsewhere. Ba has good fixtures in GW33, 35 and a potentially high scoring DGW in 36, plus he's on pens, so if I had him, I'd probably stick.

            I bet hes off pens, though. Missed his last one.

            Mcclean underlying stats are just horrible. Its gotta be Sess.

              I think it might be ok to keep Ba. Don't think he's as bad as people make out. I'm losing him purely because I want to keep Bale and Dempsey more, and want 5 attackers for gw34. If he suddenly starts to outscore Cisse in the interim (entirely possible), I may get him back in for the double instead of Cisse.

                  I like his gw35 fixture, and his gw37 fixture, and he has a double in between, even if they aren't the best fixtures. Even against Chelsea at home he might get something.

                  Problem is, I can't see a route that doesn't either leave me a player less for the DGW or a benching nightmare. If you have time, what route would you take with lot?

                    Can you do Surman -> Sess funded by Suarez -> Bendtner or something?
                    Then you can play:

                    Komp Evans Caulker
                    Walcott Valencia Siggy Sess
                    RVP Rooney Bendtner

                    Not sure I'd want Bendtner & Sess. In all honesty, none of the 3rd striker spots playing GW34 really appeals, hence why I'm thinking of keeping Suarez.

                    okedoke, heres what I would do.

                    32: shotton to Kos (all your money, I think, also bench Kos this week)
                    33: Demps to Sess,
                    34: 4-4-2 bench Surman
                    35: Kos to BAE, Walcott to Bale for hit
                    36: Rooney to ade, Kompany to Baines for hit

                    I hate suarez, but I see why you would keep him, now. 11 for 34, and this for 36:

                    BOGS
                    BAINES SKRTEL BAE
                    Sess Siggy BALE Tony V

                    Cheers for looking into it mate. Only a few things I'm not keen on there:

                    1) Getting Kos this week - he's on 9 yellows, so if he gets booked this w/e then he's out of GW33 and GW34.
                    2) If I don't do a transfer in GW34 then i'd lose it
                    3) Getting Sess in GW33 (Everton away - they are uber stingy at home - actually fancy Dempsey to outcore Sess that week).
                    4) 2 point hits - was hoping for 1 at most, which I can do and get the same no of players in GW34 and DGW players in GW36 if I use the GW34 transfer (2) above.

                    Meh, this is getting tricky...

                    The only 'Sess' option I can see is this:

                    GW32: Shotton -> Kaboul
                    GW33: Dempsey -> Sess
                    GW34: Surman & Suarez -> Bale & Bendtner

                    Issues with this:

                    1) Sess & Bendtner (ideally only want one, max)
                    2) leaves no freebies rolled forward to GW35

    How much of an advantage can a rival make out of a WC team? I will probably have 7 players for the DGW plus 3 swansea, and 2 sunderland. There are not many changes I would make to my line up, even if I did have a WC to play with.

    My rival will pick a great WC team, as he wins our league every year, and comes on here. But how many more points do we think that he could gain over a well planned out non WC team?

        I'm planning on putting the holy trinity back together myself!

        If he was chasing, then he could go balls out and get the ultra risky midfield of VDV, Gerrard, Lampard and Mata, which could go big, but also could go very wrong. But he is 7 points ahead of my, and only 12 behind Mrs China Mag, so i don't see him gambling too much.

          (teams playing teams that have nothing to play far)

          I'd go BAE with Martin o'neil saying "squad players

            Yes, BAE's attacking point is something worth the risk. I keep him starting.. Thanks. 🙂

      I'd play Simpson. I think the chances of Newcastle not scoring are close to zero

      I'd play Simpson if you've already got Vorm. I don't think it's clear-cut enough to double, so better to hedge.

      I think Valencia is the better choice this week either way! Saying that, I don't have Rooney

    Right gents

    I have to lose 1 of these dgw players gw33 to get in Gibbs for 34.

    Thinking not just for gw36 but until the season end which one to leave, and why please....

    Simpson ?

    Enrique ?

    Shawcross?

    Thanks

      I think post-gw32 Shawcross only has one *really* tasty fixture, and that's in gw38, so I'd lose him. The other two at least have a double, though neither is exactly a must-have.

            It probably does actually. If funds are no object, I'd lose Simpson. I consider him disposable even though I have him.

              That was my original thought despite liverpools shite form and newcastles good.

      If assume that you will do the transfer in Gw34.. It's between Simpson and Enrique for me.

      Stoke's DGW is tough, but they will be at home and followed by two easy games.

      I tend to keep Enrique as I see him more chance for CS in DGW, but it depends on Liverpool form in Gw 32-33 before making decision.
