With the potential point-bonanza of Gameweek 36 upon us, the Paddy Power Cup VI enters the Quarter-Final stage. Here’s how the sixth round panned out, giving us our final eight…

The highest-ranked fantasy managers going in to the Last Sixteen was jamie1974, but his opponent mch wasn’t fazed one bit. He notched the top-score of the round to dismiss the favourite 75 – 55.

That makes 1,527th ranked DrD the new favourite, who enters the Quarter-Final stage after narrowly beating Mowgli 52 – 50. Let’s see who he now faces…

Good luck to our eight Quarter-Finalists! I’ll post the results shortly after the double Gameweek has concluded.

Really stuck with what to do – would appreciate your help guys please:

    Szcesny (Habsi)
    SIMPSON Caulker SHAWCROSS (Evans BAE)
    McClean Siggy DEMPSEY BALE (Valencia)
    Rvp Rooney CISSE

I have 2FT and £2.8m in the Bank.

    A) Am worried about fiddling with Rvp/Rooney – JELAVIC.
    B) Thinking to do McClean – PIENAAR and Szcesny – HOWARD instead.
    C) Or could do Valencia – PIENAAR, Szcesny – CECH and McClean – Moses next week.

    Thoughts?

In many ways United are having an even a worse season than last, but are still winning.

And Rooney keeps tucking away goals even though his play in general is quite dire at the moment.

    What’s going on?!

Personally I think they blew it last week... they're only leading because of citys awful slump, but I can see city doing them over on Monday, and winning the league on goal difference. Looks to me like the early season City are back, can't see anyone stopping them. Utd needed to beat Everton last week, that was a gigantic match.

There's the problem. They looked good in the two games prior to the Utd-Everton game but were pretty average against Wolves.

I think they might struggle to play "must-win" games and United will end up stealing the thing again.

United wouldn't have needed the City slump hadn't it been for their own slump prior to that though. I think that pendulum swings both ways throughout a season.

It's an utter mystery to me why Chelsea and Arsenal (and Spurs for that matter), plummet when the form is bad, but United, and Rooney, never seem to turn off their points facet at all.

    LOPP

Need some advice (More approval than advice). Should have asked earlier but I guess it’s too late.

I am leading my ML by 16(-4) = 12 points.

    I did the following transfers

    Turner –> Hibbert (Free)
    Fletcher —> Jelavic (-4)

    Team:
    Krul (Vorm)
Hibbert Ream Caulker (McAuley, Evans J)
Dempsey Ben Arfa Sigurdsson Bale(v) (Nani)
    Jelavic(c), Tevez,Rooney

What do you guys think? Should I take another hit and do Tevez -> Cisse? I don’t really think I should as Cisse has kaka fixtures in 37 and 38 plus wigan and chelsea look on form.

      A. Not a fan of Piernaar and Bale seems off colour. Liking the VDV love which seems to be gathering momentum.

Morning gents. I've stuck to my guns with my DGW plans for so far. I'm just wondering on what the general consensus would be on taking a hit for another DGW player.

As in, would anyone take a hit to swap any of these boys to a DGWer?

    Turner
    Caulker
    Sess
    Aguero
    Rooney

I've already got Bale,Cech,Kaboul (if fit) Jelly and Peinaar as my DGW contingent.

Sess to Demps, Rooney to Cisse, anything like that take anyones fancy?

    Morning all

Transferred Walcott out early for Pienaar but thinking of another change. Team so far is:

    Vorm (mign)
    BAE*, Turner, Simpson* (clichy, JEvans)
    Dempsey*, Siggy, Pienaar*, HBA* (Valencia)
    RVP, Cisse*, Rooney

    Options:
    RVP > Jelly (-4)
    Valencia > VDV (-4)
    BAE > Terry* (-4)

Can't see that many clean sheets for my defence this DGW so am leaning towards RVP > Jelly as his form has been so bad. Think Rooney will score against Man City.

Doesn't seem daft if you think Jelavic will outscore the City guys.

right then, busy day for me tomorrow so today is my decision day....or not.

already did McClean > Pienaar and ended up with this little lot:

    KRUL
    Verm, Caulker, BAE
    Siggy, BALE, DEMPS, PIENAAR
    RvP, PCISSE(C), Tevez

    Mig, Valencia, McAuley, JEvans.

no hit, no buts and my SGW players have decent fixtures too.

and it also gives me someone playing on every match day, which is always nice.

    yes, yes. you like?

100+ point lead in my ML so climbing the rankings is my goal. and, as you know from your lofty position, -4 or -8 hit can cost 200-300 places.

plus my FPL Open opponent has a similar team and only made 1FT this week so i don't want to fall behind before a ball has been kicked in anger.

If it's only rank you're now going for, then it's more a case of whether you think they'll score more, vs being cautious and protecting a lead by keeping players your rivals have etc.

But Valencia and Evans are good for GW37 so there's not much room for improvement AND keep it good for GW37-38.

What's the most profitable hits people have taken this season? I've only taken 3 hits (seperate weeks) with these profits/(losses) (including the hit):

    GW10: +3 points
    GW18: -12 points (shocker)
    GW22: +7 points

    Overall: -2 points
    Conclusion: Don't take hits

Yeah, the above is a bit of a simplistic way of looking at it. Don't think my hits were too jerky though.

        GW18 I did Jones (inj), Brown (EVE) & Suarez (BLA) -> JEvans (WIG), Rooney(WIG) & Caulker(QPR)

MUN won 5-0 and my players scored 0,1 and 3.

Salt in the wound was that Simpson (8) would have come on for Jones!

          Those look like proper transfers.

You cant really help it if you have players injured. You take a hit and hope for the best.

Also you can do 1 hit for every FT during a DGW. Just playing for 60 minutes negates the hit.. 😉

Ignore me I'm wrong. It's a decent transfer because it's long term and even if it doesn't work out this week alone, it should surely pay off by the end of the season because of Everton's good fixtures.

Yes taking into account BAE probably won't play again this season and Everton have good value with fixtures after this game week. Though if you could afford it, I'd feel safer with Jag than Hibbert playing all of the remaining games.
