Has a stitched Wayne Rooney made things simple? Have we already got the template attacking lineup? Certainly Robin Van Persie’s goal, coupled with the injury to Rooney that looks to have sidelined him for a month, suggests that the source of attacking points at United is settled. Unless, of course, you’re committing to the slick trickery of Shinji Kagawa over Van Persie’s pure goal power.

City’s Carlos Tevez surely has another spot up front reserved for him and, while Fernando Torres is doing his upmost to cling to our affections, Eden Hazard’s irresistible form surely means that we have a preferred route to Chelsea’s flowing attacking points.

After just two weeks, a combination of Van Persie, Tevez and Hazard appears to give the very best coverage of potentially the three most potent teams in the league.

You can argue around this – Kagawa, Samir Nasri and Torres all offer the alternatives but, right now, while these words are typed, I’m struggling to see past this new holy trinity as the most powerful combination.

Throw in Michu, Steven Pienaar or Mauroanne Fellaini – perhaps dabble with Danny Graham up front while Swansea’s fixtures remain favourable, or even Emmanuel Adebayor to cover Tottenham’s attacking threat, and the template after Gameweek 2 begins to look solid.

As we discussed in the ScoutCast this week, there will be new names emerging that will threaten to break the ideas we have now but, in all honesty, it’s difficult to see Van Persie, Tevez and Hazard being anything other than season keepers; barring injury.

It can’t really be that simple and yet the twist of fate that saw Rooney first benched and then stretchered down the tunnel, almost rubber-stamped matters. There will surely be thousands scrambling for Van Perise, even more suitors for Hazard after another bout or returns from this evening’s victory. Meanwhile, Tevez has Liverpool in his sights tomorrow with a clear run of appearances while Sergio Aguero recuperates.

If you currently sit on all three, congratulations; please fight back the smugness. If you’ve none of the above, cling to the hope that there’s naivety in these words and that these power houses will falter. Either that, or scrub up for some serious squad surgery.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I'm freaking out. I'm normally such a calm FPL player! Terry missing today felt like the last straw.
Here's an honest question...would YOU wildcard if you had the following players in your squad...

VDV, Defoe, Ireland (all major rotation risks), Valencia, Terry, Torres, Gunter.

I just feel it will take at least 4 GWs worth of transfers to sort out the problems and after having my worst ever start I could easily fall further behind in points and team value if I waited that long.

Y/ N answers please, and thank you.

I think both will get game time and so could score plenty. If you're a fan of the early wildcard - I'm not - and were imagining playing it in GW4 then go for it.

I had a DISASTROUS start last season - 2 million after 4 weeks. I probably should have pulled the trigger but I still managed 30-something thousand.

I'd rather take a 4 or 8 point hit. VDV and Defoe should get some minutes against a Norwich side who are pretty bad defensively. I'd probably sell Terry and Ireland this week, maybe one of VDV/Defoe as well.

Valencia, Torres, Gunter are not doubts. Valencia will play and the other two just have blanks, so no transfers needed to sort them out.

VDV, Defoe, Ireland and Terry do require some work. But dont make the problem bigger than it is.

As much as the temptation is there to do it RCA, I think the points you could make up with using the WC later in a probable DGW would far outweigh the short term losses that are needed to fix your team...

Granted another few point hits won't look good short term, but you know as well as I do that this is a marathon and not a sprint...

    Hi All,

Just looking for some opinions on what to do with my team please….

    Team is linked.

Basically, the Rooney benching issue has really affected my score this week, and his subsequent injury means I have to transfer him out. That in turn means I have 3 chelsea and 1 reading not playing next week too.

I’m so tempted to wildcard and start from fresh, as what started out as good team on paper, is looking pretty cack in reality.

My first thoughts in terms of avoiding a wildcard is too dump mata and replace with kagawa, then dump rooney and get adebayor. In gw 4 I can then trade bale for hazard.

What would you guys do with my team as it stands, take the hit, or wildcard?

    Thanks for any repsonses.

Bringing in a player when they don't play the next gameweek is a terrible idea. Anything can happen between now and gwk 4. injuries, etc.

      You'll learn soon enough.

It's not terrible if he can still field a good 11, Hazzard will be going up in price, probably a few more times yet. Sometimes price can be more important later on.

bale to hazard is a ridiculous transfer to do now

firstly when people realize hazard hasn't got a game next week his appeal will cool down and he may even see some transfers out. He won't rise till next gw again

Bale may rise with the potential to face norwich at home and if he scores/assists he may rise again through int break due to spurs fixtures

    Predict Saturday Scores - Results

Yesterday I asked people to predict the scores of today's 7 games (I excluded the SUN-RDG predictions because it was canceled!) People were scored by adding up how many goals off they were for each individual team's score. Obviously lowest goals off won!

    Here's the results:

    Player.........................Goals off
    ADAM.........................10
    SOM3AWY..................11
    PINTURICCHIO.............12
    ISACKI.........................12
    FIFA LAS VEGAS.........12

    DJERBIL......................15

    Dilemma!

I currently have Ivanovic and Torres, who I am keeping on the bench for the next game. I have already made a transfer of N'Zogbia to Ben Arfa, which I think was wise given the subsequent price drops and rises that are taking place tonight.

Anyway, my dilemma is that I now have Noble (FUL), Demel (FUL), Hangeland (whu) and Fabio (mcy)

    http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/6623/teamqg.jpg

I have to play 3 out of those 4. Don't think there's much value in playing Fabio so that leaves the other three, who I won't be able to get points from unless a miracle happens.

Should I take a 4 point hit to switch Fabio in order to get a better 'spread' across the other games?

ba/cisse is a strange one at the minute

ba looks to be playing up front with cisse and getting more chances and cisse isn't as influential.

Pardew may revert back to last season tactics though in next few weeks with ba further back and cisse up front on his own. I'd hold off personally till this happens.

        Ivanovic, McCartney, Fabio, Walker, Stam

        Dyer, Bale, Pienaar, Kagawa, Noble

        RVP, Torres, Petric

1 FT, 0.5m in the bank.....

        Thinking either

        a) Torres to Tevez
        b) Torres to Adebayor, but would then have double Spurs attacking coverage?
