Another piece in the Fantasy Football Scout jigsaw for the new season was restored this evening, with the Set Piece Takers table published and added to the top menu bar.

Andy has rinsed through all the Premier League clubs and added details for all the Penalty, Direct Free Kick and Corner/Indirect Free Kick takers. When it comes to Penalties and Free Kicks, the players are listed according to the current perceived pecking order.

As we get more data from the pre-season matches, we’ll be refreshing the table accordingly. Plus, once the season starts, we’ll be keeping this table up to date to reflect any changes and pecking order shuffles for each team.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

So, the untried and expensive Mr Hazard is the fourth most popular pick in the FPl, ahead of the proven and trusted like Silva, Bale, Dempsey, Mata & Valencia (to name but a few).

I'm finding it very hard to settle on a 3rd striker atm.

Assumung most are going with 2 of the big 4 (Torres, Rooney, Aguero, Boselli), most will be in a position where they're trying to find a decent cheap(er) option. The only viable names for me are Ba, Graham, Bent, Djerbil and Petric, and they all have their downfalls. Ba's gone off the boil, Graham isn't prolific and is a boring pick, Bent hasn't played in ages, Djerbil is erratic in the extreme and Petric is unproven in the EPL.

This has led to me being sorely tempted to downsize my midfield and go with Rooney, Torres and Aguero upfront. My plan would then be to reassess before GW3, ditch whichever isn't pulling their weight (most likely Torres) and bring in the bargain forward who's done well, and do the opposite to my midfield, upgrading to whichever of the new names really establishes themselves for a midsize who flops early on.

Am I making any sense here? 🙂

I'm still trying to work that out myself, Supersonic.

I'm loathe to pay over £10m for a keeper combo. I like Mignolet and Green and I also like Vorm and Green too.

Now that Spain are out of the Olympics I am wondering whether DDG and a £4.5m keeper is the ay to go (but not Federici as don't think Reading will keep many cleanies and don't want to lose save points because keeper is letting in 4 goals every weekend).

    GW1:

    Federici* (Cerny)
    Cole* - Rangel - Gunter* (Demel/Cuellar)
Silva - Hazard* - Sinclair - Guthrie* (Sess)
    Aguero - Torres* - Graham

I have 1.0 still left in the bank.
*Is the 6 DGW players that I have
Sess is on the bench for GW1 as he plays ars but will come on for Guthrie when he plays RDG.

Hey, fellow simian. There are different opinions on here, judging by what I've read most people are going for a cheapie/cheapie rotation.
I think l'd get Federici to play in GW1 and one decent keeper, probably DDG to play after that. Rotating goalkeepers never worked out well for me in any of previous seasons, so I'm kind of disappointed in the whole idea.

Beausejor is a better pick in my opinion. £0.5m more but pretty much as assist magnet for Wigan.

Not sure Maloney is even first choice pen taker actually.

OK I've deliberately stayed away and mulled things over, here is where i stand, after a lot of consideration.

By the way its crazy thunder and lightning here in Amsterdam... I love it!

    federici / de gea

    ivanoivic / lescott / dawson / fabil / cuellar

    silva / ramires / noble / pienaar / maloney

    torres / augero / pog

2.5 in the bank for various tinkering options....upgrade ramires to kagawa perhaps (although I am banking on his industry for both games in the midifield in GWK1), or Torres / Aguero to Rooney

let me know you thoughts ladies and gents, please.... 🙂

But i'm not convinced Wilson will start, i may be wrong but haven't Stoke signed someone? And Lampard plays as a holding midfielder, he's not 9m material, i think Ramires or Marin will score more at 7m.

Lampard or Hazard could turn into Mata. I will see after the charity shield. They are only 1-2 week punts.

Hangeland and Rangel are good for 10 weeks.
McCartney and Wilson rotate perfectly for the season.
Font is a nailed on 5th choice £4m goal threat.
Davis and Green rotate really well & remember save points.

I'm kind of happy with current incarnation (though it will inevitably change tomorrow)

    De Gea (Federici)
    Vermaelen Clichy Rafael (Clyne) (Fabio)
    Silva Ramires Kagawa (Maloney) (Kackaniklic)
    Torres Podolski Tevez

3 from the 2 favourites (with more money spent on the favourite)
2 from each of the 3rd and 4th (as I see it)
And some exciting (in my eyes) rotation fodder. Only pick I'm not wild about is Maloney.

Suarez/Cisse options if Podolski doesn't smash it from the off - but I reckon he might do.

RVP decision hinges a lot but I guess that's the same for everyone.

My attack has been sorted for a week, but my defence is really difficult to perfect, especially the keepers! I currently have:

    Green Al-habsi
Ivanovic/Vidic | (Coloccini Cuellar) (Rangel Hughes)

The main concern are the keepers, would you downgrade Hughes to Gunter to get Friedal?

I like the idea. Tottenham's fixtures look sumptuous too, if they can put up with the high defensive line Beeyash-Boyash plays. Get Friedel in there, you'll feel better. 😉

True, it's nice not to have too much money tied up in keepers. And that's the thing, people are getting him because of fixtures, but what after? You don't want to waste a transfer on a keeper and wouldn't want him all the way til January.

I think I'll have a punt on one of Fulham's Frei or Kackaniklic if either look like getting some decent minutes. Don't mind a bit of a punt for that squad position and at 4.5. No idea on rotation though.
