Euro 2012 – Matchday One – Dugout Discussion

We have lift off. Euro 2012 gets underway with co-hosts Poland taking on Greece for the early evening clash, before Russia face the Czech Republic in the late game in the same group. After weeks of speculation and tinkering, the Summer’s feast of football begins and we’re here to cover it kick by kick.

Our Dugout Discussion chatroom is now open to soak up any real-time banter.

The lineups are now in and, so far, they’re going according to plan in our predicted Group A starting XIs:

Poland:Szczesny; Piszczek, Perquis, Wasilewski, Boenisch; Polanski, Murawski; Blaszczykowski, Obraniak, Rybus; Lewandowski.

Greece: Chalkias; Torisidis, Avram Papadopoulos, Papastathopoulos, Holebas; Maniatis, Katsouranis, Karagounis; Ninis, Gekas, Samaras.

    Perquis looks a decent goal threat and Piszczek look dangerous down the flanks for assist. Both look good options for the WC!

      Yep.

      Had a Uruguayian player (Loderio I think) in one of the first games of the World Cup and he got a red card (from the bench I think) and I was subsiquently quite miffed not being able to sub him. Makes sense though.

    Half time report:

    Poland - Kuba is their main man, and monitors most of their attacking moves. Lewa, being the target man, looks set to get more goals. Overall, their performance was very good.

    Greece - The only lively thing about them was Ninis, working hard putting in crosses. Samaras was the only one other than Ninis, working hard. Their defense as opposed to its reputation is fragile and with one man down and one defender injured, they will find it difficult to stop goals going in.

    P.S The ref has been paid off 😉

      I think Obraniak has been the best man of Poland, but he monitors the offense from a bit deeper position than Kuba.

    bonZ says (earlier today on FFS).....

    Pro League Auctions – too many gutless time wasters made running comps a chore – even chairmen stopped taking interest!! Cheers lads just like to collectively call you all a bunch of tw*ts!!

    As is Ian Hart – Pro League Games manager had to step in and delete those that failed to bid at all – but in cases where they had bid already – he had to finish bidding to get the 15 players!!

    Thanks to all those that did take part and follow through to conclusion and to those that didnt i would send the boys round to smash your PC and TV up as a thank you for the aggravation that you caused!!

    Chairman – AZ Phillips (Azzers) is to have a special visit for allowing 9 other’s to make 3 rounds of bidding before vanishing like a cheap whore in the night!

    Lanre Danmola – what a complete Khunt – he sabotaged countless leagues bidding a few times but vanishing from all needed a few extra players – i hope the boys take to his knee caps!!

    A-O-Chamberlain – a regular trawler in last few days he bailed a league of 9 on 14 players – despite chasing the cumsucker on these boards last night!

    Jamie Dav doesn’t escape the criticism either another serial bellend sucker that left a few leagues waiting completion.

    Whilst all were completed – it proved more difficult than it had to, dragged out a simple process and has caused several real participants problems with accessing teams in time for the early KO.

    I really hope your mothers burn you dinner then pour your cup of tea over you gonads causing severe blisters and prevent you masterbating throughout the entire tournament!!!
