Sunday Dugout Discussion – Gameweek 6

After Saturday’s feast of action, we’ve just a paltry single encounter to pour over today. However, it’s a feisty Black Country derby between Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion. The Dugout Discussion is open, and the team news from Villa Park is in, and is as follows…

Aston Villa XI: Guzan, Lowton, Vlaar, Clark, Bennett, El Ahmadi, Delph, Albrighton, Holman, Agbonlahor, Benteke.

West Brom XI: Foster, Jones, McAuley, Olsson, Popov, Mulumbu, Yacob, Gera, Morrison, Brunt, Long.

Darren Bent is the surprise omission from Paul Lambert’s side, with the England striker relegated to the bench. Albion’s Macedonian defender Goran Popov gets his first league start, and Chris Brunt and Shane Long are back in the side after missing the midweek Capital One Cup tie.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is the place to follow all the drama, and it can be accessed right here.

Amazing (though I do wonder what they make out of him...). Funny because players were moving to Spain because of their favourable tax laws a couple of years ago. How things change.

This 'gold course' is bloody ridiculous. Bubba hits yet another sliced shot straight into the trees and it lands on ground more forgiving than most Links courses fairways. Always good seeing poor accuracy off the tee being punished 🙄

What's this "don't shoot the messenger" crap? Everyone watching the game saw him hobbling. Clearly struggling yes, as for being injured nobody knows at this point. If it wasn't so close to the end there would have been time for us to see if he could run it off or not.

Probably the worst time the ask this question as nobody knows the extent of all these 'injuries'.

Popov VS Ridgewell will remain a mystery until they are both fit.

An article comparing the best budget midfield picks would be great

    Sterling
    Guthrie
    Puncheon
    Kac

All were benched bar Sterling this week. He seems the safest and most talented.

there is a lot to be said for that. last thing you want is too bench say a Lambert and see him score 13pts and Sterling get 2. at least with Guthrie you never have that problem

The one time I played Guthrie was GW1. While he scored, Michu scored an awful lot more on my bench.

true. but sterling looks good for an assist so far and thats about all.
Kac/puncheon will get bigger scores if they can nail down a place.
