The Dugout Discussion opens for the concluding fixture of Gameweek 34, which sees 17th placed Wigan Athletic travel down the 3rd placed Arsenal. The team news for the game is in, and the sides line-up as follows…

Arsenal XI: Szczesny, Sagna, Djourou, Vermaelen, Andre Santos, Song, Arteta, Walcott, Rosicky, Benayoun, van Persie.

Wigan XI: Al Habsi, Alcaraz, Caldwell, Figueroa, Boyce, McCarthy, McArthur, Beausejour, Moses, Di Santo, Gomez.

A single change from the side that brushed Wolves aside for the Gunners, as Tomas Rosicky comes in for Aaron Ramsey in midfield.

Despite condemning Manchester United to only their fourth defeat of the season, Shaun Maloney isn’t in the visitors squad. Jordi Gomez replaces the Malaysian born Scot.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open and can be accessed right here.

Verm scoring a goal this game has no effect on if he'll score next game. He's scored back to back before.

He's just too dangerous to bench IMO. Enrique has a ceiling of basically 6 points unless you're very lucky and Pool are in awful form. Saying that I still have Skrtel so I can feel your pain xD

    Morning deadzone

I was all set on getting in moses for the last two games. Not much point if they are going to be safe by then is there?

Also no point in getting in dempsey for a hit this week. Wigan will win that one! Means the pressure will be off wigan when we play them the following week, making it easier for us!

Am I being greedy to want chelsea to beat arsenal at the weekend, so we can try and sneak 4th? Or should I be hoping arsenal knock chelsea further out of the running for 4th?

surely you should want arsenal win to give yourself a cushion so that even if you lose against chelsea you have the upper hand.

But it would be typical toon for us to do so well to qualify for the champions league in 4th place, then go and lose the qualifier to second rate opposition!!

I get that, but you will have to go through the non-champions route and maybe face likes of Monchengladbach, dynamo kiev, lazio, lille etc so either way you want face 'second rate' opposition. Even if you get knocked out you got Europa to go into.

Its certainly more difficult that spanish for example. But if you ignore the characters, and don't get wound up with the different intonations (basically stick to the easy bits, enough so you can be understood) its not THAT difficult! My wife of 7 years doesn't speak much english, so my mandarin must be ok!

Was so happy with my transfer plan before City started their season again!!!

    Current team is:

    Krul Ruddy

    Simpson Evans Caulker Baines Kelly

    Valencia Bale McClean Sigurdsson Walcott

    VP Roo Bentdner

My plan was (Let's call this option A):

35: Demps and PCisse in for Walcott and Bentdner (no hit)
36: Ade and Mata in for Roooo and McClean (4 pt hit)

The other option I am thinking of are (option B):

35: Aguero and Ben Arfa in for Bentdner and Walcott (no hit)
36: Ade and Mata for Roo and McClean. (4pt hit)

    And Option C:

35: Aguero, Dempsey and 4,5-5m defender in for Bentdner, Walcott and Baines. (4pt hit)
36: Ade and Mata in for Rooney and McClean (4 pt hit)

    Decisions decisions.........

I've gone so many plans like this and have just decided to go week by week at this stage of the season as so much can and does change. That being said for GW35 I would do tevez and barfa for Wally and sess for what it's worth.

Very glad I held on Rooney to Tevez last night, sorely tempted to lose Robin instead.

6 games without a goal in open play for a 13mil forward is terrible. He looked very subdued tonight, and another big factor is other players in the team are starting to score whereas before they relied on him.

If it wasn't for his name he'd be leaving every team, and he's there on reputation rather than worth now nearly, which is dangerous.

Just forget about them imo. Such small ownerships, that not owning their players won't have much of an effect on your ranking after that week. Think it will be much more advantageous to transfer in GW 36 doublers as it's consists of better teams with potential for bigger points e.t.c. x

Pienaar would be benched this week, I fancy his double more than HBA. I was looking at HBA/Papiss double act but looking elsewhere now.

There is no one else in that price range for the double that is appealing.

It is dependent on my mini leagues, I am 60 ahead in one and chasing 50-60 in an other. I am also into the last 16 of the PP cup! So I have two things to play for. It is dependent on how gutsy I feel and if I want to make move now or in DGW, no early transfers for me.

At this time I would feel easier to get rid of rooney over RVP. Rooney may go for Tevez/Aguero for GW35 and then to a DGW player (Ade/Jelavic) for GW36. Basically, I have no clue for now! Sorry not be of more use.

Dissapointed is more like it. Arsenal have been running hot for ages now and a game like this was coming from them. Walcott has be pure garbage but still somehow managed to nap some FF points. RVP has come of the boil quite a bit and djourou shouldn't be a pro footballer. Jesus don't let me even get started with Ramsey. I was looking for a fall guy to bring in HBA and I found one in Walcott.
