So much for the theory that stability is the foundation of success. While many were up in arms over the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas, with the Portuguese manager granted a mere eight months of the 2011/12 season before his services were deemed surplus to requirement, the chopping and changing seems to have worked at Stamford Bridge.

Roberto Di Matteo has made an immediate impact since settling in as interim manager earlier last month. Guiding the Blues to the FA Cup Final and upsetting the odds with a Nou Camp draw last Tuesday, the Italian is now afforded the chance of two lots of silverware, boosting his chances of landing the job on a permanent basis. With a couple of home ties against QPR and Newcastle this Gameweek, many Fantasy managers are eying up Chelsea’s Fantasy assets but, with rest and rotation set to kick in, picking the right choice is proving to be a tricky task.

Step forward Fernando Torres. A look at Di Matteo’s recent selection policy suggests it’s Didier Drogba who is likely to be tasked with leading the line in the cup competitions and, with three starts in the last four Gameweeks, the Spaniard looks more inclined to be handed game time in the league. Priced at 9.8 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Torres has returned a respectable 5.25 points per game over the last four matches, with a goal, three assists and a bonus point accrued.

Although QPR have upset the form book with wins over the likes of Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool in recent weeks, all these results have come at Loftus Road – Mark Hughes’ outfit have lost their last six on the road, in comparison. While Newcastle’s defence have been returning the points with a recent regularity, it’s worth noting that most of their clean sheets have come at the Sports Direct Arena – they’ve kept out their opponents only twice in the last seven road trips.

Let’s be honest – El Nino has hardly set the league alight since moving to the Bridge but, as his equaliser at Barcelona highlighted, he’s still more than capable of finding the net and seems to have increased in confidence under Di Matteo’s guidance. It’s a risk, clearly – there’s every chance he could fail to fire and you could be left kicking yourself for snapping up his services – but, with an ownership of just 2.9% and games against Liverpool and Blackburn to see out the season, it’s one that could reap reward for those Fantasy managers scouring the market for a mini-league gamble.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Is it madness starting Baines and BAE when neither is certain to play. I just get the feeling that they will both start and it will cost me 8 points to change them. My subs will be Evans and Kompany and Evans is a doubt.

What is this "Everton have nothing left to play for" thing that everyone keeps saying? They're in line for Europa qualification and even without that, they always want to finish higher than Liverpool.

I agree though, they're playing just fine without Baines. They even appear to be more of a goal threat, perversely. Though that might be just coincidence that Jelavic and Pienaar have started to settle just at the same time that Baines went out.

Morning! What do you think of these options:

    Aguero,Walcott,Rangel > Jellyfish,VDV,Terry

    or

    Aguero,Walcott,Sess > Jellyfish,VDV,Mata

The no2 guy in my mini league has Mata but I don't think he'll play many minutes, where as Terry will probably play 90ish in both games due to the Red.

My defence is currently Caulker (WOL), Kompany (MUN), Vermaelen (sto). Evans J (mci) and Assou-Ekotto (INJURED) on the bench.

Not sure if I should take a hit to get the jellyman in.

Currently its RVP, Aguero, Dave Cisse

I’m only 30 points ahead in my mini league and my opponent still has his WC…… so i’m bricking it!

Worth the hit and for who?

trailing my ML leader by 33 points. he has taken a 4 point hit this week, i think to take out RVP and Roo for Cisse and Jelavic (although his transfers are highly unpredictable).

Him: vorm verm kilgallon caulker SHOTTON DEMP nasri LENNON mcclean aguero CISSE JEL (3 non playing subs)
Me: KRUL verm KELLY caulker DEMP PIENAAR BALE tony V roo CISSE rvp (dyer turner jevans)

i think my team looks much stronger, but am thinking of getting in walker for a 4 point hit (same as him) and playing him over tony V.

    worth it?

These Johnny Evans rumours have laid to rest my intent to transfer in Vdv this gw. With Baines out and Kelly unlikely I have little option but to focus instead on strengthening my defence. Am thinking Baines>Terry is the best transfer, but I am reluctant to loose Baines if he is odds on to return for gw37. The other options (*Huth, Walker, Jags etc) are already being widely posted on here so I won't duplicate.

Any advice appreciated. Essentially, down to swapping out Baines>Terry or Kelly>*other

    Cheers

    Team is:

    Bogdan*
    Huth* Skrtel* Vermaelen
Bale* Dempsey* Petrov* Ben Arfa* Sigurdsson
    Cisse* Jelavic*

    Ruddy Rooney Caulker Evans

    Any advice?

Another transfer would be a 4pt hit. Have an urge to get Torres in for Rooney...madness? If not, play Rooney or Siggy? Currently have the armband on Cisse, but thinking of switching it to Bale...

    Any help appreciated!

I would personally play Rooney over Siggy, but that just me! Dodgy penalty, title decider, biggest rivals, big stage etc. etc.

Just a thought, but does the fact that the league have cancelled the handshakes at QPR v Chelsea indicate that Terry would be starting? Or am I reading into it too much? The clubs had a meeting with the league, if Terry wasn't starting he wouldn't be involved in the handshake.

I just can't see Terry sitting out the second game either Granville. Chelsea need to push for 4th spot and their options are very limited.

I think he was always going to start regardless, given the injuries to Cahill/Luiz/Ivanovic(suspension). No point rushing Cahill/Luiz back when Terry would miss the CL final anyway.
