As the season draws to a close and Fantasy managers begin to focus on next month’s Euro 2012 tournament in Poland and Ukraine, we’re not quite done with domestic matters just yet. Ahead of next weekend, then, we’re rolling out another Last Chance Saloon League, while also casting an eye over the Scout League, with our chances of providing a third successive Fantasy Premier League (FPL) champion looking strong:

This morning, we’ve opened up the Last Chance Saloon league ahead of next Sunday’s 11.30 deadline. The rules are simple- the scoring applies to Gameweek 38 only, and the team with the highest tally over next weekend’s ten fixtures takes the crown. We will NOT, however, allow entry to fresh teams, as this goes against the spirit of the competition. Pretty straightforward, really.

There’s no prize on the line here. No gold-plated yacht moored in Monaco or vouchers to spend on assorted sundries – purely pride and bragging rights are the order of the day.

So if you fancy giving Granville something else to moan about before the season is out, or are keen to knock Mark off his lofty perch, sign up using the code below and prepare yourself for battle.

759-591909

While many will be happy to take on the challenge and salvage a season of disappointment, at the top of the Scout League there’s plenty more at stake. Gary McLean looks to be firmly in the driving seat to take the crown – he’s 13 points clear of second-placed Jonathan Pickard and, with Martin Skrtel still to play tomorrow evening, will be hoping for a Liverpool clean sheet against Chelsea to extend his cushion at the summit.

Indeed, a further look at the Overall Standings suggests Gary could well be poised to climb to number one in the world by Tuesday evening. Currently sitting third in the rankings, he is just five points off the top but that Anfield encounter looks crucial to his chances. If Liverpool can keep Chelsea at bay and also find the net, his team would climb ahead of Sam Pater and Garry Bothwell and sit at the top of the leaderboard with a single Gameweek remaining. Nervy times indeed.

We wish Gary all the best in his quest for glory and hope he can follow in the footsteps of Jon Reeson in 2009/10 and Chris McGurn in 2010/11 by delivering the FPL title and Scout League double.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I think they need a solid striker. Not Ronaldo, but someone up there in the middle to finish off goals. I don't think Postiga or Almeida are World Class anymore.

Tough group. Germany and Netherlands more poised to go through though.

Unlikely to go through, no clinical striker and a below par defence. Also Germany & The Netherlands will f*ck em' up in that group.

    Walker/Evra | Terry | Ivanovic (Boyce, Kilgallon)
VDV | Silva | Moses | Ramires (Sigurdsson)

100% true, Denmark are no pushovers though. Of course Germany aren't either, but I still think Ronaldo looks a good option when you consider how slow Germnay's central defenders are.

      Cech | Given
Puyol Evra Piszczek | Corluka Kelly
Ozil Iniesta Kallstrom Perisic | Eriksen
      Remy Robben Lewandowski

But plenty of these will change. Need to observe Piszczek, Corluka, Kelly, Perisic, Kallstrom, Eriksen and Remy before I nod them off.

Boating Anyukov Olssen | Papadoupolos Strnic
Sneijder, Gerrard, Ozil, Meireles | De Jong
      Ibrahimovic Benzema Pogrebnyak

I reckon Cech/Given pairing should be good for the money,
Ozil is the easiest to predict German attacking player,
Gerrard may once again carry England,
Sneijder is more nailed on than RVP/Huntelaar/Kuyt,
      Meireles looks good value.
Ibra and Benzema are the main threats for their sides.

Jelavic was barely involved for Croatia, seemingly behind Olic and Kalinic in the pecking order, while Pog is a rotation risk too I might gamble on him.

Want to put in some Spanish attacking cover, but can't decide who..

10 points for a fly kick in the ribs
1 point per mistimed tackle that goes unpunished
5 points per injury caused by a tackle
        4 points for a goal

It all adds up, greater points ceiling than Ronaldo.

No they wont. Klose competes with Gomez for the lone striker position and Reus, Podolski, Mueller compete for the two positions on the wing. With Mueller probably being the most nailed on. Schuerrle, Goetze, Kross with an outside chance as well but the latter look more likely to be Ozil backup or in the case of Kross even as a Schweinsteiger/Khedira option, although that hasnt really worked too well in the past.

Hodgson had bad experiences with Johnson. Did you see his twitter rant about hogdson when he was at Liverpool? karma, Johnson will pay for making those comments. I would play walker, don't trust Richards to defend.

Even Mancici doesn't seem to trust Richards defensively in the bug games though..

Walker is nothing special tbh, he's quite a good right back, but going forward he seems to get a bit lost. And surprisingly in the most recent Spurs Liverpool game, Johnson played LB and had Walker in his pocket all day.

All in all, I've no idea, Roy has a tough decision on CB pairing and RB
