634x258 The Stock Check

Norwich go eight unbeaten, scoring twice for the first time since Gameweek 6, as the Black Cats leave Carrow Road empty handed. Here’s the Stock Check after Sunday’s events…

On the Up

Anthony Pilkington
Eight goals last season, Pilkington has now blinked on the radar this term having notched his second consecutive home strike after scoring the winner against United. The Norwich midfield has an array of options – notably Wes Hoolahan and Robert Snodgrass; Pilkington emerged as the most profitable option last term and is edging his way to that status now.

Sebastian Bassong
While the Norwich defence was breached for the first time in three home matches, Bassong still delivered for his owners, earning the Canaries opener for his second goal in three outings. Assured of his start in an improved Norwich defence, the former Spurs man has played second fiddle to the popular Javier Garrido but is 0.2 cheaper with a clear threat from set-plays.

Craig Gardner
Much like the Norwich midfield, there are options across Martin O’Neill’s side in this area with Gardner now perhaps emerging as the most potent option. Having struck eight Premier League goals with Birmingham in 2010/11, we know that Gardner can carry a goal threat when given the freedom to support the attack with his long-range shooting. Gardner could have bagged more goals today, denied by a fine Mark Bunn save in the second-half. At 4.9 in the FPL, Gardner offers budget coverage of Sunderland’s double Gameweek.

Going Down

Steven Fletcher
Undoubtedly Sunderland’s main goal threat after firing six goals this term, Martin O’Neill was forced to withdraw his leading scorer with an ankle knock. We await further news ahead of Sunderland’s two fixtures this Gameweek, with O’Neill stating that he is uncertain on the prognosis: further news is expected on Monday or Tuesday.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

For those who were waiting for West Ham's tough run of fixtures to end, to bring in Nolan i.e. MCI, new, STO, tot, mnu, CHE, LIV, wba, EVE, ars.
Is it safe to say that the tough run is now over as ars (a) and wba (a) aren't the tough fixtures we once thought they were?

Even by the incredible standards Luis Suarez has set for stupidity, taking his fifth yellow card in that fashion is pretty impressive. What a NOOB!

In Uruguay, they sometimes allow handballs into the net. He didn't know that they don't allow that in England.

A cultural misunderstanding, is all. When will they stop punishing Luis for being foreign?

Keeping Giroud for next 4 weeks or so... Arsenal need to bounce back anyways and i guess he will be on scoresheet.

I am having 3 stoke defenders from almost 8-9 gws... One has to go for sure now... But 3 stoke defenders have really helped me to get some points when midfield failed terribly for me..

DOnt know what to do with santi.. might keep him for this gameweek and then change to Silva/Mata

Was Rafael really terrible? From the highlights he was only partially to blame for one of the goals. He was on the line for the 2 corners that were scored on the opposite side to him.

He wasn't good, but not terrible either. He was apparently taken off so Smalling could get on and help out with height. Evans however looked at fault for all goals, to me at least.

well he had no blame on the goals from corners. and the first one should have been headed over by
Evans too. I just think he was tired after playing the most games of any united player recently.

Fergies reasoning was that Smalling added height to the team, so his performance was not directly blamed for the sub. Fergie also added that he had been one of the best players for them so far. So I cant see this having longer serving affect.

Crazy to consider having BOTH Rafa and Vidic for GW17

I think Rafa's time may be up as an FPL pick. Now all United's defenders are back, he is no longer nailed on, the bandwagon has been great and made sense, but it may be at it's end, it would be one last hurrah.

Otherwise i might just ship Rafa to Vidic, buying price is virtually the same, i will have made a tidy 0.5 on Rafa

You have the luxuries of price and time here. See how Vidic heals and if Rafael is actually in the doghouse. You have the cash in hand to get both if they are strong or choose the right one if only one is in favor and good form.

Aaaargh going round in circles here.

    Bego Bunn

    Baines Cuellar Davies Rafa Gunter

    Silva Fell Michu Sterling Bale

    Berb Suarez RVP

1 FT 0.3 in the bank

Tempted to do Bale > Sess for a DGW punt. I won’t lose value on Bale (well maybe 0.1 unless he drops)

Thought Sess looked half decent today and Sun rallied in the second half. Looks promising for the 2 home games…

It’s either that or Gunter > Baines lite Shorey?

    Team for GW 16 :

    http://s1.directupload.net/file/d/3092/cl5cf8kw_png.htm

    Opinions?

Not sure, if I should keep RvP and Tevez. Rooney seems a good replacement for RvP and Berba/Podolski or Ba could get the place of Tevez.

not a fan of points, eh?

apart from the price free fall Ba has; MCI, mun, ars, EVE

berba's a better bet, just have him in when he scores 5 goals in one game cos his next 4 games will be 2 pointers.

go for the other arsneal guy imo

I think they are both fixture proof, Silva more than Theo, but both are punts on form right now.
