The Fantasy Premier League (FPL) twitter drip-feed continued this afternoon and following on from the player price revelations of Wednesday and Thursday, we have been given our first glimpse of valuations from Man City, Arsenal and Everton. After a couple of misfires, where our hopes over a certain Argentine were momentarily raised, we received the following information in the end:

Carlos Tevez has been handed a price tag of 9.0 – down dramatically from 12.0 and a valuation that gives Fantasy managers plenty of food for thought ahead of the new season. Having made his peace with Roberto Mancini, the Argentine’s return to the first-team in Gameweek 33 earned City six back-to-back victories as his partnership with Sergio Aguero up top went from strength to strength. Although there’s talk of AC Milan reviving their interest in a bid if the Serie A giants can finalise the transfer of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to PSG, the ideal scenario now for Fantasy managers would be to see Tevez staying put at the Etihad – at that price, he could be a real prospect if he replicate the FPL returns of 2009/10 and 2010/11, where he returned 210 and 185 points respectively. Tevez’s cost looks all the more enticing bearing in mind that Aguero, with 211 points in his debut season, is surely set for a rise from his starting cost of 11.0 in the previous campaign. Clearly, FPL have been far kinder on Tevez than Sky; he comes in at 9.4 in the latter game – the sixth most expensive forward and just 0.5 less than Aguero.

Olivier Giroud is also priced at 9.0, though his appeal is almost certainly dependant on whether Robin Van Persie leaves the Emirates this summer. The Gunners admitted earlier this week that Giroud has been purchased as a direct replacement for their want-away skipper – Van Persie’s departure would afford us the chance to pick up Arsenal’s main forward for a more than reasonable price. If the Dutchman stays, however, Giroud’s starts and subsequent game time will take a turn for the worse; bearing in mind Van Persie is also surely set for a price hike from last year’s starting value of 12.0 after he finished the season with 269 points FPL points, his departure from the Premier League altogether could well be the ideal scenario as we look to balance our budgets. The Frenchman comes in at 8.7 in the Sky game – dearer than Lukas Podolski (8.5) but far behind Van Persie at 10.0.

Finally, Nikica Jelavic comes in at 8.5 for the new season. With little competition for the lone forward role in David Moyes’ preferred 4-5-1, the Croatian looks fairly priced when you consider his level of returns upon arriving at Goodison last January. Jelavic grabbed nine goals and 11 FPL bonus points in just 10 starts since his move from Glasgow Rangers – an average of 5.3 points per game sums up just how quickly he settled. Bearing mind Papiss Cisse was slapped with a 9.5 price tag yesterday, the Everton man looks strong value and providing he can keep injury-free, will find himself in plenty of Fantasy teams if he can maintain anywhere near the same level of performance. Sky have also been kind to the Croatian – he comes in at 8.1, the same as Darren Bent, but less than the likes of Daniel Sturridge (8.5) and Danny Graham (8.4).

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

You'd think that the FA would find it difficult to justify a charge when the courts had already found Terry not guilty.

Unless it were for a different offence, it could even open the FA to litigation themselves.

BBC Sports News correspondent Dan Roan outside Westminster Magistrates Court:
"The question is what the Football Association do now. John Terry has been found not guilty, but the FA may now decide to reopen their investigation which was put on hold once the police investigation started. That may now conduct their own investigation and see if John Terry has anything to answer."

Former Football Association chief executive Mark Palios on Sky Sports News:
"It's a verdict that has come down through due process of the legal system. The FA had to stand back and let it happen. Now it's a question for the FA to look at the evidence and look at their disrepute charges."

So you havent seen the clip where he undoubtedly calls Ferdinand a black c**t? No, Terry is the model citizen. He never does anything wrong. Oh wait..

I dont think so, no. Without evidence you shouldnt be allowed to convict someone just based on another persons accusations. Obviously Suarez said things he shouldnt have and that should have been dealt with, but 8 games without evidence is just ridiculous.

i`ve seen the clip when terry goes " what, a black so and so?" in response to Anton questioning him about him - seriously if what you are saying is right how could any court not find him guilty. The fact is JT didn`t say it, and thats been proven in court imo

Is it not unfair because Suarez was found guilty and served a 8-game ban without no clear evidence, just based on reputation alone? And Terry, with evidence, gets free and clear just because someone was smart enough to press civil charges because they needed him to play in the Euros for England?

Clear evidence of what? The video of him saying it? It's all about context.....you don't know why he said it?

I repeated it to someone this morning when they asked me what he'd said. Now, if you got video footage of me saying only that and not the whole conversation, would you brand me as a racist without finding out the full story?

I didn't follow the case in great detail, nor am I a legal expert so I can't comment on whether justice was done or not. The court of public opinion will make its own verdict and my own opinion on John Terry is unaffected by today's judgement. A very good footballer, but from what I can discern from media and now legal coverage, John Terry is an odious fool whose actions bring himself and the sport into disrepute. The details emerging from this case paint an embarrassing picture of a man (not gentleman) puffed up with self-importance using language he doesn't fully understand with consequences he doesn't really understand either. On top of that, he is surrounded by people eager to support him who also seem blissfully ignorant of the stupidity of the man. His character (along with some other individuals') is the reason why I do not support England and actually relish them being beaten and knocked out of tournaments.

He is a good footballer, is fabulously wealthy and professionally very successful. Those things are probably very important to him at this stage of life. What a shame that when he is older and those things matter a little less and things like legacy become more important, he might regret being such a tool. I cannot imagine him being one of the elder statesmen of the game such as Beckenbauer, Charlton, Lineker, et al. Captain? Yes. Leader? Yes. Legend? Only in his own mind. In my mind he's something else ending in -end.

I'm giving serious consideration to going with Tevez and Aguero up top for the opening gameweeks.

Like the double Citeh thinking, just not a massive fan of Holt's first few fixtures, personally.

I've got a love of big lumbering centre forwards, since that is well how I might be described.

Haha, i can appreciate that. I love playing the wrong players in DGW's so that is why Torres features in my pick.

I'd always thought John Terry was guilty as charged. Then I realised I'd misread the word "ra pist".

compare what terry allegedy said and what suarez allegedy said. no contest. one was prolonged and repetitive and therefore more calculated with a definite absence of guilt, the other was one word.
i have no opinion on terry's verdict but i don't think comparing him and suarez is fair. calculated comments > stupidity

this may not be the reason one was dealt with by the FA, and the other the law, i don't know (likely wasn't) basically i don't think suarez is relevent at this point. judge the terry case in isolation imo

Indeed, I think that's the clear difference between the Terry and Suarez cases.

Lots of opinions on this but it's a massive can of worms and we can't recreate it blow for blow here.

      Lets move on.

      Terry is available for GW1.

The Suarez thing always reminded me of that scene in The Office where David can't remember the name of the dog in the Dambusters and Gareth reminds him. David's response is something along the lines of "Yeah, it was the 40's, before racism was bad".

Substitute South America for the 40's and you more or less have Suarez's defence!

Shocked Tevez is so low but people could be hit hard because there will surely be rotation between him and Mario..BUt still a great option at 9M, Jelavic is ok too for me, him or Bent will probably be in my team.

    STATEMENT ON JOHN TERRY
Posted on: Fri 13 Jul 2012
Chelsea Football Club notes and respects Chief Magistrate Howard Riddle's decision to clear John Terry of the charge against him. We are pleased that John can now focus on football and his pre-season preparations with the team.
