Next up in this week’s series of articles focusing on goal threat are the forwards. Having analysed the midfielders yesterday, we turn our attentions to the men up front. First, we take a look at the potential hinted at by our very own ICT Index before digging deeper into the Opta statistics, highlighting a variety of crucial attacking indicators from the top 20 forwards in terms of goal attempts over the first seven Gameweeks of the new season…
ok
A get cazorla in with midfieldersive alredy got [Bale,Haz,Mata, gerv nd,ramirez
b get kone in for carroll got jellyvic n ba
c keepp free transferOpen ControlsGetting Cazorla in for Haz is a good plan.
Anyone know how long Ramirez is out for? You may want to address that.
And Carrol.Open Controls
I am trying to keep my FT for the next GW, but
with a defense of
Baines, Gibbs, Hughes, Demel, and Clyne,
do I need to use it to bring in another defender?Open Controls0.3
Open Controls
There is nothing wrong with that D. Save your transfer. I for one have to start Gallas at home to Chelsea so I am also tempted to get another defender in. At the end of the day defenders don't get you much though. Its better to save it for a more important transfer.
Open ControlsSometimes a 0 is better than a negative.
Open Controls
Certainly not yet. Demel is on the bench for his country, so may well be fit for Southampton in case Gibbs doesn't make it back.
Worst case scenario you field Baines (qpr), Hughes (AVL) and Clyne (WHM).
Not too bad.Open ControlsAnother reason I would hesitate is injuries in international matches may still require transfers elsewhere.
Open Controls
Could I save FT with this mess?
Bale Santi Peanut Fellaini Guthrie
RVP Tevez Lambert
I was thinking to ditch Guthrie --> Sterling or Faillani --> Nolan but I'm not sure about it.Open ControlsI like Guthrie to Sterling personally. Guess you can't afford HBA for Fella?
Open ControlsI can, i have 1 FT, 1,1M bank. Sterling is better than Guthrie but you'll rarely play him
Open ControlsI'd get HBA in for their decent run of fixtures, unless you want the funds for elsewhere. You're right Sterling can wait. Though... If he's ever going to score, at home to Reading would be a good bet.
Open Controls
Reassess after international break is completed.
Open Controls
Hi
Open ControlsOnly want one more Stoke player Walters or Wilson?? (Have Bego)
Also could go Morrison over Walters?Open Controlsfor these games, saylor is better right?
saylor : liv, SWA, WIG, ful
cueller: AVL, ful, nor, CHEOpen Controls50-50 really. Newcastle's defence is a bit shattered atm. Could go either way.
Open Controls
I like the look of giroud for the next 2. Already have a good squad though so it would mean benching pienaar then fletcher
giroud (nor,QPR) -4pts vs pienaar (qpr) fletcher (sto) ?Open ControlsMuch of a muchness, I reckon Pienaar will get points (say 5) against QPR and fletcher won't against stoke (2). Giroud will need to score in both to make a profit (6 + 6 - 4 point hit). But he's entirely capable of doing just that, plus bonus points... it's a gamble but could pay off.
Open ControlsTa mate I agree could go either way. Probably smart to stick but can't shake the feeling giroud will go nuts
Open Controls
Worth -4 pts hit for Lambert > Berb or Fellaini > Pienaar?
Bale - Santi - Hazard - Fellaini (inj) - Sterling
RvP - Ba - LambertOpen ControlsHave you already made your transfer this week? Either way, I'd probably save the transfer (or take no hits) and start Sterling (REA), as Fellaini is likely to be back for GW9.
Open Controls
Best option?
a) GW8 save, GW9 Michu & Suarez -> Santi & Berba
b) GW8 save, GW9 Guthrie & RVP -> Santi & Berba/Ba
c) GW8 Tevez -> Berba, GW9 Michu -> Santi
d) GW8 Tevez & Barfa -> Santi & Berba (4 point hit), GW9 Michu & Suarez -> Mata & Ba (4 point hit)
e) Something else
Jaask, Federici
Baines, Cuellar, Hughes, McCartney, Clyne
Bale, Barfa, Michu, Pienaar, Guthrie
RVP, Tevez, Suarez
Bank 0.5m, 1 freebie, WC availableOpen Controlsif anyone asks, i wasn't here and you didn't see me. OK?
Open ControlsBest mid for 7.3mil and unde besides Michu and Pineaar??
Open ControlsNolan (GW8 SAINTS, GW9 Wigan), then Morrison (GW10 SAINTS, GW11 Wigan)
Open ControlsMIchu > Morrison
Taylor.S > WiIson
??? (2 frees)
thanksOpen Controlsthis week? Nope
Saylor should be fit this week, keep him for good fixtures coming up, or wait next week cos Wilson has MANU, no point to take him in atm.
you have a good team this week but got 2 FT, Hmm not sure where to use 1 transfer, maybe you should downgrade elsewhere to get one more big hitter in midfieldOpen Controlsim going to light up your day
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpZhZAr1cQU&feature=relatedOpen ControlsNOOO, I hate it most. Most overrated MV, wth it's so famous?? I'd rather watch Justin Gay Bieber than that shjt.
Open Controls
you have RVP & Aguero, so hard to find money to go with 2 big hitters at midfield, maybe stick with your strategy. Transfer this week could be Demel to 3,9-4M defender who rotates well with Nelsen and Saylor.
Open ControlsWhat about HBA to Morrison and MIchu to Mata??
Open Controls
walters, lennon, nolan, lallana, dyer, mcclean?, sahin?, sterling?,
Open Controls
what mids 9.1 or less are worth looking at?
I already have bale, cazorla, hba and pienaarOpen ControlsWanting SToke D after this week, Wilk 4,4 or Wilson/Cameron 4.5, or is it worth trying to get 5.0 for Shawx
Open ControlsNot worth the extra cash if they play the same time.
Open Controlsif that slot is 3rd defender (you'll play regularly everyweek) then ShawX is worth money for goal threat, if that slot is one of 3 cheap defenders to rotate, i think you just get Wilson and save money
Open ControlsI'd rather Huth but that 1 mil can be used elsewhere. He should do well until the next WC.
Open Controls
if you were picking one manchester mid (either mun or mci) besides silva (can't afford him), who would it be?
Open ControlsYaya probably until a MU mid was playing well.
Open ControlsI'm kinda hoping Kagawa steps up soon - he's pencilled in for me in GW11...
Open ControlsSAF is playing diamond midfield, no place for Valencia there. He'll be rotated
Open Controlsright! i keep forgetting....
think he'll stick with the diamond though? and if he does shouldn't that mean kags is a decent bet at the top of the diamond?Open ControlsRooney at the top of the diamond, Kagawa on the right side. Fergie wont stick with only 1 strategy you know him 🙂
Open Controlsnot sure what's going on... comments aren't going through :(.
so its rvp and one of welbeck/hernandez up top? and who's left in the diamond then?
very true. *sigh* it seems like fergie (and mancini for that matter) are trying to screw with us fpl managers....Open Controls
i think i have the correct lineup for next gameweek. the only ones i'm thinking about is foster vs begovic, and wondering if i should make room for davies, although swansea have been leaking goals, and wigan can always score.
foster
baines, ivanovic, rafael
cazorla, bale, mata, pienaar
aguero, ba, berbatov
bench: begovic, sterling, davies, demelOpen Controlsbeen busy last few days... whats new in the fantasy world???
Open Controlsbeen several discussions on whether its worth keeping rvp or if you're better off shipping him
discussions on michu replacements for next week
bale vs silva discussions
that's been the main important stuff off the top of my head besides rmt's and other questions about which player is better, etcOpen Controls
How many points you guys all spent so far this season . Everyone seems be making so many more transfers this season or am i imagining it?
Havent taken a single four pointer yet this season (but have wildcarded)Open ControlsA.) Taylor.S > Wilson, HBA > Morrison, MIchu > Mata
or
B.) Taylor.S > Wilson, Michu > Morrison, Demel > Sagna/Mert
cheersOpen ControlsI dont get it. Why get rid of saylor or hba before their good run of fixtures?
Open Controlsmadness... utter madness both of em. HBA and Saylor got gr8 fixtures and michu will do well this week. Wilson got manu away, morrison got city @ home and mata got tough fixtures! why?
Open Controls
hazard to bale...
yay or nay?Open ControlsDo people think my mid needs another big hitter??
Santi, Barfa, Pienaar, Michu, SterlingOpen ControlsI think you need to stop asking questions and step away from the computer, Baulchy...
You are the most thorough person in the history of FPL... I have never met anyone who requires the opinion of every single person before making any moves...
Seriously, how many opinions do you need? And also, how many ways can you ask the same question, over and over? I'm just curious... can you answer THIS question?
Hope your having a good day in Guam....Open Controls
have dempsey in the side. not many returns yet, but i'm thinking that if ade begins to get starts, dempsey will be the main beneficiary, playing the same sort of role VDV did last season at times, but with a history of better returns in the same position.
have demps, hazard and tevez, 0.4 in bank and 2 free transfers this week. thinking about holding, but don't want to lose the FT this week so that i can do a double next.
team is:
jaask (bego)
baines/demel/jenks (mcauley/fonte)
hazard/demps/santi/dyer/pienaar
ba/jelly (tevez)
for this week considering:
a) hazard > mata/oscar
b) tevez > berba
c) demps > silva
what to do with these three? next week i want to upgrade dyer as part of the double move, so need to make some money out of tevez out or demps/hazard out.
thoughts? with the whole demps/ade discussion above, might i hold onto captain america?Open ControlsSlow times, ah....30 minutes b/w comments
Hold on to Dempsey, he looks like he will be come good. None of these moves look like priority, Jenks has to go soon, with the impending return of Sagna.Open Controlsthanks pratik. thinking the same, just feel guilty wasting an FT.
Open Controls
pratik, did you see the emails (2 i believe) i sent you?
Open ControlsCheck your mail in an hour. You'll be slightly disappointed.
