Has a stitched Wayne Rooney made things simple? Have we already got the template attacking lineup? Certainly Robin Van Persie’s goal, coupled with the injury to Rooney that looks to have sidelined him for a month, suggests that the source of attacking points at United is settled. Unless, of course, you’re committing to the slick trickery of Shinji Kagawa over Van Persie’s pure goal power.

City’s Carlos Tevez surely has another spot up front reserved for him and, while Fernando Torres is doing his upmost to cling to our affections, Eden Hazard’s irresistible form surely means that we have a preferred route to Chelsea’s flowing attacking points.

After just two weeks, a combination of Van Persie, Tevez and Hazard appears to give the very best coverage of potentially the three most potent teams in the league.

You can argue around this – Kagawa, Samir Nasri and Torres all offer the alternatives but, right now, while these words are typed, I’m struggling to see past this new holy trinity as the most powerful combination.

Throw in Michu, Steven Pienaar or Mauroanne Fellaini – perhaps dabble with Danny Graham up front while Swansea’s fixtures remain favourable, or even Emmanuel Adebayor to cover Tottenham’s attacking threat, and the template after Gameweek 2 begins to look solid.

As we discussed in the ScoutCast this week, there will be new names emerging that will threaten to break the ideas we have now but, in all honesty, it’s difficult to see Van Persie, Tevez and Hazard being anything other than season keepers; barring injury.

It can’t really be that simple and yet the twist of fate that saw Rooney first benched and then stretchered down the tunnel, almost rubber-stamped matters. There will surely be thousands scrambling for Van Perise, even more suitors for Hazard after another bout or returns from this evening’s victory. Meanwhile, Tevez has Liverpool in his sights tomorrow with a clear run of appearances while Sergio Aguero recuperates.

If you currently sit on all three, congratulations; please fight back the smugness. If you’ve none of the above, cling to the hope that there’s naivety in these words and that these power houses will falter. Either that, or scrub up for some serious squad surgery.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Hey guys,

    Vorm, Federici

    Ivanovic, McCartney, Fabio, Walker, Stam

    Dyer, Bale, Pienaar, Kagawa, Noble

    RVP, Torres, Petric

    1 FT, 0.5m in the bank…..

    Thinking either

    a) Torres to Tevez
    b) Torres to Adebayor,

but would then have double Spurs attacking coverage

    c) Any other suggestions?

    Cheers chaps

Then save your transfer and do 2 next week. I disagree, no need to bring i someone without a fixture. This game is about points, not value.

But accumulating value in first part of season gives you freedom to buy points as season goes on and avoiding doing something just because "it's bandwagon" can leave one way adrift it that bandwagon was legit. People were naysaying the early purchasers of RVP last year because, "Just wait, it's a flash, he always gets hurt" Different philosophies for different people, but legitimate arguments on each side.

I get your points, but when someone have a blank GW I don't see the piont in wasting a transfer for .1 or .2. Remember you get what you give. So, if you buy Hazard at 10 you will get 10 back if he gets injured and you have to sell him again at some point.

Actually not. If you buy at 9 and sell when the value is 10, you get back 9.5. You get back half of the difference between the purchase value and the sale value. Buy Michu at 6.5 and sell him midseason when his value hits 8.9 and you get 7.7. Free 1.2 million in salary to spend elsewhere.

That was my point. So if you buy him later you will get "more" money back.

No, because your purchase price will have been higher.
                    Example
Purchase at 8.0. Sell when hits 10.0. You get 9.0 = 1.0 profit
Purchase at 9.0. Sell when hits 10.0. You get 9.5, but only 0.5 profit

    Michu, Kagawa, Hazard, Kacaniklic, (Guthrie)
    Tevez, RVP, Torres

    REPOST (blow me)

    GW3

    DDG(sot)
    Zaba(QPR) Rangel(SUN) Demel(FUL)
    Bale(NOR) Michu(SUN) Noble(FUL) Maloney(STO)
    RVP(sot) Tevez(QPR) Petric(whm)

Subs: Clyne(MUN) N/A: Federici, Ivanovic, Mata

    ^^^^^^^^^^
I think my team looks pretty decent for GW3 as is. I’m just wondering if I could get away with Mata to Hazard tonight? I reckon he’ll rise quite a bit until GW4 and I want him in for then. May as well take a gamble now? I have considered Kagawa, Cazorla, Fellaini etc but… but…. Hazard! 😳

Evening all, could do with some advice here!

Not doing too badly for points, but my team's a mess! Trying to avoid WC playing.

    De Gea (Federici)
    Zabaleta Hangeland Alcaraz Cuellar (Ivanovic)
    Bale Michu Taarabt N'Zog Maloney
    Petric (Torres, Rooney)

That's what I can currently play, 1.4M in the bank.

Taarabt and Rooney to HBA and Tevez (-4)?
    Any suggestions welcome. Cheers.

Personally yes. He was awesome v Spurs and still looked a threat when he got the ball today.

Against that Villa defence I really think he could run wild.

Also he's suspended in Europe so no chance he'll play Thursday.

surely there is a better transfer you can make to improve your team?

Too much knee jerking going on here, people playing wildcards and transferring in players who are not even playing because they are scared of price rises.

      My advise is WAIT

Wait to see what happens, give it time. Chelsea play next in the PL in 3 weeks. 3 bloody weeks. Hazard has a supercup and internationals to play, he may get injured or he may get ill.

Do it. The more people buy him now, the fewer people will be able to afford him in gw4. Makes him that bit more of a differential.

That what Mark has done. Hazard in for Mata. He'll be short of players next week.

he will go up the full amount this week - everyone is buying him asap to get in before the price rises.. which makes the price rise...

it's not the way to play the game, you play it based on putting the best team possible for the next gw

people are basically basing their whole team around one player. They will regret it but who cares because they are obviously don't want to listen.

Haha not the way to play the game? You made the rules did you? If you're only looking one gameweek ahead I feel sorry for you.

People can play it any way they damn well please, thats half the fun.

And for my money Hazard will rise like crazy so better to get in there early. Think of all the tens of thousands that play the game barely even aware you can have empty gameweeks. They see Hazard splashed all over the headlines and try out this transferring lark when their interest in the game is still held.

I can't tell you how many friends I have that create their team each season, maintain it for a month or so then just lose interest.

Add that to all the tactical players looking to get in on Hazard early despite the empty week and you've got a whole lotta NTI...

Posted this earlier, someone suggested i downgrade kags or ade, trouble is if one of those go I have no coverage from that team.

Is the following front 8 too much. I usually prefer having one cheapy so I know who to bench, but I can’t decide who to do without!

    Pienaar, kags, hazard, michu, HBA
    Tevez, Torres, Ade

I guess he is the most popular pricey defender that people transfer in atm.
Took him in for Terry for a hit for GW2 already.

I had Aguero last week, he got injured, then I got Rooney in as a replacement. Now he's gone.

FYI guys, I'm getting RVP as a replacement, so he'll probably get injured next week too!

Not sure what the hell to do this week looking for some ideas off ye gents

    Could do
    Cole -> Williams
    Cole & Dembele -> Williams & Yaya -4
    Cole & Larsson -> Williams & Kagawa -4

I'm sure there's better transfer options out there but im drunk, waht say ye good sers??

TotalFPL has marked him as 0% because you can't rise 0.3 times in a GW. However this is the new GW so he can rise at 3am now.

Cheers. You think it's worth doing Rooney and Taarabt to HBA and Tevez now??

HBA looks certain to rise, Taarabt could fall, Tevez could rise, that's quite a lot of value to lose.

Or play safe considering I'm jinxing strikers with Aguero last week and Rooney this week!

From observing it the last couple of nights, I'd say HBA is certain to rise, Taarabt won't fall and Tevez won't rise

The odds of Tevez being injured in this one game are slim but non-finite. You'd lose 0.1 value on Barfa but maybe it's better than the worst happening.

I think the 0% on Total FPL is a hangup because he went up 0.3 in the week so they were showing his chances of rising again as 0% and they've not corrected it. Doing the same thing with Michu. So go with FISO on that one.
