It’s been a while since we took a tenner from our wallets and paid visit to our friends at Paddy Power. A fortnight ago we were denied winnings by Bobby Zamora’s solitary strike after Michu had delivered on his side of our betting bargain. Undeterred by that setback, we’re at Paddy’s door again to examine the Scout Pick inspired markets for the Gameweek ahead…

Theo Walcott simply had to feature in this week’s bets. The Arsenal winger has run Robin Van Persie close all week in the Captain’s Poll and goes into the home clash with Villa well fancied to add to his already impressive 11-goal tally this term. Paddy are also showing confidence in the fleet-footed attacker, offering 16/5 on a Walcott anytime goal with a Gunners clean sheet. While we’re right behind Theo, we’ve got concerns on the Arsenal back four against the menace of Christian Benteke, so we’ll place a cautious Β£3 on this one.

The next market looks more up our street. Romelu Lukaku was inspired form when he was unleashed from the bench in the 2-0 win at Anfield last time out and, with a rest beckoning for Gameweek 28 against his parent club Chelsea, the big Belgian will surely be set free to torment the Black Cats at the Hawthorns this weekend. Paddy are dangling 6/1 on a Lukaku strike with a West Brom clean sheet against Sunderland – we’ll throw another Β£3 their way on that one.

Moussa Sissoko has been a revelation over his three matches for the Magpies and is another who goes into the weekend programme heavily backed for returns. Newcastle face Southampton at St James’ Park on Sunday: a crucial game for both sides. We expect that Sissoko will, once again, be played up behind Papiss Cisse to lead the charge on the Saints goal and, with two strikes to his name already, Paddy’s odds of 11/1 on a Sissoko goal with a Newcastle clean sheet look encouraging. We’ll wager another couple of quid on this one.

That leaves just a single pound to spend on Paddy’s regular treble market, which this week includes a potential fourth consecutive strike from Gareth Bale at West Ham. Paddy are dangling 18/1 on a Bale goal at Upton Park on Monday night, with a Walcott assist against Villa and a United clean sheet against QPR.

Register and Bet Β£10 And Get Β£20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free Β£20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Well, I planned that already. Dzeko played 90 mins in recently games 2013. With no Europe Mancini won't rotate his squad anymore which mean Dzeko - Aguero are his starting 11 for now. For GW 29 i will selll him again for Benteke. That's what im going to do if i get Lambert I will sell him too in GW29.

Not sure of answer but not great this year compared to previous years. Too many wild picks that get benched, then there's the 4 strikers which makes any auto sub calculation not valid.

I hear ya. Have they ever said if they set rules for themselves? E.g. only allow a certain budget etc. It's not purely who they think the highest scorers will be for sure, since there are some budget guys always in there along w/ some select punts.

All I know the basically do a roundtable and hash out the picks.

Hope someone else can answer those points so I'll not do any guesswork.

Personally I'd prefer them to ignore price altogether and stick their necks out on top scoring teams. Most transfers people not on WC plan to do are for expensive players in their position, getting the most in there should be the goal. Budgets... I just want to keep them unless I have nothing else to do, which is rarely.

Maybe they should change from a team formation to instead top scoring in various buckets. E.g. 1 expensive nailed on mid, 1 budget mid, 1 punt

Do one for each position. Might be more helpful. But I dunno. Whatevs. I was just more curious than anything

      Ddg (bunn)
      Onouha cueller Harte debauchy (Davies)
      Wally bale fellaini Maloney (michu)
      Rvp grioud (sturridge)

This will be if I do GJ + Suarez >> debauchy + grioud. Will leave me wit 5m in the bank 😯

Gw28: grioud >> augero if city game goes ahead.

I could also bring in cisse to spread the risk as I already have Wally. I could also bring in Baines over debauchy as a two week punt but think that might be risky as it will leave me with only 11 for gw29

I don't know. MLSsoccer.com is doing previews this week and next, and the Chivas teamsheet projects Iraheta as starting holding mid. Don't know about nailed on. More forgiving though since we have 2 xfers to play w/ every week, so not penalized as much for mistakes like in FPL.

I like Le Toux. Red Bull fan here (NYC), and have been burned a lot by him when he was in Philly, glad he's back there. OOP mid.

Frontline currently Keane Higuane Gordon. Will get Henry in at some point.

The greatest player that's ever lived - Thierry Henry πŸ™‚

Anyway Kobayashi is an attacking mid/right winger for the Whitecaps. On set-pieces. New signing from the J-League. Did some research.

Would you recommend any big hitters in defense?

Good advice. I'll be sure to scout him out. I got Collin for KC coverage and apparently very offensive too. 6.0

Then Kennedy at 5.0 for Seattle cover.

Tally Hall for big GK. Would have done Nielsen but I wanted Collin and didn't want to double KC w/ so much money. Rest are budget guys. Lade, Parke, Woolard.

Overall I've noticed less spread than is in FPL. Ex. biggest FPL defenders are guys like Evra, Baines, Ivanovic... around 7+, while budget guys for teams like Reading are 4-4.5

MLS it's like either 6 or 4.5 minimum. Similar type thing in mid and fwd. There are no RvP/Roo/Aguero priced fwds.

Are Lade, Parke and Woolard regular starters?

Btw, I've found the Bego-Sorensen combo. Chicago Fire keepers - 5.0 and 4.0.

Lade is not nailed, but he's an OOP defender who has some upside. I go to all the RB home games, and he had a good amount of playing time. Got 2200+ minutes last season.

Parke and Woolard I believe they are. Parke for sure is undervalued. Woolard is the cheapie link to DC backline. Korb is the other.

ok. rosales will get a lot of assists and chip in with the odd goal. he's our captain too and is on corners and long fk's and fk's from out wide.

zakuani is a explosive player with lots of pace. i recon he'll score more goals than rosales but hard to tell if it'll be enough goals to make up for all the assists rosales will get

Red Bull organization is just sad in comparison. It's like they don't actually understand the game or fans (which they probably don't).

Are they all mental? A guy in mine was like that. He was giving it, "Don't need him. I'll win without him. All of you who pick him are just boring."

He caved and got him in with his January wildcard. He's currently 14th.

I was set on Walcott all week but now I read a lot of smart guys on this site going with RVP captain. My views is that QPR may play very tight as they often do against big teams, while Arsenal can score plenty as they have a lot to prove this week.

QPR broke against Swansea. With Nelsen gone, I guess RVP could just get a brace.
I believe even Walcott can break free and get us fantasy points.
Simply put, on an average RVP :9 points and Wally : 13 points or 6 points .
You decide if you want to play safe.

          RVP (c) Bale (vc) 21.

        I'd rather captain salma ;).

but in all honesty, you have a 14m player because he is consistent, the top scorer in the epl, on man united, on penalties, and is always a good captain choice. but if you have a great captain choice, then it makes sense to captain them for one week.

p.s. dunno if you saw above but you've got mails πŸ˜€

Unless you're Captain Hindsight, how do you know who's going to score most points every week?

If you use one of the prediction tools (like RMT) you'll see VP is in the top 3 every gw. He's priced there for a reason.

Thankfully I enjoy the game a lot more by not using programs to make decisions for me. My opinions are not based on a program algorithm, it kind of ruins the discussion.

"Yeah, but RMT said this so you're wrong". OK.

you don't need to stop thinking when you have a 14M£ player. Yes, he's a reliable option more or less every week and the best option in most weeks. But he's not the best option every week, regardless of his price.

This week for example: walcott averages 8.1 ppstart, rvp 7.6 ppstart. Walcott is against the worst defence in league by stats (villa away). rvp is playing away and against qpr who have been impressive defensively of late (excluding swansea game though). therefore, walcott is a better option THIS week imo. rvp might be better option some other week. i wasn't talking about knowing the actual scores at any point
