634x258 The Stock Check

Norwich go eight unbeaten, scoring twice for the first time since Gameweek 6, as the Black Cats leave Carrow Road empty handed. Here’s the Stock Check after Sunday’s events…

On the Up

Anthony Pilkington
Eight goals last season, Pilkington has now blinked on the radar this term having notched his second consecutive home strike after scoring the winner against United. The Norwich midfield has an array of options – notably Wes Hoolahan and Robert Snodgrass; Pilkington emerged as the most profitable option last term and is edging his way to that status now.

Sebastian Bassong
While the Norwich defence was breached for the first time in three home matches, Bassong still delivered for his owners, earning the Canaries opener for his second goal in three outings. Assured of his start in an improved Norwich defence, the former Spurs man has played second fiddle to the popular Javier Garrido but is 0.2 cheaper with a clear threat from set-plays.

Craig Gardner
Much like the Norwich midfield, there are options across Martin O’Neill’s side in this area with Gardner now perhaps emerging as the most potent option. Having struck eight Premier League goals with Birmingham in 2010/11, we know that Gardner can carry a goal threat when given the freedom to support the attack with his long-range shooting. Gardner could have bagged more goals today, denied by a fine Mark Bunn save in the second-half. At 4.9 in the FPL, Gardner offers budget coverage of Sunderland’s double Gameweek.

Going Down

Steven Fletcher
Undoubtedly Sunderland’s main goal threat after firing six goals this term, Martin O’Neill was forced to withdraw his leading scorer with an ankle knock. We await further news ahead of Sunderland’s two fixtures this Gameweek, with O’Neill stating that he is uncertain on the prognosis: further news is expected on Monday or Tuesday.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Hopefully my grav has worked (I bet it hasn't now -.-) Really don’t like the look of my team going into this gw, don’t even know who I can captain and I don’t know how to even use my transfer, maybe go boring and do Rafael>Shorey, however that would make my defense all below 5.0 which is very weak, someone help me 🙁

    Schwarzer(5.0)

    Rafael (6.0), Caulker (4.8), Cuellar(4.5), Nelsen(3.9)

    Walcott(8.7), Fellaini(7.3), Michu(7.0), Sterling(5.1)

    Van Persie(13.5), Berbatov(7.2).

    Subs: Begovic(4.8), B.Jones (4.4), Bale (9.7), Suarez (10.2)

    Jass (Beg)
    Garrido Enrique Huth Kompany Mertesacker
    Puncheon Michu Fellaini Sterling
    Tevez

If Tevez even starts…thoughts what to do with 0 FT and 0 in the bank? Stupidly jumped gun last night and did Benteke to Fletcher for DGW…as this is my secondary team (primary is in telegraoh game). Thoughts?

    Ridgewell

Does anyone really think he wipes his arse on crispy banknotes? Anyone who has ever been stranded with no proper arse wipe would know you wouldn't. His biggest crime is being a nob with no common sense, poor judgement, too much money and the wrong mates. Which is pretty much most of them.

'Vilest footballer in Britain'? Do me a favour... 🙄

Totally agree! If he is being called wrongful names for doing that, then people need to take a look at THEMSELVES, or indeed read the story properly. It was just a stupid act and he should have known better.

at best, an unfunny private joke.

at least Ridgewell earned the money with his talent on the pitch.

unlike his so-called mate who sold the photo to the tabloids for some quick cash.

Isn't Defoe still a little risky? AVB seems to have a man-crush on Ade, or is he likely to play 4-4-2 when he's back?
