The bumper Gameweek 36 gives us no fewer than 14 Premier League fixtures to enjoy and hopefully score plenty of fantasy points in. The Dugout Discussion opens today to witness half of those, with six 3pm games and an evening kick-off.

At the Britannia Stadium, Stoke host third placed Arsenal, with the visitors needing a win to keep Newcastle and Spurs at bay. With Chelsea only one win away from securing Champions League football next season, Newcastle know that only a win away at Wigan will suffice.

As well as the game at the DW Stadium, there’s another two games with huge implications for the bottom of the league. Sunderland host struggling Bolton, who will have gained confidence from a midweek win against Aston Villa. Villa, who were themselves dragged into the relegation battle as a result of that defeat, travel to West Brom for a fiercely fought Black Country derby.

As always at this time of the season, there are a few games of little significance. Having either successfully avoided relegation, unsuccessfully challenged for Europe, or (in Wolves’ case) already been condemned to relegation, the other three fixtures will be confined to end billing on tonight’s Match of the Day.

Follow all of the action today in our Dugout Discussion chatroom, which will remain open until the game between Norwich and Liverpool this evening concludes. You can access the chatroom right here.

Werder Bremen general manager Klaus Allofs has just ruled out the possibility of a loan deal for Lukaku, but the North German side are interested in taking another (as yet unnamed) Chelsea player on loan.

Marko Marin's transfer fee is believed to be €7-8 million, which would be less than Bremen paid for him when he moved from Mönchengladbach in 2009. His stock has fallen recently due to Werder's slump and his own appalling reputation for diving.

Werder Bremen are in a bad way financially, hence the fire sale of players such as Marin, goalkeeper Tim Wiese (who is moving to Hoffenheim) and probably Claudio Pizarro.

There's no way in the world that they'd be able to afford Malouda's wages, and probably not Kalou's either. The loan will probably be for a young Chelsea squad player, who needs game time, although Frank Arnesen hoovered up most of those for Hamburger SV over the summer.

    Cech

    Terry, Hibbert, Gallas

    Bale, Petrov, Demps, Pienaar

    Cisse, Jelly, Ade (c)

    Subs: Bogdan, Nani, Caldwall, Evans

Im 60+ points clear so i have a bit of a cushion, but is he going to be in trouble for gw 37 & gw 38 by having so many dgw players?

Look, I'm not a fan of Mc Leish by any means and I really don't enjoy the football style he plays but why are people giving out about him parking the bus for this match and going for the draw after praising Chelsea for doing the exact same thing against Barcelona? Honestly I must be missing something because I can't understand it.

Parking the bus against WBA is different to doing it against Barcelona. McLeish parks the bus against nearly every opponent and his teams are dire to watch.

Ah but this is proper parking the bus. He's extremely defensive but 6-7 defenders today is a whole new level, Chelseaesque bus parking. Was just curious as to why people were so annoyed at him. As I said I don't like his play.

Yeah but not exactly tearing down defences this year so really, a point is probably the best available with the squad they have. Anything to stay out of the drop zone.

Because a 2-1 loss isn't good enough for us today...

Plus he's done it all season, which is why we're in this position. Playing in this way was necessary for Chelsea to qualify.

And that's fair enough, I don't like his style as I've said. But realistically Villa have not had any attacking strength at all this season so is he maybe approaching it as just get the point. In other words, is he doing what is necessary for them to stay up?

He has played defensive all year. He has a much better squad than Birmingham in 10/11. IMO parking the bus for the 0-0 against WBA is unacceptable. Do it at OT, stanford bridge, anfield is fine, but against WBA!

It doesn't matter what we say though, if they get a point today then it's a result. That's all that matters. After the season is done, villa should sack him.

Well it's a better squad but the Brum defence was a better unit of defenders although Villa were defensively strong that year too. See, the angle I'm coming from is that Villa have not scored goals well this year so maybe he's doing what he has to do to keep them out of the drop zone? When they go out for goals they tend to lose...
