Next up in this week’s series of articles focusing on goal threat are the forwards. Having analysed the midfielders yesterday, we turn our attentions to the men up front. First, we take a look at the potential hinted at by our very own ICT Index before digging deeper into the Opta statistics, highlighting a variety of crucial attacking indicators from the top 20 forwards in terms of goal attempts over the first seven Gameweeks of the new season…
do people think that matthew taylor (west ham) should be a good punt for gw8, with vaz te out for 8weeks?
Open ControlsI guess it will be him or Jarvis (maybe even Maiga) getting more game time, but the thing is, their fixtures during that period leave a lot to be desired, so I personally wouldn't go there...
Open Controlsonly for 2 weeks at most if ur really into West Ham atm, i would transfer out for Morrison after that (GW10)
Open Controls
what are Suarez owners doing with him after Reading?
Open ControlsHi guys, i drop in on the site a lot since the Euros where i began joining in on fantasy football. Im now doing my first FPL season. I am top of work based mini league.. just. I am currently 4th in a bigger league where the stakes are higher. Wild card is played (too early, in hindsight) but this is what im working with..
Jussi // Bego
Hughes // Rangel // Jenkinson // Clyne // Demel
Gervhino // Bale // Pienaar // Hazard // Guthrie
Tevez // RVP // Ba
My thoughts are this week - Tevez > Suarez or Jelavic and Hazard > Cazorla for -4pt
Following gameweek i could get rid of RVP and upgrade defense a bit and lose Gervhino for B Arfa maybe.
Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated.Open ControlsHaz > Caz only, imho. Tevez wil defo start GW8.
keep RVP, fixtures ahead (GW11 onwards) look tasty.Open ControlsBob ... I would hold tight and keep your transfer for this week. Tevez is a sure starter against West Brom and is likely to pick up some points, Whilst Hazard > Cazorla is a sideways move with little to be gained, aside from Cazorla's fixtures are better for a month. Wait this week and then have 2 FTs for next GW.
Open ControlsThanks for your response guys. Maybe i am just chasing points in the short term, looking at Ars, Eve and Liv Fixtures. Im thinking Arsenal will score more goals at Norwich than Chelsea at Spurs.. So Cazorla should have a higher chance of getting more points than Hazard. I like the idea of 2 FT's next GW tho.
Open ControlsFor a 4-point hit you need Cazorla to score a goal and Hazard do nothing. Chelsea have been quite dominant over all opponents this year, and Spurs have been leaky at the back. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Chelsea put 2 or 3 up against them! But ... I agree with the fact that Arsenal have delicious upcoming fixtures and Cazorla will be in the thick of it!
Open ControlsSuppose i could do Bale > Cazorla. Keeping Hazard and Tevez this week. Would be reluctant as Bale could step up after confidence from International duties and playing in a big game agaisnt Chelsea.
Open ControlsBale always performs against chelsea, andSpurs fixtures are pretty good coming up really. Selling Bale now would be madness. Forget that one!!
Selling Bale or selling Hazard. Bye Hazard.Open ControlsSome good points here, thanks guys. At least i got a bit of time so dont need to rush the decision.

Is anyone here who currently owns Rafael worried about Smalling returning and any threat of rotation that may bring?
Open ControlsId like to get Raf in as much as it pains me, but it would only be after shipping out RVP AND would be in faith that ol Baconface has decided that Rafael is his number one rb. Im not sure about either of those things so needless to say, unless i get drunk, I wont be getting Rafael. If I had him...id keep until he's dropped then he would be out the door. Cant see smalling starting over him at this point though to be fair. Rafael gives them width when they play with the diamond.
Open ControlsI'm not. I think Smalling will be required on the bench as backup for Jones/Rio. This is more pronounced as Rio is a ticking time bomb for an injury. He's also been playing well, so I can't see him being dropped.
Open ControlsSmalling will provide cover at CB. Fergie will not tinker with rafael this season. Only jones is a contender or an injury to rafael to play smalling at RB. And jones is some time away. Rafael is a good option.
Open Controls
Michu-->Nolan
or
Michu--> Morrison
(Come GW9)Open Controls50-50 methinks ... i have Morrison and have been quite content with his performances so far. He and Nolan are quite similar in return and potential, given their fixtures.
Open Controls
Hey all, first post. Woo
Question:
Al-Habsi
Ashley Williams, Jenks, Hangelaand
Hazard Michu, Yaya Kagawa
Kun Torres Fletcher
Subs: Begovic, Reid, Clyne, Duff
Do I take a -4 hit and transfer Kagawa and Duff out for Routledge and Cazorla?
I feel Cazorla might be big this week against Norwich.
Any other recommendations more than welcome. I don't have my WCOpen ControlsYou may laugh but I would start Duff over Torres. I have Spurs beating Chelsea and although people say there will be lots of goals, I see a 2-0 Spurs. Watch this space.
Don't take a hit, either keep your starting eleven as it is (fixtures look favourable for you), and/or do Duff in for Torres (home v Villa and with Berba probably back it's non stop feed the Berbs against a shite Villa team on the road!!!).
I hate Torres by the way. Useless mug has done NOTHING and i mean NOTHING for me the past two seasons during his in and out time in my team....usually at captain!!!
Save your free and have 2 fts next time, and upgrade Yaya to Santi or Silva, and get Torres out for Berba or Ba. Sorted.Open ControlsIn fact here is what I would do if I had your team.
Nothing this week.......but next week........
Yaya to Silva
Torres to Ba/Berba
Kagawa to SantiOpen Controlsagree with Ya and Kag
Only a matter of time b4 Torres gets a brace+ imo keepOpen Controlsunless he/she has money in the bank those two would be impossible, so he would need to downgrade Torres or someone else, and with THAT defence I don't see much else to do.
Pretty shocking defence to be fair.Open Controls
but since ur pretty sure chelsea will not score....why advice him to keep Torres???
Open ControlsThanks guys,
lots of food for thought. I'll be honest my defence is shocking because I only had one 'big hitter' in Lescott and given City's proclivity for shipping goals at the start of the season I said screw it and save money for midfield and up front.
You guys (Stupendous in particular) reckon it's worth foregoing Cazorla's likely rampage against Norwich? And secondly, you'd hold on to Duff mid- long-term vs someone like Routledge who'd let me get rid of Yaya or Kagawa for someone like Bale or Santi?
Cheers for the responses! I've been waiting too long to do this it seems!Open Controls

Thats it.. I've decided I'm gonna sell RVP for Berba and get Cazorla in for Sterling this week.. Would want RVP back after 4 GW's.. But will have no idea how..
Short term plans FTW 😉Open ControlsIt might be the most irritating decision I will have to make in my entire life. Keep or sell RVP. It's been non stop sell/keep RVP on here all week. Problem is, if we all sell him, he'll score a brace or hat trick and 3baps v Stoke, and if we keep him and captain him, he'll either play 55/60mins and not do anything, or play 90mins and get an assist.
Just not a nice situation to be in. He's just worth far too much money it's that simple. Entire teams built around him and now we don't know what to do with him. Just look at two of the people involved in the transfers you have just mentioned................RVP 13.4m and Sterling 4.8m......incredible.Open ControlsObviously not married yet 🙂
Open ControlsIf ever there was a time for RVP to score a hat trick it would be this weekend...it's so essential.
He scored 2 against Stoke in a 20 minute cameo last year so the signs are good.
Selling RVP for an injured Berba when they both have decent home games wouldn't be my cup of tea. Good luck though!Open Controls
RVP –> Giroud(c) 😉
Open ControlsDon't tempt me! 😯
How's the WC shaping up?Open ControlsHe's my differential pick this week 😉
After last week's prediction you should be tempted.
I'm thinking something like:
Foster – Bego
Baines – Rafa – Sagna(or a fillin till he's back) – 8.8m
Santi – Bale – Pienaar – Llama – Sterling
RVP – Ba – BerbaOpen ControlsDamn you and your Kolarov prediction! 😡
Cracking team. Not worried by lack of Citeh?Open Controls
Hey guys... just a quick question, what are people's thuoghts on Demel v Cuellar for the coming GW? Leaning towards Demel as I have HBA v Cuellar otherwise, however does Sun have a better chance of the clean sheet?
Thanks for your thoughts.Open ControlsIf he's fit I would definitely go with Demel over Cuellar, I would expect Newcastle to put a couple past Sundaerland. Problem is that Demel has been out with an injury and was an unused sub on the bench for Ivory Coast ... which doesn't clarify anything for his owners.
Open Controls
Does FFS have a sky league as it doesn't seem too popular on here, though the writers ref. it many times in the articles?
Open ControlsPick a Spanish EPL FPL team and an African EPL FPL team and what's the score of the match, who gets more points throughout the season............yea im bored as all hell............
Reina
Rangel Chico Cuellar Enrique(back soon i think)
Silva Mata Cazorla Michu Arteta
Torres
gk(?)
Demel Bassong BAE
Diame Yaya Gervinho Tiote
Ba Cisse Maiga
YEA REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLY BORED!!!Open ControlsWorth doing Tevez->Berba for a hit?
Tevez up against WBA who have been really solid at home conceding only 2 in 4 games. Already have Toure for Man City cover for their decent run of upcoming fixtures.
Berba up against Villa who have been terrible away. Fulham's fixtures after that also look good.Open ControlsWouldn't do the hit imo. Tevez has as much as Berb for scoring well this week.

plz rate my team
bego krul
rafeal verm baines. demel, mcauley
michu yaya sterling gervinho. fellani
rvp crouch defoe
who do u think I shld captain?Open ControlsGervinho. But not sure because giroud could play ahead him. But if Gervinho play he has really easy fixtures this week. RVP is also other choice. While Crouch could be because Man Utd is a bit weak in air ball. Don't forget Michu and Yaya too. But the strongest choice is RVP or Gervinho
Open ControlsYou've had a fairly decent start however I would have some concerns with this team
very weak in MF, I have Michu and am keeping but if I had Yaya I would look to upgrade. same could be said of Gervinho, although you may have just had a bit of luck with Walcott possibly being injured
Crouch is nice to have and hope he works for you, however I see AVB giving ADE a chance soon so Defoe may be a concern in the not too distant futureOpen ControlsTo answer the second question, out of those players I would go RVP for sure
Open Controls
Inspired by Berbilly's team...
What do you prefer?
Michu & Lambert OR Lallana & Berbatov...
Both give me decent Soton coverage and the main man from their respective teams... right now I prefer the one I don't have... 🙁Open ControlsI have the first and would prefer it as well..
Saying that I am getting Berba in for Suarez after this GW which is confusing my mind....
hmmm tough question.... Ok I slightly prefer the second as I think berba will be a bargainOpen ControlsYeah there is no way I can have him for AVL rdg without a hit, so I have to judge him on the next six after that... and I really can't see me wanting him now until GW15...
Think I'll reluctantly stick with what I have... and go Berbaless... 😕Open ControlsI've decided this week and next week I am taking a hit.
this week I have already done my FT early, Federici to Bego and I plan on doing Hazard to Silva for a 4 pointer (have a great feeling and will not be budged off)
next week I am doing Suarez to Berba and Guthrie to Walters (again have a great feeling)
I have decided not to be scared of doing a couple of hits here and there if you feel your team will look the better for it.. I actually regret not doing a couple more so far as would have more points if I went with my gut instead of being patientOpen ControlsI have taken two hits already these last few weeks to fix up my team whilst retaining my WC...
I can't justify taking any more now... I brought these players (Lambert and Ba) in for the long haul, I just have to hope now that they were the right ones...Open Controls
Ah, good to hear 🙂
What about the rest of the team?Open ControlsLallana is the one guy tempting me over Nolan...
Fellaini > Nolan/Lallana
That is the question...Open ControlsHis form reminds me of a certain David Silva early last year... 6,5,5 for 6m with those fixtures would be hard to pass up...
Open ControlsYeah I agree he looks on great form...
It's just the short term fixtures...
Nolan (SOT wig)
Lallana (whm TOT)
😯Open ControlsI actually fancy So'ton to score in both of those games, but I agree that West Ham's next two fixtures look better on paper...
Open ControlsI'm also thinking Nolan has scored 3 and if he scores again = BP's
Lallana hasn't scored yet...
I wish I was brave enough to go for players without the ideal fixtures on paper. It's easy to get blinded by SOT wig etc.Open Controls
I am between Santi and Suarez for Captain this week...
really can't decide, thoughts would be appreciated.
Santi is against Norwich but it is away and I have a feeling he will play really well but not score mcuh from a FPL perspective, bucktooth has reading at home and is pretty much guaranteed to be involved in any goals Pool may scoreOpen ControlsThe rat 9 times out of 10
Open ControlsI'm the anti-Suarez but even I have to prefer him. NOR and RDG are the only two games I ever cap'n him mind.
Open ControlsHa ... the "anti-Suarez" ... I get the feeling you might not be the only one there Jafa, could be a whole cult of sensible people out there loated to pick him in their team.
Open Controlsi agree and it's my last week with him so i am going to go for it.. even if he scores a hatrick he is gone
Open Controls
I think both are great choices, but probably Suarez for me since he has the home fixture and I can't see past a comfortable LIV win this week.
Open Controlsta
Open Controls
Remember Santi against Soton? I just don't think he's captain material, like Silva. On this basis I'll say Suarez(c).
Open Controlsthanks for reminding me.... I agree Suarez is more likely to get a double digit score
Open Controls
Kinda torn between these 2 moves - watcha reckon lads? If doing a) then I'd look to bring RVP back in GW11 for their kind run.
a) GW8 save, GW9 Guthrie & RVP -> Santi & Berba/Ba
b) GW8 save, GW9 Michu & Suarez -> Santi & Berba
Jaask, Fed
Baines, Cuellar, Hughes, McCarthey, Clyne
Bale, Barfa, Michu, Pienaar, Guthrie
RVP, Suarez, Tevez
Bank 0.5m, 1 freebie, WC availableOpen ControlsDefinitely B ... I wouldn't be touching RVP despite any red blotches on their fixture list. He can, and will, score against anyone at any time and you'd be losing money to get him back in later! Can you get Santi and Ba??
Open ControlsNah, only have 7.4m for the striker slot if I do Michu -> Santi, which only really leaves Berba. The problem with getting Berba in next week, is that his fixtures aren't really that great, whereas Ba's are. If doing a) then I'd lose RVP for che and ARS, which are unlikely to be huge hauls (although anything is possible).
Open ControlsYeah i see the logic ... but i still think he has every chance of scoring in those games, especially against Arsenal! It would also leave you with some extra cash to splash out on another upgrade later!
Open ControlsYeah, he's one of the few players who can score against anyone, although I'd like to think that Vermaelen and co will know his play inside out and can hopefully keep him fairly queit. What do you think about:
GW8: save
GW9: Michu & RVP -> Santi & Ba
GW10: save
GW11: Bale & Suarez -> Kagawa (or an 8.4m mide or below) & RVPOpen ControlsHonestly I wouldn't ... leave RVP in and save the 0.2 - 0.3 you'll get from selling and re-buying. There are too many variables for planning that far ahead, and I'd be a bit concerned about Kagawa, United's midfield is a mine-field at the moment. Berba would be the best bet of the cheaper forwards.
Open Controls
In case you weren't sure, B!
Would you be comfortable benching any of your players if you did A?Open Controls
Imagine if Berba gets 2 this week :'D
Open Controlsnah he wont.. He wouldn't do it to me... he will wait a week for me to get him in
Open Controls
A quick poll .. Can you place these players in order of who you think will score most points this GW?
1) Tevez
2) Suarez
3) JelavicOpen ControlsMorning all.
How's team looking for this GW?
Foster (Begovic)
Rafael, Baines, Cuellar (Davies, Clark)
Mata, Silva, Gervinho, Bale (Sterling)
Jelavic (C) Suvar-ez, Lambert.
Should i do Lambert> Berba.. for free? or save a free?Open ControlsSave. I can see a mass cull on the cards. Nice team...for this week.
Open ControlsI'm currently considering Lambert > Berba. I really want him and it's either that or transfer him in for RVP/Tevez and I see Lambert being the least dangerous player not to own.
Open Controls
2 freebies this week. Hazard and fellani > cazorla and who ? Got 8.8m in the bank.
Open ControlsWouldn't be surprised if Fellaini is fit you know! If not Pie looks good value, but with that amount of cash in the bank you could always get Silva/Bale too
Open ControlsBen Arfa or Pienar
Open ControlsThe only one near the price I can I can recommend would be Ben Arfa, but it depends on the rest of your team...
If not him then you should probably consider someone in the 6m bracket and save the money to upgrade somewhere else next week...
Short term option: Nolan...
Long term option: Walters, Morrison, Sterling...Open Controls
ok, this is my current team
jussi ruddy
ivanovic ridgewell harte clark clyne
hazard cazorla michu pienaar ramirez
rvp jelavic graham
at this int break i already have the plan transfer out graham -> berba
but i think i lack of liverpool and west ham covers for gw8
what should i do?
1. graham -> berba (free)
2. graham -> berba, hazard -> nolan (-4pts)
3. graham -> berba, hazard -> nolan, jelavic -> suarez (-8pts)
1FT and 1.2M
thanks in advanceOpen ControlsMorning DZers/early risers,
Nice to know that there haven't been any major injuries to players in the international break so far!
Regarding the RVP/Tevez > Berba move that's gathered a lot of momentum, I'm taking the easy way out! 2FTs: Hangeland > Hughes/Wilson & Lambert > Berba. Still can't decide if I want to hold onto Fulham defensive cover or double up on Stoke (already have Bego).Open ControlsI think a double on Stoke looks promosing. I'm trying to get a couple of Stokies in myself.
Open ControlsYeah, their clean sheet prospects look solid over the coming weeks. Only decision is whether it's better to spread my bets with one FUL and one STO defender or turn my back on Fulham and risk it for the biscuit.
Open Controls
Good plan - not the week to get rid of RVP/Tevez. Potential for both (or neither!) to remind us that we need them in our teams. I think short term Fulham look better, but if you can bench Wilson this week he may be the better option for GW9 onwards.
Open ControlsI am mainly thinking medium-term but that Stoke fixture makes Wilson unplayable next week, leaving me with Saylor (sun) to play. Would be relying on goal threat for points in that game.
Open ControlsI'd go Wilson, then. Villa may score at Fulham. Tyne/Wear normally unpredictable - could be tight, or could be a goal feast - but for the sake of a possible few points then you'd be set up for the next few weeks. Worth a gamble, I'd say.
Open Controls
Can u do Lambert>Berba in a straight swap or u need to downgrade one of ur player?
Open ControlsI'm 0.2m short and I don't see that changing before the deadline! The Hangeland > Wilson/Hughes move is purely to free funds.
You think it's wise? Not sure myself but I just know that if I don't get Berba now, I'll regret it.Open Controls
Let's shake things up a bit on this thread.
Name your current club's manager and who you'd want to replace him if he resigned tomorrow.
I'll start.
Arsene Wenger - Jurgen KloppOpen ControlsBrendan Rodgers – Pep Guardiola
Open ControlsRoberto Mancini - Per Gessle (Roxette)
Open ControlsSir Alex Ferguson - ....and I must also agree with Jurgen Klopp

Open ControlsInteresting. Can't argue with that to be honest
Open Controls
looking for a michu replacement up to 9.1 for next week as it will effect one of my transfers for this week
should i go for a big hitter (mata kags or yaya) or should I go for someone cheaper (lennon, walters nolan morrison lallana or ramirez if fit)?
current attackers are:
bale, cazorla, pienaar, hba
ba, berb, lambertOpen ControlsNolan or Morrison - good fixtures, good form and leaves cash in the bank for rainy days
Open ControlsYaya, imo.
Open ControlsHmmm, I'd be tempted by Mata.
Open Controlsif i had 8,8 i'd go for nolan.. if i had 8.9 - 9.5 i'd go for mata and above that silva.. so mata for me. you lucky sob.. wish i could afford him(sadly in category 1)
Open ControlsYou decided on berba then? Fletcher is bound to score against us!
Open Controlsabout 95% sure. recon he's got two nice fixtures to score well and after then he still might score well. and as someone said on here yesterday i think it was, berbs is the type of player that will make you regret not having him, fletcher: not so much
why do you think fletcher is bound to score on you though? and it'll probably just be 1 goal yes?
actually, just outta curiousity, what is your predicted score for the game?Open ControlsIt's probably just the toon fan in me. I like to have opposition strikers in my team as a comfort blanket in case they score against us! Thinking about it, I was only thinking of keeping fletcher for a week because otherwise it would cost a hit. If its a free transfer (that you would make next week anyway) you might as well bring berb in.
No idea how the game will go. One thing for sure is that it will be feisty. Both teams need a win to kick start their season. Let's hope it's an away win!Open Controls
whats the latest news on berbatov's injury?
Open ControlsMorisson just does'nt fill me with confidence.. sell him to me ppl. goin nolan atm
Open Controlsi gotta admit 13 shots, 14 key passes is above average
Open Controlsmost from outside the box though. nolan's got 23 shots and 8 key passes.. and most of his shots are from within the box. nice
Open Controls
I'm trying to chose between him and Lallana. Almost identical stats...It's too hard....
Open Controlsit's down to morrison form, lallana fixtures, nolan consistency(from season's past)

is it just me or do you guys think xavi would be a great manager after he retires?
